Hanselminutes Podcast 227 - Inside Expression SuperPreview with developer Mike Calvo

Scott talks to Mike Calvo, a Microsoft Lead Developer based out of Minnesota (!) about Expression SuperPreview. SuperPreview helps developers and designers with cross-browser CSS and HTML issues. How'd they build it and with what? What's inside? How does the cloud fit in and how do they support Safari? I played with SuperPreview a bit last year, but started looking at it again last month when I noticed that version 4 has introduced support for Safari on Mac via a Cloud-based Remote Service. I fired up Expression SuperPreview 4, and saw this: Then I signed up: Which enabled Mac Safari for this initial beta. I assume they'll add a pile of other browsers. If I don't see immediate browser support for ALynx, the Amiga port of Unix...(read more)

Regular Expression to Match

Here is the kind of text I want to match via a regular Expression

The id="dgSchedule" is always present in the TAG but its location may differ

The table is span over multiple line/contains white spaces/tabs...

I have the regular expression to match the start and end tag respectively over a single line

\<table .*\>

The problem is to match the whole table span over multiple lines

<table cellspacing="0" rules="all" border="1" id="dgSchedule" style="border-style:None;height:100%;width:100%;border-collapse:collapse;">
	<tr class="blackbar" align="center" style="background-color:#7FB4DE;font-family:Verdana;font-weight:bold;height:20px;">

	</tr><tr style="background-color:#DEECF5;">
	</tr><tr style="background-color:#EFF5FA;">

asp expression bound to user control parameter?

How can I get pass the DataKey of a GridView to a usercontol, preferably without code behind.

Why doesn't this work:

<ucOrderDetails:AJAX_OrderDetail ID="od1" runat="server" OrderNumber='<%# GridView1.SelectedValue.ToString() %>'  />

GridView1 is just a list of orders with a DataKey of OrderNumber.

od1 is not inside of a databout control, does it need to be?

Convert 2005 RDLC to 2008 using VS2010

Hi and thanks.

I'm getting an error on serveral reports that I built  in VWD2005 (express) using the reportviewer control.  Trying to edit the rdlc file in VS2010, VS2010 asks if i want to convert the file to RDLC 2008 format and I click ok.  When I build the site, I get this error (and of course also when the report is ran):

Error 1 The report definition is not valid.  Details: The report definition has an invalid target namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2008/01/reportdefinition' which cannot be upgraded. C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mastercardlcm\Reports\WorkLists\OpenSRStatus.rdlc 1

Here is my web.config concerning the RDLC assemblies, etc.

Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression

Good Day Gurus!

I have a Excel user application which has a user form (named 'Registo') that displays criteria and an image that has been entered in it's corresponding spreadsheet. This works the way it should.  There's also the ability to search the spreadsheet via a form (by clicking 'Pesquisar' button) this opens a search form. However, I having a bit of a problem with it. When I try to search for something it basically doesn't do anything at all. It just sits there. So I tried to debug it and I think I'm having a problem with either the JET db engine or somethign with teh query or maybe I don't have the correct reference.

I 'borrowed' this Excel application from another forum because it's exactly what I'm looking for! However, I suck at vb.

So I was hoping somebody could take a look at the code and see if I'm missing something?  I'm kinda' desparate to get this working because I'm been trying to figure it out for days and I'm running out of time.  Cry

Need a regular expression

I have a required field validator for a texbox, but I just found out that the texbox can have a space in it (for a delimiter, let's say).

I checked the .net and regexlib.com, but couldn't find what I was looking for.

I simply need a regular expression that basically excepts any character string including spaces in it or even a space by itself

Can someone help me out?

Adding Totals to RDLC Matrix

I'm using a local RDLC report in VS2008 / .NET 3.5 which includes a Matrix.  It works fine and shows its corresponding Rows, Columns, and Data values as specified.

How can I add row totals / column totals in order to show sum of Data values both horizontally and vertically?
