Incremental Content Deployment is not removing the deleted list items from target site

I am trying to do an incremental content deployment. The incremental content deployment is not removing the deleted items from target site. I checked the export log. But I did not anything there.

Please give me some pointers. Also in case of deletion how incremental content push works. I mean, one user deletes an item and now it is inside his/her recycle bin, now how incremental content deployment put this in export log.

Sharepoint 2010-Site Anonymous access

Automatically Set Anonymous access to subsites off with Parent on and permissions inherited

Is it possible to automatically set anonymous access to all newly created sub sites to be off when the Parent site is on and permissions are inherited? I know it is as simple as going into each site and disabling but to prevent users with forgetful minds we would like the default to be off. I have done a lot of research and do not see a solution. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Host-named site collections and content deployment jobs (SharePoint 2007 Internet facing Web Sites)

I have an editing web application with multiple site collections (only accessible internally on a dedicated port), and I've one public facing web application (on port 80). Now I want to create several host-named site collections in the public facing web application (to limit the number of web apps in the farm), and then use content deployment jobs to push the content from the site collections on the editing web app into these host-named site collections.

Does anyone have any experience with this?
Do you see any issues?

Inconvenient SharePoint 2010 Content Query Web Part and Anonymous Access

Morning every one

I am hoping some one has found a work around regarding this.

I am using a JQuery random 'quote' generator (http://nextconnect.blogspot.com/2009/12/jquery-random-quote-viewer.html) in my site.I have enabled full anonymous access. My issue is that it still prompts you for the login in order to see the quote generator. I have tried the "ViewFormPagesLockDown" fix but it isn't even activated on my site. And now I am at a complete loss. I did some googling (Read 5 hours) and it seems that in Sharepoint 2010 doesn't have a work around for this and I am really hoping I am wrong.

Any ideas?

Have a great friday :)

Edit access denied on publishing site - content db upgrade

There was a problem a while back in MOSS that caused users with proper rights to get access denied messages when attempting to edit or create items... something to do with the PermMask field needing the RenderXMLUsingPattern attribute to be set to true.

In a publishing site that was content db upgraded to 2010, I'm seeing the same issue, but PermMask is fine.  The problem seems to be with the "Publishing Site with Workflow" site template, because if I create a new subsite in this collection and give a content management user group any level of rights to it, including full control, the error persists in the new subsite.  However, if I create a vanilla team site in the collection, there's no issue.  The site collection has also been backed up and restored in a test environment to isolate any farm- or server-related issues.  Edit: both environments are also patched to August CU.

Anyone find a way around this without resorting to demolition?

In the logs, I'm seeing the following lines (user actually has 0x7FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF):

PermissionMask check failed. asking for 0x00010000, have 0x00000000
PermissionMask check failed. asking for 0x4000000000000000, have 0xB008431061
PermissionMask check failed. asking for 0x00000005, have 0xB008431061

Content Organizer - Target Location - Automatically create a folder for each unique value of a prope

I would like to create a content organizer rule to route documents from the drop off library to their final location in the document library.

I also want to create a subdirectory based off a metadata field, so that a folder gets created for each year.

There is a metadata field called "Document Classification Year".

I check the chebox to  "Automatically create a folder for each unique value of a property" and choose "Document Classification Year" as the field.

For "Specify the format for the folder name:" %2

I was hoping this would create a folder called "2010" if the meta data field "Document Classification Year" was entered as "2010".

But it creates TWO folders. The first folder it calls "Document Classification Year", the SECOND folder it calls "2010".

I don't need a folder called "Document Classification Year"! Just the folder "2010".

Can this be achieved without the content organizer??

Anonymous Access in site template or feature activated by the site template, is it possible?

I'm building a custom site template and my question is if it's possible to set the anonymous access level in the deployment action.

I tried to create an EventReceiver (FeatureActivated), but I doesn't change the anonymous access level at deploy time. If I deactivate and reativate the feature from the site it works, but I miss the point, because like this it's the same thing then going to Site Permission and change the permission from there.

I do not want to set Anonymous Access from the Site Administration every time.

Alerts not working for Lists on FBA / Anonymous access site

Hi Folks,

I have a WSS3.0 site that allows anonymous access as well as using FBA. Another web application is configured to use the same content database but set with windows authentication.

Anonymous users are allowed to post to a few Lists. I am trying to create an alert for an authenticated user (either FBA or Windows). I receive the "You have successfully created an alert" email, but no emails are sent when new items are added. This is the case for all new list items whether they are added by an authenitcated user or an anonymous one.

I am sure the site config is set correctly (but I will double-check). Is there any reason for the behaviour I am experiencing? I'm not at the latest patch level (we are using the June 2009 CU), so perhaps this was an issue that has been resolved in a later patch/update that I ought to apply?

Would appreciate any gems of information anyone might have on the subject before I go away and write my own event handler to send an email!!!

Enable anonymous access to sharepoint 2010 site

Enable Anonymous access to SharePoint 2010 site
This video shows how you can enable anonymous access to a SharePoint 2010 site. Anonymous access is usually turned on when you wish your site to be accessible through the internet without anyone having to enter login credentials to enter. Keep in mind that before doing steps in this video, your IT department needs to turn on anonymous access at the IIS level and also need to open up the appropriate communication ports for exposing your portal on the internet.

Provisioning: Use Web Services Provisioning to Control Access, Usage, and Billing on Your Site

Building Web Services to provide enterprise-level solutions is only the first step. You need to take care of the infrastructure aspects of your solution as well, including provisioning, billing, security, and reporting. In this article, the author uses the .NET Framework and SQL Server 2000 to design a provisioning system that will take care of all these housekeeping tasks. He discusses the general requirements of a Web Service provisioning system, walks through the implementation, and then outlines various scenarios for putting this system to work.

Content deployment: pages not based on a page layout

Is it possible to use content deplyoment feature when pages (in page library) are not based on a Page Layout?

"Access is denied. Check that the Default Content Access Account has access to this content"

Our search is not working. The crawl log indicates following error: "Access is denied. Check that the Default Content Access Account has access to this content, or add a crawl rule to crawl this content. (The item was deleted because it was either not found or the crawler was denied access to it.)".

If I check the event viewer, it indicates following error: "Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'. [CLIENT: <local machine>]"

My default content access account is another one than this NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE account. The content access account password is correct. Apparently this content access account is translated to the NETWORK SERVICE account upon a crawl. And this network service account doesn't has the appropriate rights on database level. How can I fix this?

Turning off Crawling the Central Administration site?

There are 2 places that "Search Visibility" can be set on WSS3 servers:

Default > Site Settings > Search Visibility

Central Administration > Site Settings > Search Visibility

What are the ramifications of "hiding" the Central Administration site from search?
