image caching problem in internet explorer

i have built a custon aps.net image controls, which currently refresh the image via javascript and ajax.in firefox, google chrome,.. it works perfectly, but (suprise), there is problem in internet explorer 6 and 7. IE didn't relase the old (previous) image, so all images will be saved in the cache and ram consumption of the browser rises until it crashes...the javascript code:function getNextImage(clientId) { if (busy) { window.setTimeout("getNextImage('" + clientId + "')", 100); return false; } busy = true; //Send the request to server with the current image url as the argument var element = document.getElementById(clientId); var func = "CallServer(" + element.src + ", '')"; var sor = element.src; func = "CallServer" + clientId + "('" + sor + "', '')"; window.setTimeout(func, 0); } function ReceiveServerData(rValue) { //Receive server's response of a string rValue, which is prepared in the server's function //GetCallbackResult() var wds = rValue.split(";"); //Assign the transition effect var photo = document.getElementById(wds[0]); photo.style.filter = wds[2]; //Preload the image file from server. When finishing download, imageLoaded function will be called //with t

Problem With Internet Explorer 8 - Internet Security Dialog Box

I have two computers, and on one of them I am unable to open Internet Explorer because I keep getting a dialog box that says "Internet Explorer Security - a website wants to open web content using this program on your computer.  This program will open outside of Protected mode.  Internet Explorer's Protected mode helps protect your computer.  If you do not trust this website, do not open this program.

  Name:  dw20.exe

  Publisher:  Microsoft Corporation"

The details say it has to do with ...rosoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\dw20.exe

Each time I click on Allow or Don't allow, IE closes and I can't use it.  It doesn't seem to matter which option I choose....it still closes.  What is causing this and how do I fix it?  It's very frustrating.  I need to be able to get into IE on this particular computer.

While Importing Excel 2007 file to Datatable - headerrow problem

Hi there,

I am trying to simply extract an excel data from an uploaded file an put it into a datatable. In this case the excel file has 3 rows but when I fill the datatable I only see row count of 2.

I tried changing HDR:NO; to HDR:YES and vice versa, but no luck.

What am I doing wrong? (Note: the excel file cannot have a  headerrow)

string connstr = "Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=" + pFilePath + ";Extended Properties=\"Excel 12.0;IMEX=1;HDR:NO;\"";
            OleDbConnection conn = new OleDbConnection(connstr);
            DataTable dtTables = conn.GetOleDbSchemaTable(System.Data.OleDb.OleDbSchemaGuid.Tables, null);
            string strTablename = dtTables.Rows[0]["TABLE_NAME"].ToString();
            string strSQL = "SELECT * FROM [" + strTablename + "]";

            OleDbCommand cmd = new OleDbCommand(strSQL, conn);

            DataTable dt = new DataTable();
            OleDbDataAdapter da = new OleDbDataAdapter(cmd);
            //At this point row count=2 which doesn't make sense

Problem in accessing resource file dynamically.

Steps I have followed are
1.I have created myres.en-GB.resx file at C:.
2.then created locale specific myres.en-GB.resources using resgen at c: only,
resgen c:\myres.en-GB.resx
3.Linked the Resource File to Assembly using AL.exe which is giving me assembly at c: only.
Al /t:lib /embed:myres.en-GB.resources /out:ClassLibrary1.dll
4.I have created one web application using vs 2008 & then build it.
5.Then placed both resource file & dll in web applications Bin\en-GB folder.
6.Anf finally written code at page load like
 CultureInfo info = new CultureInfo("en-GB");
            Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture = info;
            Assembly asd = Assembly.Load("ClassLibrary1");

The ASP Column: Using the Internet Explorer WebControls

During the lifespan of ASP, there have been many technologies developed for making browser-based user interface development easier. For example, during the early days of classic ASP development, keeping a browser-based UI consistent required many conditional statements into the ASP script.

DHTML and .NET: Host Secure, Lightweight Client-Side Controls in Microsoft Internet Explorer

In the past, Web developers often used ActiveX controls if they wanted customized client-side functionality incorporated into their Web applications. Now, they can build objects supported by the Microsoft .NET Framework which are more compact, lightweight, secure, and seamlessly integrated. By hosting .NET Windows Forms controls in Internet Explorer, developers can realize many of their client-side Web development goals. This article adapts ActiveX concepts for use with Windows Forms, and builds a multifile upload application that demonstrates these techniques.

Graphics: Manipulate Digital Images in Internet Explorer with the DirectX Transform SDK

The Microsoft DirectX Transform is a Microsoft DirectX media API that can be used to create animated effects as well as to create and edit digital images for Windows-based applications. Scripting and HTML can be used to display an existing transform on a Web page, and improved transform support in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 makes it easy to use transforms. This article provides step-by-step instructions for writing a transform as an ATL project and shows an example of an image transform. C++ is used to instantiate, configure, and display transforms in this project.

Digital Dashboards: Web Parts Integrate with Internet Explorer and Outlook to Build Personal Portals

Digital dashboards gather information and functionalities from a wide variety of sources ranging from Web pages to applications such as Microsoft Outlook and SQL Server, and present the resulting information in a single user interface. Digital dashboards built with the Digital Dashboard Resource Kit (DDRK) are made up of distinct units called Web Parts. Web Parts, introduced with the DDRK 2.01, can contain any Web-based information, are reusable, and integrate with each other and with other dashboards. Creating Web Parts and getting them to work together is illustrated via a sample application that uses a PivotTable view. Integrating Web Parts with Outlook, the Outlook View control, storage, and debugging are also covered.

File Download Problem

Hi everyone,

I am using a download handler to handle the downloading of files from my website.  I am using a slightly modified code from the Microsoft article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/812406

Everything is working fine and downloading, even with large files, but it does not show the file size for any of the files to download. Even if theyre really small.

Here is my code for the handler

public class DownloadHandler : IHttpHandler

        public void ProcessRequest(HttpContext context)
            string path = "";
                path = context.Server.UrlDecode(context.Request.QueryString["src"]).DecryptString();
            catch(Exception ex)
            System.IO.Stream iStream = null;

            byte[] buffer = new Byte[10000];

            int length;

            long dataToRead;

            string filename = System.IO.Path.GetFileName(path);

                iStream = new System.IO.FileStream(context.Server.MapPath("~/" + path), System.IO.FileMode.Open,
                            System.IO.FileAccess.Read, System.IO.FileShare.Read);
