Customising the ribbon - Can't get my FlyoutAnchor menu to have controls over more than one column

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 28, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi All,

I am a custom tab in the SharePoint 2010 ribbon. Everything is working correctly except that the controls in my FlyoutAnchor Menu are all in one column. I want them displayed in a similar fashion to the Page Layout button options. Can anyone point me in the correct direction?

Here's my code:

<Scaling Id="SharePoint.Ribbon.ContentTab.Scaling">

 <MaxSize Id="SharePoint.Ribbon.ContentTab.ContentGroup.Scaling.MaxSize" GroupId="SharePoint.Ribbon.ContentTab.ContentGroup" Size="

Although the context menu is a common element of most desktop applications, it is still fairly uncommon in Web application names because it doesn't map well to a server-based technology like ASP. NET.

On GridView Click, populate other controls with column values

Hello team,

I have 5 controls on the page - textbox, radiobutton, listbox, checkbox, and any other one more. And i have a grid. The grid has 5 corresponding columns. I have to make the grid row clickable, and on the click, i have to populate my 5 controls with each of the corresponding grid column values.

Please let me know how can i make it. I know that i can make the grid clickable, by setting the e.row.attribute.add("OnClick", "javascript:return passValues();");. In this case, all the value passing will happen in javaScript. Is this the correct way? I have yet to try implementing this, not sure if there will be any issues.

Before that wanted to know if there is any other approach to achieve this. Please help!

Creating a ribbon flyoutanchor similar to the page layout flyout

Hi All,

I've asked this before and got no answer. I've simplified my code which may help.

The current code displays icons to the left and text to the right (similar to Page > Share & Track > Alert Me). I want it to display like Page > Page Actions > Page Layout (with the text below the icon and in 4 columns). I'm using the CMDUI.XML as a guide to no avail.

Below is my code. Any help is appreciated.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

WPF Ribbon's application menu alignment problem: bug or programmer error?

I'm using WPF 4's (in .NET 4) ribbon control, version 3.5.40729.1, in my application. The application menu and all sub-menu popups align as far left as possible, usually far outside the ribbon window. The expected location is that the application menu's left edge aligns with the ribbon window's left edge, and that sub-menu popups will align with the left edge of the right (usually recent items) content pane.

Here's an example screen shot illustrating the issue I'm having. Note that the left edge of this screen shot is the left edge of my monitor.

Here's a snippet of code showing the XAML of the RibbonWindow root element and the beginning of the ribbon declaration:

FlyoutAnchor with Menu and Check box button

Is it possible to have a check box with Menusection of FLYOUTAnchor. I get error

"Message: The display mode with name: Menu is not valid for this control with id: Ribbon.MyTab.PathikGrp.StaticDropdown.Menu.MenuSection.CheckBox1"

Any idea?

Need a Multi column Gridview with editable controls

Any one know any open source user control that is similar to gridtreeview. Basically, I want to show a multi column treeview that when expanded, user can edit certain column values. The columns can have a text box or dropdown etc.

Simple search with drop down menu to choose which column to search on?

Hi - just getting back in to web development after several years away from it (and the last time I did this it was classic ASP, help!).

Basically using Microsoft web developer 2010 to do a simple search against a db. I have one textbox and one drop down menu (which will be used to choose which column in the db to search against).

I have the textbox only search working but don't know how to implement the dropdown menu part?

Code so far (the drop down has just been added to the form here nothing more):

Really appreciate any help thanks:
