Unable to open MSDB node

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 28, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
I'm sure there is a simple answer to this but it eludes me at the moment.
I'm using the Developer Edition of SQL Server 2005.

The MSDB node under Integration Services->Stored Packages refuses to open.
It always fails with a login timeout message and that the connection was
actively refused.

I've run the SQL Server Surface Area Configuration tool and allowed remote
and local access, even though it's all installed on the local machine. This
didn't help.

The next thing I did was to turn off all my firewalls and internet access
control software and it's still not working.

I'm using integrated authentication and the user is part of the
administrators group,
any ideas how I can try and rectify this?

Unable to open pdf from document library MOSS 2007

When I click on a pdf document uploaded in a document library it comes up with a blank page.

I guess it's trying to open pdf on the browser. I turned off "Display PDF in browser " option in Adobe Preferences, but it doesn't help, same issue.

I tried other browsers too, it's the same issue.

I am able to open all other pdf files local to my machine fine.

I am using IE 8 on my machine (Windows 7) and the Sharepoint server is MOSS 2007.

Hi, I work in the creation of a portal in SPS 2003. We found that some documents whose size was greater than 1 Mb can no longer be opened. Word returns a runtime error "1177". When we restart the farm ,problem is resolved but reappeared after several hours .We have tried to restart the database to see if it could solve the problem, the problem is not corrected. Then we restarted the front-end web services SharePoint, this does not work. Then we did an IIS reset, the problem is not corrected. This problem affects all types of documents (pdf, doc, ppt, xls ...). Thanks for your help. Best Regards. Mawi. + DEVELOPER

Unable to open design view

I have SSRS 2008(native), BIDS and VS  2008 (9.0.30729.1 SP) on Windows 7 Pro.I have a working report and today I cannot "View Designer" for my report. When I load the project, it automatically goes into rdl:code view. When I right click on the report, I see the option to view code or view designer, and select view designer, it produces a second copy of the rdl:code view. The rdl is good because: - I can build the project and the build succeeds. - I can run the rdl (right click, run) and it produces the preview of the report. Then, I started a new simple project, went through the wizard and still - no design view. This simple project also builds correctly and produces a preview report.I have checked this, and other forums but I find myself (sort of) alone in this quandary! So, how (and why) did I lose the designer view? Please help....Usman Suleman

Unable to open an Excel File in Sharepoint MOSS 2007

I am unable to open an excel file in Sharepoint (MOSS 2007). All other documents work fine. As far as I know there was no change on the Server at all.

Excel found unreadable content in 'stuff.xls'. Do you want to recover the contents of this workgroup? If you trust the source of this workbook , click Yes

When I click YES >> It says "Excel recovered your formulas and cell values, but some data may have been lost." And then a link to an xml file , which reads :

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
- <recoveryLog xmlns="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/spreadsheetml/2006/main">
  <summary>Errors were detected in file 'http://server_name/Project_name/Shared Documents/abc - def/Phase 5/Track/stuff.xls'</summary>
- <additionalInfo>
<info>Excel recovered your formulas and cell values, but some data may have been lost.</info>

Now this has resulted in huge loss of data and I can see New numbers in the cells which is very strange!

Is there a way I can get it back ? I do not have a

Unable to open a site in Sharepoint Designer

I am trying to connect my SharePoint Designer 2007 to sharepoint sites on a remote Windows Server 2003 created on ports other than 80. But it throws an error "The folder ['http://servername:12345/'] isn't accessible. The folder may be located in an unavailable location, protected with a password, or the filename contains a / or \."

But when I try to connect the port 80, it successfully does.

Today when i try to open the my share point site through browser, but am unable to open it browser. and when i try to open it from the Designer, it shows "Could not found the Web server at 'MyServer' on port 8989". When it Checked in IIS, the sites are not available inside it, and it check through Central admin there the the corresponding Web applications are available. Unable to select start node in flowchart?

This is weird. I'm trying to get my feet wet with WF 4 and have dropped a flowchart onto the design surface. After adding another activity I want to connect it to the Start node, but it's not available for selecting?!? It's visible but no box appears around it on mouse over.

Another symptom I noticed is that when I double-click a workflow xaml file, it's not loading the designer, but the xml view instead.

I tried repairing my VS2010 install but nothing has changed.

Unable to open the physical file. Using Asp.net Forms and VB.net Project

I Hope I can explain and express this well.. I'm getting tired figuring out this error. Well, Basically. I have uploaded my ASP.net website to a server (IIS installed) as well as the VB project I made.

BOTH are connecting to a DB named CLIENTS.

the website uses a datagrid to show data, while the VB Project updates the DB based on a monitored folder.

The Problem is If the website is opened first the VB project shows an error "Unable to open the physical file (MDF). Operating system error 32 (error not found)"

and Vice Versa if the VB project is first started.

Please Help.
