PowerPivot Report is unable to connect database after uploading onto SharePoint 2010

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 28, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi All,

I have developed one PowerPivot Report in excel 2010 and uploaded into SharePoint 2010. The report has slicers and filters which are working pretty well in excel 2010.

I'm able to open the report through sharepoint browser and  if click on any slicer getting the following error.

An error occurred during an attempt to establish a connection to the external data source. The following connections failed to refresh:

Also i'm unable to see the filter on the report.

I have got some info on google regarding 'Claims to windows token service' should up and run. But, i'm still getting the same after enabling 'Claims to windows token service' as well.

Please help me in this regard.

Thanks & Regards,

Siva.

Stuck installing Sharepoint 2010 - Config Wizard saying Cannot connect to database master

Hi all

I have setup 2 servers in hyper-v.
SERVER-SQL = SQL 2008 R2
and
SERVER-SHP = Sharepoint 2010
both running on windows server 2008 R2.
Both servers are joined to the same domain, have fixed ip addresses and can ping each other.

When I get to the part in Sharepoint 2010 setup where I'm runnng "Sharepoint Products Configuration Wizard" where I specify the database server and name and username and password I get the following error which I can't get past "Cannot connect to database master at SQL server at SERVER-SQL. The database might not exist, or the current user does not have permission to connect to it."

I have read the following link and followed it but the problem remains
http://andreasglaser.net/post/2009/11/18/Installing-SharePoint-Server-2010-on-Windows-Server-2008-R2-and-SQL-Server-2008-R2-Part-5-Administrative-and-service-accounts.aspx

I don't see where it is falling over as the username and password is the domain administrator one (have also tried the spAdmin) mentioned to setup in the above link. And it says at the notes at the top of the page that if the database (SharePoint_Co

Report Builder 3.0 unable to access SharePoint Foundation 2010 Report Server

I am having a terrrible time getting this to work. I have configured the SharePoint site and the SQL Servers involved to use Kerberos. That has been confirmed working.

I then configured the SharePoint site's Reporting Services integration (trusted account), enabled anonymous access and enabled report builder. I can launch report builder without any issues at all. The problem comes when I try to save my report. When Report Builder is started Items->New-ReportBuilder Report it opens and display in the lower left hand corner "No current report server." When I close the Wizard dialog and click connect I enter http://server.fqdn.net and I receive the following error:

Connection failed:

Unable to connect to the server that is specified in the URL, 'http://servername.fqdn.net/'.

Make sure that the server is running, the URL is correct, and you have permission to use the server.

I have also tried http://servername.fqdn.net/reportsserver/. When I try that I receive a login prompt. When I enter my credentials it tries for a few seconds and then sends another login prompt. I installed the report server using default settings. The reporting services db is on the same server as sharepoint. The configuration and other databases are on a remote S

SharePoint 2010 backup is failing - Error - "Unable to read full interval from database - Operation

Hi,

I am having a problem backing up a site collection, when trying to backup the collection I get the following error "Unable to read full interval from database" and "operation is not valid due to the current state of the object".

The backup does run and manages to backup 182MB of the site collection and then the backup fails, it fails at the same point what ever backup method I use e.g. STSADM, Powershell or Central Admin.

I'm getting the same error whether I use CA "granular backup" or "Farm backup", and using either STSAMD or Powershell. I can backup CA or the mysite collection but not the Home Portal site collection. I even tried installing the commuvaults 2010 agents and running a commuvault backup but this is also failing. i have included the log file entry below.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do to either fix the problem or an alternative way to backup the collection or farm, I am currently taking a full SQL backup but am not sure how reliable this is as I haven't tried to restore the sites.

P.S. I am not using the "UseSQLSnapshot" parameter.
