The following error occurred within a SharePoint 2010 document library:
As I tried to test out the new SharePoint 2010 environment I changed the metadata from a few documents within a document library. I noticed that the data from the currency und number field was incorrect from a few documents. The numbers
looked like that the decimal separator were ignored. For an example: 123.456,78 was saved as 12.345.678.
At first I thought it could be a language incompabilty but if that would be the case: Why would there be other documents which show the correct number?
I created another document library to recreate this error. And there I noticed the real reason: Every time I changed these fields from a document which was saved in the office 2007 format the error occurred. The metadata from the documents
in the office 2003 format were correct.
Has anyone a similar problem or got an idea how to solve this problem?

I have created several content types to create new documents in a document library, did all the plumbing and stuff and it works great. So a user selects new, then selects the contenty type and the associated template opens. User edits the document and when
(s)he is happy presses save and then....the user is prompted with a dialog box pointing to "his local harddrive" instead of the document library!!
In MOSS2007 when a user did the above he could directly save it to the document library.
How can I let SharePoint 2010 save a template directly to a SharePoint Document Library?

Is there a way to set permissions on document library where HR can see all documents but employees can only see the documents that they uploaded?
I am trying to configure permission level but can't find anything that will solve the purpose.
HR is hoping to do online enrollment and remove paper format.
Not able to edit the document (Office 2007) in a SharePoint document library, Its showing already checkout (locked for other users) by another user still that is checked-in and also if checked-out even the same user cheked-in. Please provide me the solution.
I cannot find any way to do it.
I also asked on Stack Overflow.
When saving a file from ie. an email attachment into a sharepoint document library the files show up in explorer view of the document library but there is about a 20 minutes delay before they show up in the default view of the document library. This
is quite frustrating as because you can not see it there the users try to save as again.
This seems to work correctly in our test sharepoint environment. Does anyone have any ideas as where to start looking.
i hope your understood my problem...
please suuggest me with your coading skills.....
thanks & regards

Anyone ever had trouble with document properties that does not syncronize between a Word 2007 document and the SharePoint library where it is stored?
I have a SharePoint library, that contains two content types. When I upload a pdf file, and set the property values everything is perfect. When I create a Word document and set the Properties using the DIP, the values are stored in the Word document (I see
them in the DIP, inside the word xml files and in the fileds in the document where they are displayed (using quickparts)), but not transfered to SharePoint when I save the document to the library.
If I upload a Word document to the library, I am able to choose content type and set all the property values. But when I open the document for editing, all the property values in the DIP are empty. The DIP do show the correct property fields for that content
After creating new libraries, content types and creating, transfering and uploading files all day, I have not been able to locate what is causing this issue.
My users have been using this library for several months and use the documents on a daily basis, and this problem just got raised. My users are feeling scared that they have to recreate their library or site (which will involve manually updating
all the document properties ). I hope someone are able to
I continue to have trouble getting a subreport to display from within a main report that is stored in a SharePoint Foundation 2010 document library. My report server is configured in SharePoint Integrated Mode.
A TechNet article, Specifying Paths to External Items (Report Builder 3.0 and SSRS) [http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd220423.aspx], includes the following instructions:
When you specify a path for an external item in a dialog box for actions, subreports, or images, you can browse directly to the report server and select the item. Browsing to an item and selecting it directly is the recommended way to specify
a drillthrough report or subreport. That way the correct parameter names will be available in a drop-down list when you specify report or subreport parameters. When you change an item path to point to a different item, you must manually update the correct
parameter names and values as needed.
On a report server configured in SharePoint integrated mode, you must include the file extension .rdl. The path can be one of the following:
...also when Office documents are saved to document library they open as Read-only and cannot be saved back to the same document library.
This only happens in my production SharePoint 2007 environment from client XP and IE7 machine. It does not happen in developement environment (which mirrors
production) from client XP/IE7 machines.
Save works fine to SharePoint document libraries from client Win 7 and IE8 machines in both production and development environments.
This only happens when attempting to save to a My Site Personal Documents document library. Any other document library this behavior does not exist from XP
or Win 7 machine.
What settings controls ones ability to save to a personal My site document library. What setting could be different between prod and dev installations?
