Shadowbox kills Silverlight in SP 2010 on IE for survey form (but not Firefox)

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 29, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I have put the Shadowbox javascript in place on our SharePoint 2010 system. Placing the Shadowbox files in the site assets and calling the js file with the following in the masterpage.

<script src="../../SiteAssets/Shadowbox/shadowbox.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
 <script type="text/javascript">

Shadowbox works fine on all pages where we use it. But we have just discovered that the survey response form Silverlight pop up has died in IE (we are using IE8). Silverlight popups still work in other parts of Sharepoint but not for surveys. It works in Firefox perfectly.

If I run IE in debug mode it stops with an error of: 'listName' is null or not an object

at this line in core.js: if(d.listName.toUpperCase()==a.toUpperCase())

But interestingly when I click continue in the debugger the silverlight popup works. So it only works when debugging in IE.

Has anyone else managed to get Shadowbox to work in Sharepoint 2010 without killing surveys? If so

SQL CE + MSVS 2010 + The path is not of the legal form

Hi,My problem is the same as the one described here. http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/sqlce/thread/8226ea79-6182-4319-b335-9665f822bf2bI see it is marked as answered, but it has nothing to do with forms and designers for us. Please drop more advice for me to solve the irritating problem please?For us, we also have SQL CE under server explorer. Besides changing the schema, after each debug run, the database will also be rendered as "The Path is not of the legal form" and the only way to proceed is to close MSVS and then reopen it again.This error message is quite useles to solve anything.... perhaps it should at least say what which component is trying to access which path?Thanks for your attention.Jake See

Infopath 2010 Browser Based Form Vs Infopath 2010 Filler Based Form Issue

I have created a detailed infopath form that is connecting to multiple sharepoint lists, some of which contain thousands of rows and dozens of columns.  To tailor for the data load i have enabled the form to only pull in data as needed and on some of the lists i have created 5 or 6 data connections to the same list, each only looking at a certain set of data, and as you make your way through the form selecting your options, the data is pulled in. If i preview this form from within Infopath or if i launch it using Infopath filler this works great, the data is pulled through in under a second.  However if i then publish the form to the browser and launch it through the browser, it now takes roughly 30 seconds to pull in the data. My question is therefore this,  Is there something i can do to speed up the way the data is pulled in when launched through the browser?  are there transport protocols i can alter or something like that? maybe config in central admin or infopath config? any help would be gratefully appreciated as if i can not get the form to pull the data in fast through the browser then the whole project is a waste of time as my management team will never go for the solution if it is slow and will get slower as more data is added. thanks

Cannot crawl sharepoint site and mysite after database attach upgrade form sharepoint 2007 to 2010.

After database attach upgrade site and mysite from sharepoint 2007 to 2010 , I have full crawl and get "The crawler could not communicate with the server. Check that the server is available and that the firewall access is configured correctly. If the repository was temporarily unavailable, an incremental crawl will fix this error. ( Error from SharePoint site: HttpStatusCode ServiceUnavailable The request failed with HTTP status 503: Service Unavailable. )" for mysite and get "Access is denied. Verify that either the Default Content Access Account has access to this repository, or add a crawl rule to crawl this repository. If the repository being crawled is a SharePoint repository, verify that the account you are using has "Full Read" permissions on the SharePoint Web Application being crawled." for sharepoint site. The content access account for search is "db_owner" of both of site and mysite. How do I solved this problem ?
