On the following code I added a captcha control. When I click submit,  the OnCreatingUser is never called. But when I removed the captcha control it works. How do I add the captcha?  Thanks

reCaptcha+jquery ui modal dialog

Hi, I would like to have a contact form which contains a reCaptcha, and have that form inside a jquery ui modal dialog. All works well, except that I have a submit button for the form - which closes the modal dialog wether the recaptcha is valid or invalid. I tried adding onClientClick="return false;" to the submit button, but it still posts back, and closes the dialog. how do I remain inside the dialog ?

CreateUserWizard not showing a duplicate user message

I'm using emails as the user name, and I've got requiresUniqueEmail="true" in the web.config.I have an empty CreatingUser method, and in CreatedUser I perform a couple of table entries with the new user. When I try to add a user with an email that's already in use, I get a the default success message.  But no user is added, andit doesn't reach the CreatedUser method.I must be missing something.  Ideas?

Require Unique eMail Address in CreateUserWizard?

I want my users' email addresses to be unique.  I have looked around and found various examples of code to add to the web.config file that all look similar to the following: <membership defaultProvider="CustomizedMembershipProvider"> <providers> <add name="CustomizedMembershipProvider" type="System.Web.Security.SqlMembershipProvider" connectionStringName="xmxmxmxmm" requiresUniqueEmail="true" maxInvalidPasswordAttempts="5" passwordAttemptWindow="10" minRequiredPasswordLength="8" minRequiredNonalphanumericCharacters="1"/> </providers> </membership> However...whenever I add this to the web.config file and run the page with the CreateUserWizard I get the following error: Parser Error Message: Unrecognized configuration section membership. I am building a website based on .Net 3.5 using Visual Studio 2008. Does anybody know how I can add the <membership> section to the web.config so that these CreateUserWizard parameters can be added...or...is there another way of going about this altogether? Many thanks in advance...MDCragg

CreateUserWizard creating dupicate user while assigning Role.

protected void CreateUserWizard1_CreatedUser(object sender,  EventArgs e){Roles.AddUserToRole((sender as CreateUserWizard).UserName, "Customers");} CreateUserWizard is creating dupicate user while assigning Role. How can we assign Role without duplicating user record? I've observed ApplicationID for assigning Role is Differenent than Creating New User, so when ever Role assigning comes in, it creates  same user again with new UserID. Is it related to Web.Config in some way? As when I try to create user from "VisualStudio/Website/ASP.net Configuration" even then two users with same usernames are entered in aspnet_users with Different ApplicationID and UserID. One user has Role and another duplicate user is without Role status of IsApproved=1.Please help me to resolve this issue. Thanks!

CreateUserWizard creates 2 user at the same time

Hi there, I couldnt figure this out after 5 hours of pondering and frustration. Why is that CreateUserWizard component always create 2 users having the same UserName in table aspnet_users for each user registration? I just dont understand why? Please, relieve me of my frustration and torment. Thanks in advance.

Prevent duplicate entry into aspnet_profile table through CreateUserWizard?

Is it possible to setup the CreateUserWizard to check for a duplicate entry in the aspnet_profile table (for a custom field) before the new user is created?  For example, if I added a phone number field and wanted to make sure nobody else could create an account using that same phone number if a user already has an account with that phone number in the aspnet_Profile table's PropertyValuesString row?

editing CreateUserWizard Control

i have used createuserwizard control in my project (v.s 2010 ) using c# and i want to do some modifications like i have to set user roles automatically while registering,

Best way to add additional fields to CreateUserWizard

I'm using the ASP.NET Membership system to add new users to my site. It's working fine. But I'd like to force the user to enter additional required information (on a different aspx page) before they can successfully complete the registration process.

What is the easiest way to direct and force the user to complete a different page of fields (stored in SQL in columns located on the same table as the basic membership fields) as a condition of completing the registration process?  In searching different sites, I see additional properties and templates like Wizard Steps, Continue button, Finish button---but I'm not clear as to which of these (perhaps none of them?) will allow me to accomplish this goal.

Any thoughts and/or examples would be appreciated.

Thank you.

ValidationSummary Bulletlist mode in CreateUserWizard

On the following code, when I clicked submit, why the validation summary does not use the Bulletlist mode to show errors?

Show custom message in CreateUserWizard ErrorMessage control

How can I show a custom error message in CreateUserWizard ErrorMessage Control?

go back to Create User Step on CreateUserWizard control

I'm using a CreateUserWizard do add users to a web app. Everything is working great, but on thing... the Complete Step :-/

I don't need that extra step, and more, i'm using this control as an option where the administrator of the application adds his trusted users to the site. So, its part of a web form that has a list of users on one side and the CreateUserWizard on the other.

What i tried to do, and was unsuccessful, was to change the ActiveStepIndex back to 0 then the user creation was completed, but this didn't work. The Complete Step still appears. Also, i added this to the continue button event and it did nothing either: CreateUserWizard1.ActiveStepIndex = 0;

Is there any way i can "hide" this step? If not, is there a way to go back to the Create User Step when i click the Continue button in the Complete Step?

CreateUserWizard with extra profile info

I'm using the CreateUserWizard and it's working great.  I do have a "step2" that asks the newly created user their first name and last name.  Seems simple enough, but I'm getting an error on the Profile.Save(): "This property cannot be set for anonymous users".  I'm assuming this is due to the fact that I have DisableCreatedUser="true" for the CreateUserWizard, which is what I NEED to do.  Does this mean that until we enable this user, they can't add these few columns?  Since the site I am updating requires matching a newly registered user to an already existing "Artist" table, it's important that the administrators are given the first and last name of the user.  The aspnet_User table doesn't have that, so I thought I'd give the profile a try.  Am I missing something??

Need to fix this error : Type 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.CreateUserWizard' does not have a public

Hi all,

i am usingVWD 2010 andwant to create a website supported under .net 3.5.

The deafault mater page has the loging pgaes already set up (.net 4.0) which is very good and helping to start.

But once i changed my project to run under .Net 3.5 , i could not have the account register webpage working and getting this error :

Parser Error Message: Type 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.CreateUserWizard' does not have a public property named 'LayoutTemplate'.

Any idea how can i fix this issue ??

Thanks ..

Odd issue with createuserwizard--can't see controls I add to template in code behind in .net 4.0

I was able to customize the createuserwizard in .net 3.5 with no problems.  I could add controls like the dropdownlist for city and state.  In the code behind, I was able to reference these controls by name, such as ddlstate.  However, I'm creating a new site from the ground up in .net 4.0 and was trying to edit the website that visual web developer 2010 creates when you create a new web site.  I went to the register.aspx page and added the city and state dropdowns.  In the code behind, I can't reference them as ddlstate anymore.  I even tried setting the clientidmode to static at the page level since I know the control names get mangled but that didn't help either.  However, the project builds fine as long as I don't attempt to reference the dropdownlist by name in the code behind.

I'm also using jquery that I pulled from a working .net 3.5 site I had that gets errors when trying to reference the dropdownlist by name in .net 4.0.  The error says "ddlstate" is not a member of "asp.account_register_aspx".  The dropdownlist is set to runat server so I'm really confused why both my jquery and code behind can't seem to see the control in the createuserwizard control.  If I move the dropdownlist outside of the createuserwizard, it can see it and use it just fine.  A
