Provisioning did not succeed. Details: Failed to create the 'Reusable Content' library. OriginalEx

Hi there, I am trying to activate the Feature SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure in a Team Site, but I am getting the following message: Provisioning did not succeed. Details: Failed to create the 'Reusable Content' library. OriginalException: Column 'ShowInRibbon' does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user. This environment is running SharePoint 2010 Server, as a result of an upgrade of MOSS 2007 by moving the Content Database. The visual upgrade was applied partially in this Site Collection, not for all the Web Sites. Interestingly for new SharePoint 2010 Site Collections the activation works fine! But not for this specific Site Collection. Any clues? Accordion control access in Javascript using Content page

Hi, I struggled with some javascript issues, and discovered that the problem seemes to come from a failed ajax control access.Here's my problem:I have a master page and a content page.In my content page, I have an accordion with 2 panes.1rst pane: a textbox and a validation button;                     I want the button to fire javascript function without reloading page (using "return false;");In my master page, I put my ToolkitScriptManager.In my content page, I put my script containing the functions.The problem is that it seems like I can't access the accordion control in my js functions, whereas I can access my textbox value...Here is my source:<%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Default.master" Title="CLEOR RH | Home" CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="Default_aspx" %> <%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="cc1" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="Main" runat="server"> <script type="text/javascript"> var step1 = false; function pageLoad() { var accCtrl = $find('AccordionCtrl_AccordionExtender');

Assigning a reusable workflow to all content types in a list in one operation?

When creating a reusable workflow I choose a base content type. I would really like to assign this workflow to the content type at site collection top level and get it to automatically work in all lists that include this content type, and also have it set to work for all children of this top level content type. It seems to me that I have to manually associate this workflow to all lists and content types? I am missing something here? Henning

SP2010 Upgrade Error: Missing Reusable Content Types

During the in-place upgrade from MOSS2007 to SharePoint 2010, I experienced the following issue for numerous site collections.  Even though these were errors, the configuration wizard completed with Errors stating that there were some sites not fully upgraded.

I cannot determine how to resolve this error and complete the content database upgrade.   Thanks in advance.

In the Upgrade-YYYYMMDD-######-##-error.log file, the following details were logged for about 15 different site collections:

How to get Reusable Content to show up in subsite?

Hello,

I have Reusable Content List in my root site collection that contains some custom image layouts and also some custom sub-site navigation that I would like to include in all pages under a particular Subsite.  I created a page template that included the resuable content just fine.  I can also create a page using this template at teh root level without issue, however; I cannot create a page using this template at a subsite level below the root site collection.

Can someone confirm if this is possible or not.  The error I get is:

List does not exist

The page you selected contains a list that does not exist.  It may have been deleted by another user.

Thank you for your thoughts and comments.

Sincerely,
Tim

When Saving a Page that Contains Javascript, the Content Rendered is Repeated

Each time I save a page that contains javascript, the content rendered is duplicated. For example, I added the following javascript (to display today's date) into a content editor web part:

*****************************************************************************

<script language="JavaScript">
function mdy(todaysdate) {
//calls the function mdy why to get our date
return todaysdate.getMonth()+1+"/"+todaysdate.getDate()+"/"+todaysdate.getYear()
}</script><b><font size="2"><script language="JavaScript">
sampleDate1=new Date()
document.write ("Today's date is "+ mdy(sampleDate1))</script></font></b>

*****************************************************************************

I then click on stop editing. When I go back to edit the page and then click on stop editing, "Todays date is ...." keeps repeating. This happens each time I edit the page.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? If not, do you know what could be causing it?

ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript Snippet Support (VS 2010 and .NET 4.0 Series)

This post covers another useful improvement in VS 2010 - HTML/ASP.NET/JavaScript snippet support. Snippets allow you to be more productive within source view by allowing you to create chunks of code and markup that you can quickly apply and use in your application with a minimum of character typing.

Visual Studio has supported the concept of "snippets" for VB and C# in previous releases - but not for HTML, ASP.NET markup and JavaScript. With VS 2010 we now support snippets for these content types as well.

SharePoint Tutorial - Content Types

SharePoint content types provide users with a way to manage and organize content in a more meaningful way. It's a reusable of settings you want to apply to a particular type of document in a library or item in a list.

call JavaScript - jQuery code from ASP.NET Server-Side

jQuery got so close to me lately that I can see myself adding the scripts to my project almost unconsciously. The thing is, jQuery is very useful for me, in almost all situations and it has been a do or die enhancement for all my project since I first put my hands on it.

Of course while using it, you encounter few situations which need a bit of research to solve, mostly when you are trying to combine it with some other technologies like: UpdatePanels and ASP.NET Ajax. For instance there are many situations when I would like to run some jQuery magic based on some decision that I make on the server side.

Enabling Users to Maintain SharePoint Content

When SharePoint is installed as a corporate intranet, there is a considerable amount of effort involved in maintaining the content to keep the site relevant. As we discussed in the first few parts of this series, SharePoint has many built-in features to reduce the burden on the site administrator.

Some areas of the site usually contain less-dynamic information. Internal memos and corporate policies are common examples of this information. One option for this information is to post these documents in a document library. Documents in a library are often stored in a few different formats: Word, Acrobat (PDF), or HTML. Each of these formats has its drawbacks.

Ajax Enabled Gridview using JavaScript in ASP.NET

Before explaining the article, I would like to thank all readers who read my article and voted for it. Your appreciation for my article gives me strength to write more good articles. Hope in future I will get your valuable comments and suggestions. Now I won't waste your time and come back to the topic. I have written this article on 'Ajax Enabled Gridview Using JavaScript in ASP.NET'. In this article, I will show you how to make a Gridview using a simple HTML table, JavaScript and XML HTTP for Ajax call without using any ASP.NET control.

GridView Javascript Click Row and Ajax

This article shows 2 common tasks with the ASP.NET GridView: Binding a List (generic) of objects as DataSource and on clicking a row, getting the values of the selected row by a javascript function. In the example a List with User-objects is displayed. On clicking a row containing the data of a User-object, the Id of the object is used to get the address of the user by an Ajax-call and display it in a details-field.

Application Vs. Content Pages in SharePoint

SharePoint has two types of ASPX pages. One type is the application page, also known as a _layout page. The other type of ASPX page is a content page, also known as a site page. Each of these page types is stored in a different location in SharePoint. When developers create custom ASPX pages, they must decide on the page type.
