I have a document library with the standard name column linking to the document. However, we'd like to create a custom field and have that link to the document (and edit item menu).
How is this best accomplished?
Thanks in advance!
Is There any one know how to link document library folder is to external site
I posted this question on the Office Powerpoint forum and did not get much response so thought I would try here. Here is the link to that post
I'm running Windows 7 with Office 2010. We have a Sharepoint 2007 server. Whenever I click a link from our Intranet site I get the error "this application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications's
support team for more information." It asks if I want to open in safe mode and I say yes and it never opens.
During testing I also find that if I have a blank powerpoint .ppt file that I try to save to the same document library on the same site it works fine, but if I try to save a blank .pptx file to the site I get the same runtime error.
This does not happen on all powerpoint or office documents being opened from the Intranet. If I boot to safe mode it works fine. If I copy the files local they work fine. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Thanks so much!!!
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to create a link from a document library to a UNC path?
I needÃÂ to establish links to resources in an existing document repository, but Sharepoint presents the following message when attempting to add the link "Enter a valid document name and URL. Valid URLs must begin with 'http:' or 'https:'"
Thanks in advance.
On a pretty vanilla SharePoint document library, a particular user browsing with IE8 can click on the document icon or the title link for a Word document but nothing happens. Other document types were not tested, so I can't say
if it was specific to Word documents. The user can however pull up the menu at the right of the title and select "Open in Microsoft Office Word" which will open the document in Word and is then able to modify and save the document.
The behavior has not been observed from other users using IE8. I've reviewed the users Internet Options settings and didn't see anything out of the ordinary and tried disabling pop-up blocker and other potentially interfering features without changing
the observed behavior. The user is from a different location and his configuration may or may not represent the stock configuration at that site, so I can't dismiss it without determining whether it would affect all users at his site. Word 2007
is installed on the user's machine.
Does this sound familiar? Any suggestions for troubleshooting?
I have a SharePoint 2010 farm that was upgraded from MOSS 2007.
I have noticed that in some of my document libraries, there is a tick box next to each item in the list, and an Add Document link at the bottom of the list, but in other Document libraries, the tick box and link are not there.
How do I get these to display for all document libraries?
How do you link a Doc library to another Doc library?
I am developing a custom workflow using Sharepoint Designer 2007 in which workflow has to send a notification email with a link to a document which is in another document library. For eg: Doc A in Library A ( to which workflow is attached) sending an
email with a link to Doc B in Library B.(Doc B is a document having specific information about Doc A.) Can this be done? When i tried, i am getting HTTP 404 error. Workflow is initiated manually. I am having site collection Admin rights.
Has anyone done this? Any help appreciated. Thanks in Advance.
This is very urgent and high priority business requirement. Kindly help me to accomplish the below task.
There should be an option to “Discuss” certain document. Note that the discussion MUST be linked to the document.
If the “Discuss” dropdown is pressed – a new discussion thread should be created.
I am posting this here, because the error message is a little misleading: It will say that you may have an incompatible field types, corrupt fields, or fields are mandatory and should not be. As a remedy it's suggested to either make them non-mandatory fields
or to delete them and recreate them.
Solution: Just lookup to your field without the "link to item" option.
On my development server, I created a forms library and somehow or other, I have managed to work it that the Add Document link below the library list, actually creates a new form from the default template, rather than uploading one, this is perfect and much
I'm now trying to repeat this process in a document library and can't figure it out. Can anyone tell me how I might have done this in the Forms Library???
