I am new to asp.net.
I am designing a page to let the user to edit and update his own profile. How can I control a user so that he can only change his own profile?
Thanks very much

I have MOSS 2007 up and running, and the Staff Profile is maintained by the users.
Now there is another NEW sharepoint 2010 apps planning. In order to avoid the duplication of staff profile in SharePoint 2010, the requirement is to update the SharePoint 2010 Staff Profile from the existing MOSS 2007.
Is it possible? Any help.
I am trying below code in Visual Web Part.
using (SPSite site = new SPSite("http://servername"))
SPServiceContext context =
UserProfileManager profileManager = new UserProfileManager(context);
string sAccount = "domainname\\username";
UserProfile u = profileManager.GetUserProfile(sAccount);
u[PropertyConstants.HomePhone].Value = "nnnnnnnnnn";
u[PropertyConstants.CellPhone].Value = "nnnnnnnnnn";
"Updates are currently disallowed on GET requests.
To allow updates on a GET, set the 'AllowUnsafeUpdates' property on SPWeb."

I am new to share point, and not able to edit user profile data in sharepoint2007. I am getting an error "can't edit the property try with user profile services".
I have ran full crawl still getting the same problem. Also let me know how I can fetch data from Active Directory to share point 2007.
I have a requirement to import the profile properties from a text file in sFTP to update the MOSS Profile Database. The objective is to create a single repository for the Staff Directory in MOSS.
Can I use BDC to connect and update the Profile database?
What is the alternate approach?
