how can i Register multi javascript files with RegisterClientScriptInclude method in OnPreRender

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 29, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

hi friends.

how can i use multi javascript files with RegisterClientScriptInclude method in custom server controls.

when i call two or more  RegisterClientScriptInclude method, this method registers only one of the javascript files.

protected override void OnPreRender(EventArgs e)
            string testJS = Page.ClientScript.GetWebResourceUrl(this.GetType(), "MyControl.js.testJS.js");
            string RichText = Page.ClientScript.GetWebResourceUrl(this.GetType(), "MyControl.js.RichText.js");
            this.Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptInclude(this.GetType(), "MyControl", testJS);
            this.Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptInclude(this.GetType(), "MyControl",RichText);

i registered javascript files in AssemblyInfo.cs like this :

[assembly: WebResource("MyControl.js.RichText.js", "text/javascript")]
[assembly: WebResource("MyControl.js.testJS.js", "text/javascript")]

Mission Impossible? Use Javascript to Disable a Multi-Line Rich Text Field

Hey Community,

Here's a tough one that I have struggled with and so far have not been able to find an answer for - how do you use Javascript to disable a multi-line rich text field.  I have customized a SP Edit form by adding a CEWP.  In the CEWP I have added the Javascript below (only a partial code sample provided) to disable several fields in the form.  The code works fine for single line text fields but it does not work for multi-line rich text fields.  Any suggestions?

<script language="javascript">
//This runs the function when the form first loads

//This locks the fields the users should not modify
function lockFields()
  var theInputTFTitle = getTagFromIdentifierAndTitle("Input","TextField","Title");
  theInputTFTitle.readOnly = true;
  theInputTFTitle.style.color = 'gray';
  //alert(" Value: " + theInputTFTitle.value);//for testing

   var theInputDDLReplyStatus = getTagFromIdentifierAndTitle("select","DropDownChoice","Reply Status");
  theInputDDLReplyStatus.disabled = true;
  //alert(" Value: " + theInputDDLReplyStatus.value);//for testing

Call a web method in Javascript

Hi All,

I am first time working on web service and Javascript and trying to call a Web Method (web service) on a button click in Javascript.

What I want to achieve is as followed: When the button is clicked, call the web method, get the return URL value and store it to a session variable, the redirect the page to another page. However, this works only when the internet traffic is fast, it give me error when internet is slow as the Javascript is executed much faster than the web service. Is there any way to handle this?  Would be much appreciated for your help! Cheers.

Code as below:

function emailButton_onClick()

function getCurrentMapURL(getCurrentMapURLOnSuccess)
var proxy_url = 'WebService/GPSWebService.asmx/GetCurrentMap';

var response = map.print([proxy_url]);

function getCurrentMapURLOnSuccess()
emailAddress = document.getElementById('txtEmailAddress').value;

if(emailAddress != null)
alert('Do you want to send report

Javascript at the end of aspx files. What is the benefit?

Hello,In one of the examples I saw a call to a JS function at the end of the aspx file.Like the following:<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">   <!--    SetExternal();   // --></script>I was under the impression that the JS functions are either called on onlclick of button events or in the HTML Body tag with Onload.So when an aspx page loads then do you thin the following function which is at the end of the page will be called? and why do we put these functions at the end of the page?Thanks.

OnPreRender method is Not called last because of objectDataSource

I have an Asp.net web form with several drop down list boxes on it. The way the code is currently set up is that the drop down listboxes are populated through use of an ObjectDataSource via a class named SpottedWeb, as referred to by the TypeName attribute. The problem is that sometimes I need to pre-select drop down list box items, but the ObjectDataSource seems to have the last say in loading the drop down listboxes. So any attempt to pre-select drop down listbox items is undone when my .Aspx code is executed. My attempt to fix this involved creating an OnPreRender method, because I thought it would have the last say with populating my listboxes. But this is not the case.So is there a way that I can have the OnPreRender method or some other C# method be called after the .Aspx page loads my drop downs with the objectDataSource? // Here is my OnPreRender method.         protected override void OnPreRender(EventArgs e)        {            base.OnPreRender(e);             if (Session["Indicator"] != null)            {                PrePopulateWebForm(); // Pre-Sele

Too many javascript files loading?

I recently ran yslow on a page i have (master paged etc) and it returned that there were far too many javascript files included (most of which I haven't added).

I guess my question is that given i have v1.0.20229.0 of the toolkit.dll (over .net 2)

I'm wondering if subsequent releases have fixes for this sort of thing?

cache javascript files

I've been trying to find a good example of exactly what I need to do to cache for some timeframe a set of javascript links.

For example in the masterpage I have the following script which I can't imagine changing for quite some time (say 6 months)

<script src="JavaScript/ImageLoading.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

Would be great if I could work out where and what to put to cache this for 6 months.

Accessing External Javascript files (.js) in VWD 2010 (.Net 4)

Hopefully I've selected the appropriate forum to post. If not, kindly let me know and I will post in that forum.

I have searched hundreds of posts over countless forums, but am unable to run a Javascript that is placed in a separate .js file. If the script is placed directly in the <HTML> and ASP markup, the script runs fine. I am a newbie at this and resolution may be quite simple. But I cannot figure it out.

I have simplied the example down to a single .aspx page with a single button and the codebehind in VB, knowing that if I cannot get this working, I certainly won't be able to get my real scripts working.

I am currently running VWD 2010 on the .Net 4 framework. I've been working on this problem on and off over the past 3 weeks and simply cannot get it to work, so I continue to insert the code directly into the markup. I have tried countless changes to the following code, but not once able to get it to work.

Any help, suggestions or recommendations will be graciously accepted and very much appreciated.

The .aspx page is as follows:

<%@ Page Language="VB" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="Test_Script.aspx.vb" Inherits="Test_Script" %>

How to upload files to remote machine using FTP or other method in VB.Net 2005 (Windows Application)

I have to create an application to upload and download files using FTP.
Are there any classes, methods in VB.Net 2005(Windows Application) to do this?

I have created a small GUI for this.

It contains 4 text boxes - Path of Local file to be uploaded, IP address of remote machine, User name and password of remote machine At last there is one Transfer button when I click on this transfer button that file should get copied to the remote machine.

I tried this using FTPWebRequest class by reading example in msdn.

But to connect to remote machine it requires URI format of FTP and I only have IP address of that remote machine. I think there is no web server on that remote machine.

Should I need to install web server on that remote machine.

Or is there any other method to do upload files to remote machine ?
