trying to use custom assembly with script task in SSIS 2008 - can't find correct version of GACUtil

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 28, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

I am trying to use a custom assembly (compiled with VS 2005 framework 2.0) with SSIS 2008.  I understand that I need to put this Assembly in the GAC.  I initially attempted to do this using the GACUtil, but I apparently only have version 1.1 of GACUtil intalled on my development PC.  Shouldn't version 2.0 have been installed as part of VS 2005?

So I then tried simply copying the dll into the GAC folder using windows explorer.  Well, the dll is now visibly in the GAC folder, but I cannot see it from either VS 2005 or BIDS 2008.  Does that mean I do need to use GACUtil 2.0 or higher to install the DLL into the GAC?  If so, is there any place on the Web that I can download it?

Can't find "Analysis Management Objects" in SSIS Script Task reference

I am trying to connect to an Analysis services cube through my script task. To achieve this, i will have to use the Microsoft.AnalysisServices namespace. For this, I need to add a reference in my Project explorer space, to "Analysis management Objects" . However, I am not able to find this. Does any one know where I can find the dll file required for this, or why it's not showing in the 'Add Reference' of my script task?

SSIS: return list of custom objects after a Script Task

I'm having problems returning a list of self-created .NET objects to a SSIS object variable.

In my SSIS Script Task I'm calling:

Dim fileList As List(Of FileNameEntityDate) = read.getFileNameEntityDate

Directly after this call, It is populated as the size of the List != 0:

Now, I'm trying to return that list to SSIS using variables:

Dts.Variables("oFilenameEntityDate").Value = fileList

oFilenameEntityDate is defined in SSIS as being an Object.
It is also placed in my 'Script Task' under 'ReadWriteVariables'.

When I watch that variable, it seems empty:

- User::oFilenameEntityDate
	Type	__ComObject
	Value	System.__ComObject

What should I do to get this working? Thanks!!

Calling C# Assembly from SSIS Script Task

Hi All,

I am extracting very nasty file from our source. Before we used to run that file thru our C# sharp program and changed it to pipe delimited file. Then with then help of our in house ETL tool we load it to our staging table in SQL server.

Now  how to load that nastly file, then run C# sharp  and load into destination ( all in SSIS)?

Can we call that C-sharp program from SSIS?

Problem:Application is throw an exception when it tries to use above assembly reference methods. C# newbie stuck - trying to access column data in a SharePoint list in an SSIS script task

Hello, I'm sure this is the simplest question but I can't figure it out, even with Google's help. I am trying to stumble through some C# code in an SSIS script task and I am frustrated that I can't figure out how to do the easiest things.  I eventually want to find data in a column, and then use another list as a lookup to replace that value with another where the existing value matches a value in the lookup list.  So, the data in my (multiple choice) column might be "apples; bananas" and in another list I have a row that contains two columns, the first holding the value "Apples" and the second containing "Red Delicious" and my original column should read: "Red Delicious; bananas." But, alas, I can't even figure out how to see the data that is in a column. Here is my code: /*<br/> Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services Script Task<br/> Write scripts using Microsoft Visual C# 2008.<br/> The ScriptMain is the entry point class of the script.<br/> */<br/> <br/> using System;<br/> using System.Data;<br/> using Microsoft.SharePoint;<br/> using Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime;<br/> using System.Windows.Forms;<br/> using Microsoft.SharePoint.Utilities;<br/> <br/> namespace ST_08becda4c05c49cd9f30ea76110076cd.csproj<br/> {<br/> [

Post Upgade task, Upgrading SSIS Pacakges to SQL Server 2008.

Hi, I am trying to upgrade sql 2005 packages to sql 2008 after doing in-place upgrade of DE and SSIS. Can I know what packageformat column in msdb.dbo.sysssispackages refer to, as according to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc879336.aspx the value should be 2 if the package is in sql 2005 and it should be 3 if it is upgraded. But I am seeing only 0 or 1.   Can I know any other method to figure out version of the ssis packages? I am having issues upgrading SSIS Packages from 2005 to 2008, using SSIS package upgrade wizard.   Thanks for your help. Regards, KRanp.

SSIS - Script task - Web refrerences do not add at first or second attempt

Problem happens on 3 different PC's with BIDS installed.   Steps to reproduce: - New SSIS project - Drop Script Task - Edit its code - Add Web Reference - Specify a web service and click add reference - Close script task code editing window - Open script task code editing window - Reference is gone - But you CANNOT add another reference with the SAME name, it will get "1" at its end! - Try to add same web refernece again, it will have "1" at its end - Close script task code editing window - Open script task code editing window - You have 50% chance for reference to stay, 50% chance that it will disappear AGAIN! - But you now cannot add another reference with name or name1! - Try to add same web reference AGAIN and it will have 2 at its end - Close script task code editing window - Open script task code editing window - I have never got the reference2 to disappear... yet Please can someone just tell me... WHAT THE ... IS HAPPENING?

SQL Server 2008 Script Componant Error - [SSIS.Pipeline] Error: component "Script Comp Name" (48) fa

Hi All,   I am facing one strange issue in SSIS 2008. I have developed one SSIS package which is importing excel data into SQL Server 2008. This Package contains some Scirpt componants. This package is working fine on Windows XP machine but when I am trying to run on Windows 2003 server it gives me error "[SSIS.Pipeline] Error: component "SCR RDSTableRelation" (48) failed the post-execute phase and returned error code 0x80004002". Surprising thing is that if on windows server 2003server  if I drag a new script componat and paste the previous script code itself then it works fine. Even if I copy-paste the existing script componant and give source-destination connectino to this new script componant then also it works.
