Sharepoint 2010 Business Intelligence integration with datasources other than MS SQL Server

I want to Implement Business Intelligence by SharePoint 2010 on top of data sources other than MS SQL Server or MS Analytics Services ( cubes ), for example Oracle RDBMS and Oracle OLAP ( cube ) or Teradata. Quesiton : Is there any way to do this, if the is, how do I bring metadata to sharepoint BI or how do I make SharePoint BI to see other data source. I've looked at Busines Data Connectivity in Visual Studio, but that is more for two way integration and didn't seem like a good or easy way just to bring new data sources to SharePoint BI I found some tool from third party company "BDC Meta Man" which created metadata layer for Oracle RDBMS in SharePoint, but I thought there must be a way to do it by using Microsoft tools

Business Intelligence Issues SQL Server R2

I have an extensive Report library surfaced in SP2007, no problem at all. However, we have recently upgraded our systems, and Im now using SP2010. I've created a reports area as the repository, and opened the project in VSBIS 2008, changed the URLS and an error occurs. I can deploy the .rdl files no worries, but the .rds file throws the following error - collected from the eventlog

' The file you are attempting to save or retrieve has been blocked from this Web site by the server administrators.'

I have looked at the blocked file types and .rds isn't in there.

All in all im a bit confused by SP2010 and SSRS reports. Any pointers or help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

SQL Server Business Intelligence (MAPS)

Powerful Geographical Visualisations made easy with SQL 2008 Spatial (Part 1)
The Spatial components for SQL Server are new to the 2008 release, they are a core part of the server product (excluding compact edition) rather then an extra add-on or product version. There are some great walk through''s of the full functionality available, I highly recommend David Lean's samples 1 through 9 for a run through of all the new functionality available.

Something very simple to visualise within the built-in spatial viewer of Management Studio are the countries of the World:

CLR Integration With Microsoft SQL Server

Transact-SQL provides as much flexibility as possible but, because it is not a real programming language, it has some shortcomings about many issues (memory management, exception handling, debugging, file processing (or streaming), object-orientation (classes), or thread management). Transact-SQL also lacks features of normal libraries (arrays, collections, serialization, expressions, or string manipulations, etc).

User Defined Functions in Microsoft SQL Server

User Defined Functions are compact pieces of Transact SQL code, which can accept parameters, and return either a value, or a table. They are saved as individual work units, and are created using standard SQL commands. Data transformation and reference value retrieval are common uses for functions. LEFT, the built in function for getting the left part of a string, and GETDATE, used for obtaining the current date and time, are two examples of function use. User Defined Functions enable the developer or DBA to create functions of their own, and save them inside SQL Server.

Business Intelligence Development Studio

I installed Visual studio 2008. I want to open Reports. I want to install Business Intelligence development studio for that.

May I know how to install that one. Is Business Intelligence development studio comes with Visual studio 2008.

Please tell me, I m new to this concept.

Business Intelligence Reports Project in Visual studio 2008 ?

I wonder how to add a project template called  Intelligence Reports, something like that, to Visual studio 2008. I have SQL 2008 installed. Do I need to install some updates to get Intelligence Reports template to Visual studio 2008 ?

Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System is a new technology that brings the advanced features of Visual Studio .NET and the .NET Framework to applications built for Microsoft Office Word 2003 and Microsoft Office Excel 2003. Deploying solutions built with this technology requires that you understand how runtime security is enforced in managed applications and how to configure users' systems to run your solutions without introducing security holes. To promote that understanding, this article will demonstrate how to establish trust, explain policy considerations and permissions, and explain what trusted code is all about. Secure assembly deployment is also covered in detail.

ISA Server 2004: Developing an Application Filter for Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration S

The beta version of Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004 is now publicly available. It includes a rich SDK with several extensibility mechanisms that allow third parties to integrate their specialized solutions on top of the ISA platform. In this article, the author explores the application filter extensibility mechanism, which enables you to add high-level application layer filtering capabilities to ISA Server and to provide rich content filtering solutions. He also highlights the new features of the ISA Server 2004 SDK, then moves on to describe how to develop a basic application filter that monitors all data going through the ISA Server, and how to integrate a filter into the ISA Server management console to create a seamless interface experience for your users.
