Row cannot be located for updating. Some values may have been changed since it was last read

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 29, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

hi SharePoint Gurus,

I am deeply stuck with one issue

Description Infopatth 2007/2003: InfoPath cannot submit the form. An error occurred while the form was being submitted. Row cannot be located for updating. Some values may have been changed since it was last read

This is really frustating me as this happens only some time where as other time it is working fine. My questions are :-

1) On How to re-produce this error? Because re-produce means it can be resolved as well hopefully?

2) Secondly the possible permanent solution to this.

I have search on google & bing with no feasible solution as yet. The thread below mentioned something which doesn't help me at all.

Help with updating database with values from Repeater control using c#

Hello, I'm new to ASP.NET 3.5 with C#. I really need some help.

I used a Repeater control to create a simple (editable) list where, when a user logs in, they can edit their list of expenses.  The ASP page works fine.

 My issue is with the code-behind.  I am really confused with how to extract the values from the repeater control. The FindControl method does not seem to be working.  Also, the code I am using resets my 'Amount' values back to 0.00. (0.00 is the amount the user sees when they first encounter the page).

 Here's a portion of the code on the ASP page:

<asp:Repeater ID="Repeater1" runat="server" DataSourceID="SqlDataSource1"

            onitemcommand="Repeater1_ItemCommand">

.

<ItemTemplate>

.

<td><asp:Label ID="lblExpId" runat="server"  Text='<%# Bind("ExpId") %>'></asp:Label> </td>

 <td><asp:Textbox ID="lblExpense" runat="server" Width= "190px" Text='<%# Bind("ExpenseName") %>'></asp:Textbox> </td>

 <td><asp:Textbox ID="txtAmount" runat="server" Width= "100px"

How to Read values from the XAML file at Runtime

e.PageSettings values take too long to read.

I have an application that takes a long time to view the Print Preview on a particular user's computer.  The rest of my users don't have a problem.  I narrowed the problem down to the following line of code: Dim XOffset As Single = CSng((e.PageSettings.PaperSize.Width - e.PageSettings.Margins.Right - e.PageSettings.Margins.Left) / 2 - StringSize.Width / 2) which simply determines an X offset for a subsequent e.Drawstring that is centered. On this particular user's computer, this line of code takes between 1 and 2 seconds to execute. Another strange symptom is that once he prints the document, the print preview executes as fast as it should. Can anyone shed some light on this mysterious behavior?  Thanks!

Updating ViewModel values on HttpPost

Hi there, I am just getting started with MVC after many years of WebForms development. I am struggling with some basics that I hope you can help out with. I have a very simple page with two textbox fields, one called Input where a user will enter something, and one called Output where I want to return some string after they post the form, much like a postback scenario in WebForms. I have the View connected to a ViewModel for strong typing. The ViewModel: public class TestViewModel { public string Input { get; set; } public string Output { get; set; } } The View: <% Html.BeginForm(); %> <%: Html.TextBoxFor(x => x.Input) %> <input type="submit" value="Submit" /> <br /><br /> <%: Html.TextAreaFor(x => x.Output)%> <% Html.EndForm(); %>   The Controller: public ActionResult Test() { var viewModel = new TestViewModel(); viewModel.Input = "Enter something"; return View("Test",viewModel); } [HttpPost] public ActionResult Test(TestViewModel viewModel) { viewModel.Output = "Here is some response"; return View("Test", viewModel); } The problem I have is that the

Updating list item values in SharePoint Designer using code

Is it possible to programmatically modify the SharePoint objects using SharePoint Designer Object Model. By that I mean coding in SharePoint Designer (not Visual Studio). For example, can we access the list items of a list programmatically and change their values? I can do all this in Visual Studio using SharePoint Object Model but I don’t find a way of achieving this by using programming in SharePoint Designer. I searched through http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb208639(office.12).aspx but no success. If the answer is yes. Can someone please give example(s) or point to some articles etc? Thanks in advance.

How to read checkbox values from programmatically created checkboxes?

I have a form that does a loop to create checkboxes.  Here is the code in the loop:

LeftPosition+=120;
cbxDrives.Top = TopPosition;
cbxDrives.Left = LeftPosition;
cbxDrives.Text = d.Name;
CheckBox cbxDrives = new CheckBox();this.Controls.Add(cbxDrives);

This creates multiple check boxes on the form, and this works fine.

However, in the code behind for my button that the user clicks to execute the form, I cannot figure how how to read the values for the checkboxes.  I've tried:

foreach (CheckBox cbxDrive in cbxDrives)
{
}

Class Properties Not Reflecting Their Changed Values

 I am using a class to track if a user cleared their personal information found within some text boxes on a form. In the button click event to clear the text boxes I am creating a new object to the class and assigning true to one property value. Sounds simple until I try and submit the form with a different button, and create a another object reference that I use in an IF statement to check the property value for true. Every time the statement fails because the value being returned from the getter in my class is false.

This is the class:

Public Class FormStateClass
    '-------------------------------------------------------
    'property holds true or false
    'based on if the user clears the populated form values.
    'True = Form was cleared
    'False = Form was not cleared
    '-------------------------------------------------------

    Private _test As Boolean
    Public Property FormState As Boolean
        Get
            Return _test
        End Get
        Set(ByVal value As Boolean)
            _test = value
        End Set
    End Property

End Class

This is the code I am using to set the property to true:

Dim thisForm = New FormStateClass With {.FormState = True}

I've also tried these statements:

Using the Client Object Model to read values from Excel file produces 504 error

Hi,

I use the Client Object Model to retrieve and read values from an Excel file. This is triggered in an Event Receiver on the Document Library where the Excel file lives. I use a simple CAML Query to retrieve the file. This has worked just fine on a dev/test server.
Now, I just recently deployed this solution to a production/live server and now this code doesn't work anymore. I get an error saying 'The remote server returned an error: (504) Gateway Timeout'. This happnes when I try clientContext.ExecuteQuery();

The difference between the two servers is that on the test server (where it works) the solution is sitting as the root site, so to speak. No host headers or nothing.
On the live server, there are several web applications (SharePoint) on the same port, but with different host headers.

I have tried to trace a little bit and I found that on the test server, the url that is used to create the ClientContext object is 'http://<servername>/<webname>'. The url is comes from the following code: web.Url. I tried changing the url to the DNS name the test server has and that resulted in the same error as on the live server.

Does anyone have any idea what I need to do?

Thanks a billion!

Modified by updating when document opened read only

I have several users that when they open documents the modified date and username change even if they do not save the document. In fact those fields change even if the user selects to open the document read only.

I have verified that it only happens on their machines, if they login to another system (different config) it works as expected.

All affected users are on:
Windows 7 64bit
Office 2007 SP2

Server
SharePoint 2007 updated to February 2011 CU
All servers in the farm are 2008 except for the DB which is SQL 2005 on Server 2003

Any help would be greatly appreciated

How to Pass Values Between Web Pages ASP.NET

You can pass information between pages in various ways, some of which depend on how the redirection occurs. The following options are available even if the source page is in a different ASP.NET Web application from the target page, or if the source page is not an ASP.NET Web page:

Use a query string.

Get HTTP POST information from the source page.

The following options are available only when the source and target pages are in the same ASP.NET Web application.

Use session state.

Create public properties in the source page and access the property values in the target page.

Get control information in the target page from controls in the source page.
