A connection could not be made to the report server - Problem deploying an SSRS report from Business

I’m having trouble with what seems to be a common issue for people, regarding deployment of an SSRS report from Business Intelligence Development Studio. Unfortunately none of the solution I have seen posted here (and elsewhere) have been able to help me so far.   Two of my collegaues can both deploy with no problem, and I am using exactly the same Target destinations as them (TargetDataSourceFolder, TargetReportFolder, TargetServerURL).   I have posted the error message below, which from my basic understaning would indicate, I think, a security issue (perhaps something local to my PC, or user account)   Has anyone experienced this particular issue who might be able to help?   Best wishes, Jamie TITLE: Microsoft Report Designer ------------------------------ A connection could not be made to the report server http://turpin-net.turpin-bg.local/Reportserver. ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Client found response content type of 'text/html; charset=utf-8', but expected 'text/xml'. Hello All, I have read thru numerous posts and have reviewed several links with no luck.  I am trying to use gmail smtp servers (smtp.gmail.com) to configure SSRS 2008 to send email.  It's running on Server 2003 Standard SP2. SSRS 2008 R2 Subscriptions Tab Missing From Report

We are running SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard This server has been upgraded from SQL Server 2008 Standard and previously from SQL 2005.  Since the upgrade we have noticed that the Subscriptions Tab is no longer available from within reports.  I can still subscribe to a report from the report manager page by selecting subscribe from the drop down.  Our report server fulfills the criteria for the tab to be available (We have a mail server configured,  Permissions on each report are correct and the credentials are stored in the datasource) and it was available before the upgrade.  Since our end users do not access the report manager page but link to each report directly we need this tab to be enabled.  Is there some other setting we need to change to enable this?

Server 2008 R2 64 bit, SSRS 2008 64 bit with Report Builder 3.0 issues with Oracle OLE Driver

Folks, ran out of idea on this issues. Setup as shown at the Title. I can connect via VS 2010  but report builder cannot run properly when setup with connection string. I use a 32 bit Oracle Driver and VS 2010 works well with it, however, Report Builder on SSRS report a bad image issues while attempting to use the same driver. What have been tried: 1-Already attempted to try to download Oracle ODP drivers 64 bit, but current driver 11g and minor version above 11g does not install, installation failed. So far all chats indicated that Server 2008 R2 does not have a Oracle 64 bit driver provided y Oracle. Any help is appreciated ....

SSRS 2008 - report manager: System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server

I have an instance of Reporting Services 2008 running on Windows 2003 server.  So, the webservice URL is running on port 801, and runs fine (I can browse reports from that directory, and upload / deploy new reports and overwrite existing reports. Report manager is set to use port 800 (IIS is also on that machine running port 80).  When I attempt to connect to report manager, I get the following error, with a link to "Home" in report manager (which brings me back to the existing error page):    Unable to connect to the remote server  In the logfiles for reporting services, the following error is there: " System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.   Any ideas? Windows Firewall is NOT running on this machine.   Thanks, Chrisrjp

Report Builder 3.0 Compatibility with SSRS and Sql Server 2008 (not R2)

I've built reports in Report Builder 3.0 (which I love!). I tried to deploy the reports to an instance of SSRS installed with SQL Server 2008 (not R2). I can't deploy the reports - it appears SSRS is not forward compatible with Report Builder 3.0 reports. Would SQL Server 2008 SP1 help? Is there anything I can do to use Report Builder 3.0 with SSRS 2008?

Unfortunately, I cannot install SQL Server 2008 R2 in the production environment (yet).

SSRS Schedule Subscriptions - SQL Server Agent Job Name

We are beginning to use SSRS a lot and have noticed that when it creates the SQL Server Agent job for a subscribed/scheduled report in Report Manager the name it generates is a "gibberish" GUID (.i.e. 437D4E5B-CB2A-421B-B84F-B54C9D8BD52A).

Looking at the SQl Server Agent job there doesn't appear to be any way in looking at that jobs properties that tells you which Scheduled Report it is running.

Is there any way thru a script or otherwise to find this easily?

Generating SSRS report by taking data both from sql server and web service.

is this possible in ssrs ?

SSRS - Retreiving generated Parameters from Report Server created by using StoredParametersID

SSRS - Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Version 9.00.4309.00

Problem - StoredParametersID is an rs: (report server) parameter and is not a valid Report Parm and can not be used in web services calls as a parameter. It can not be used as <deviceinfo> and it cannot be used as a "ReportPath" in the web services call.

How can I retreive the current set of generated parameters that are created on the report server side, so I can use these to make a web services call to retreive the Drill Down report since the only method to retreive the report information seems to be a Report URL call with the StoredParametersID included.

SSRS 2008 Report Manager only accessible within the server, cannot open on a different PC

How should I configure my SQL 2008 Reporting Services so that the Report Manager can be accessed outside the server.  That is, from a different machine within the same network?  Whenever I try to access the Report Manager from another machine, a prompt will appear requesting for username/password several times before a blank page is shown.

Reporting Services Configuration Details:
Service Account: Local System
Execution Account: Tried using my own login details within the domain and tried without it

Please let me know if you need any other details.  I am running out of ideas on what I can possibly do, thanks!

Granting administrator privileges to the SSRS Report Server

I have SQL server 2008 R2 installed on a Windows Vista PC. I've been learning the SSRS reporting features. When I try a report deployment, I get this error:

Error 1 The permissions granted to user 'mmosias-PC\mmosias' are insufficient for performing this operation.

When I try to launch the Report Manager to define roles and access privileges, I get this error message:

User 'mmosias-PC\mmosias' does not have required permissions. Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed.

I am an administrator on this PC. Is there a configuration missing for SSRS on my PC to be able to fix this?

Thank you.

Martine

SSRS Report Manager and Server do not work outside of Head Office

Good Day

We have recently started to transfer our current GP8 system into GP10 for the Head Office and CRM for our stores.  The stores no longer have access to Great Plains so we have re-created all the smartlists they used in GPO8 into SSRS and have published them to the Report Server (using SSRS 2008), the problem is they are unable to access the data via //{hostmachine}/reports or //{hostmachine}/reportserer.

CRM is no problem (via //{hostmachine}:5555/) and again any reports within CRM running off of companyname _MSCRM database, but accessing the report manager or report server brings back a blank page; not even the headers:

The odd thing about it is that it generates no error which has made it difficult for me to search for a solution.

I have tried adding port numbers 80 and 8080 to the url link but to no avail.  I do not believe it is a credentials issue as a logon prompt does not pop-up (where as every time CRM loads it requests for the user's credentials).  The only thing I have noticed is that if it's someone within the Head Office or someone who has VPNed onto our server it is fine (Head office ip 192.168.247.xxx, the VPN gives an address within the same range). The

Version: SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard - SQL Reporting Services

SSRS - Subscriptions - Can I tell a report substription to save the report to a specfic folder based on a field value in the report?

The report has a field called TestID. This value changes everytime the report runs for a new Test. For each new Test, I want to be able to save the report to a folder on my C drive that represents the TestID being processed. When you choose "Save to File System" you have the option of specifiying a location. Can that location be changed based on the TestID of the report being generated? Something like, "C:\MyReports\" + @TestID + "\".
