XML Radio Button Selection Issue

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 29, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi All,

I used some code i found on the internet and a little of my own to come up with a custom radio-button that will add a list field to the querystring as a parameter. This code seems to work fine when i stick it in a dataview in its own column, but SharePoint Designer does not seem to like my closing tag "</input>" which will lead SharePoint Designer to occasionally try to fix the code itself, which actually breaks it. I'm not an XML expert by any means, so if anyone could please tell me why the code doesnt seem to be XML certified, i would really appreciate it. Code below:

<input type="radio" value="{@TID}" name="radioMain">

Maintain HTML Radio Button Selection Inside GridView After Postback

Long time ago I wrote an article about getting the value of the selected RadioButtons inside the GridView control. The code did not addresssed the postback issue which means that the selected radio button was cleared after the postback occurs.

Set radio-button selection from model's property

I got 3 radion-buttons on the view called:

- Taxi

- Train

- Bus

The model passed has a property called "Transport" of type String.

In the action, if I set the property as 'Train', then the view should set the radio-button 'Train' checked.

model.Transport = "Train";

How do I do that in the view to make the radio-button Train checked?

Problem to group radio button across gridview rows

In general no one can easily group or make a single selection from radio button list inside gridview rows. There are a lot of way to make a single or unique selection from list. Here i want to share how i can address this problem in the most easiest way. Googling the problem most of the cases i saw the grouping in horizontal way. Thats why i tried to group the radio buttons in vertical manner. Let i have a requirement like below:

A Simple and Extensible Radio Button Style GridView

The GridView is one of the significant controls in ASP.NET 2.0 and later versions. No doubt it reduces a lot of work time. However, customizing the GridView control is not an easy task. For example, it's hard to add a radio button column to the GridView. This article demonstrates the reason why a radio button column cannot act as normal and how to create a simple and extensible radio button GridView.

Editable Gridview with Textbox, CheckBox, Radio Button and DropDown List

This is an example of an editable gridview containing different ASP.NET controls. When user wants to edit values in gridview, she/he can use these controls to edit existing values in Gridview Edit Mode.

(Imperfect) Solution to TreeView Postback / Client-Side Node Selection Issue

I've seen this question posted on all corners of the web... "How do I disable "AutoPostBack" on the ASP.NET 2.0 TreeView control?!"  Unfortunately, most of the answers either don't work, miss the point (don't work right), or boil down to "You can't do it."  I happen to know that this behavior worked perfectly in the IEWebControls TreeView that Microsoft released as an add-on prior to ASP.NET 2.0, however.  So I set out to find a solution for the ASP.NET 2.0 TreeView issue.

In a nutshell, the behavior that I and others are looking for is to have a TreeView rendered in a page that allows the user to expand, contract, and select nodes within the TreeView without causing a PostBack to the server.  This implies two things: (1) the most recently-selected node should be recorded as the currently-selected node [i.e., at PostBack time, the most-recently selected node is actually represented as the SelectedNode]; and (2) the selected node should exhibit the SelectedNodeStyle as specified in the TreeView declaration.

It appears that the TreeView engineers saw only two possible outcomes from selecting a leaf node in a tree: (1) immediately posting back to the server, or (2) immediately navigating to another web page.  They apparently did not consider option (3) just allowing selection in-place on the client, while waiting for a click on so

Select only one radio button in a datagrid

I have been frantically searching for help to select only one radio button in datagrid and deselect the other when a new button is clicked.

I do not want to use javascript. Can someone help me on this?

Gridview radio button

I am making an online train reservation system. I want to create a fare table (as seen in the link ) that will display fare of different classes based on the user selection of route. The fares should provide a radio button that will allow users to select which fare they would want to purchase. I am having trouble on how to show fares of the same schedule of different classes. I want to create something like the Eurostar fare tables.

Selecting One Radio Button In A GridView

Hello, how do I add a RadioButton column to a gridview so that only one button is selectable? Here is what I have now. <asp:GridView ID="GridView2" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="false"> <Columns> <asp:TemplateField> <ItemTemplate> <asp:RadioButton ID="RadioButton2" runat="server" /> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> <asp:HyperLinkField DataTextField="Text" DataNavigateUrlFields="NavigateURL" /> </Columns> </asp:GridView>

Radio button and Checkbox don't work in Opera

RadioButtonList without the Radio Button Circle?

basically, i just want the RadioButtonList without the radio button on it, i will code the rbl so that selected items have a different background color and make it look more professional, the radio buttons themselves i want to be able to get rid of in terms of apperance... if you know of any way to do it, please do let me know!

Viewstate issue when calling button click event from Javascript

I have a javascript that asks a confirmation on search click. If the user has made some changes to the data in grid (gridview) on click of Search, a confirmation is asked to Save or Continue Search. If Yes, Save the records by invoking Save click from javascript. If No, Search click is invoked. While Search click happens correctly, Save click results in an error which reads like this..  "Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that <machineKey> configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster. " I know the Viewstate is what causing the problem, where the control is not loaded but script is trying to invoke it's click event. Any help is appreciated. At the end of the day, all i need is to invoke Save click from javascript.   -- Viswanth VG

Browser back button issue when ViewState stored in DB.

I implemented the solution of storing the ViewState in DB (since we were getting lots of Invalid & Corrupt Viewstate errors on our site daily) as given in the following website:http://weblogs.asp.net/adweigert/archive/2004/03/09/86628.aspxThe solution was implemented in one of the aspx pages on our site that behaves like a wizard (not using the wizard control though). After starting to store the viewstate in DB, the Invalid ViewState errors were eliminated completely, but I am now facing the following problem:1) User selects radiobutton1 of the two radiobutton choices on Page 2 of the wizard, a postback happens which displays some extra information on the page based on the selection. Now the user hits the next button on the page that also does a postback & displays Page 3.2) On Page 3, user hits the "back button" of the browser instead of the "previous page" button that is available on that page.3) This displays Page 2 from cache in original state(without any selections made). When user now selects radiobutton2, a postback is supposed to happen, but it does not. User then clicks "next" button on Page 2 (a postback does happen here however), & Page 3 is displayed, but it still thinks that radiobutton1 was selected (the original selection that was made in step1) on the previous page & hence displays information accordingly.I am assumi
