We have a solution packaged as a WSP. It has worked fine on three machines now, but the person that is going to be doing a demo cannot get this working right. The features activate fine for the site collection, however, when he goes to view any of the lists
created by this feature (or any of the layouts application pages), he gets 403 forbidden errors. He can view the built in lists OK. It seems like an IIS configuration issue, we have double checked all of his settings, anything we could be missing?
EDIT - He can open SharePoint Designer and view the lists fine from there, even navigate to the permissions for them.
We have created a two level custom approval workflow on (an InfoPath) form library using SharePoint Designer (SPD) with first and second approver. The workflow works fine as long as the approver is in the Site Collection Administrators group. The approvers
who are not in the admin group can get to the custom Task form for approve/reject, but they can only view the form. When they click on the “Edit Item” button of the task list item, they receive “Access Denied” error. We have given these
approvers “Approve”, “Contribute” permissions on the Form library and even Full Control on the task form list (all items). Note: The users use their domain account and the error they are getting is: Access Denied, You are currently
signed as DomainName\LoginName, Sign in as a different user.
We have read through several forums and have found people having the same issue. We tried all of the suggestions described in the following links - but no success so far.
SharePoint Designer Workflows, Tasks, and the Annoying “Access Denied” Error
There are supposed fixes for this but I cannot get a decent reply so i am posting a new thread. I am getting the same error as what was in this thread.
I want to run the script but cannot without getting an error.
Can I get step by step of how to run this script? Save the code into what? Run from what? On server or workstation?
I am a sharepoint admin, not a developer so I'm a bit clueless when it comes to code language...
static void Main(string args)
static void FixField(string args)
I am trying to create a silverlight application by making use of the SharePoint 2010 Client Object Model using the following code:
private void CreateList(object sender, ClientRequestFailedEventArgs e)
ClientContext ctx = new ClientContext("http://server");
ListCreationInformation lc = new ListCreationInformation();
lc.Title = "FlexiTime";
lc.Description = "";
lc.TemplateType = (int)ListTemplateType.GenericList;
List newList = ctx.Web.Lists.Add(lc);
System.Threading.ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem(new WaitCallback(CreateListCallback), ctx);
private void CreateListCallback(object s)
var context = (ClientContext)s;
The error I receive is as follows:
ÃÂ Hi Everybody,I have created a list in sharepoint. In that list there is a field which I want to make read only or invisible when the user tries to add or edit a list item through sharepoint UI. I want this because that particular field gets populated through a webpart and direct data entry into that field is unnecessary. Is there any way to make a sharepoint column (for me its a picture column) read only or invisible in the sharepoint UI.thank you,Arun Dutt
I am using Sharepoint 2010. I have several lists whose view includes the column "Edit (Link to Item)" in the default view. I am the site admin so when I view the list the "Edit" column appears with the small "paper and pencil" icon and it works
I needed some users to only be able to view and edit existing items (not add or delete). So I have created a site level permissions that I copied from "Read" and only checked the "Edit Items - Edit items in lists, edit documents in
document libraries, and customize Web Part Pages in document libraries" under Lists.
This new permission level does allow users to see the edit menu item on the standard "Title" hyperlink dropdown, but in the"Edit" column there isn't an icon or any clickable link to edit in the column. Only from the menu. Its as if the icon won't
appear if I don't give them Add capability which is what I don't want.
Thanks for any tips,
(MOSS 2007 site, I am the collection administrator).
On a particular list, when I select Edit Item from the list item's drio down menu, I get the AccessDenied.aspx page. If I go to DispForm.aspx first, the click on the Edit Item link, I get to my custom edit form just fine.
Can anyone explain this please, and suggest a remedy?
HiI am having problems with two workflows I have created. The first simply looks at the Status column and if this equals completed or cancelled, moves the item to another list and then deletes from the current list.I had this set up to move items to a 2009 list and this was working fine, however now I have amended it to move to a new 2010 list, I am getting errors:
Background: In SPS 2010 I created an External Content Type that is displaying the Customers table from a Customers database in SQL Server 2008. (I also added myself as the DBO for that database.) I configured the ECT to authenticate with the User's
Identity and to also use the Secondary Secure Store Application ID "contoso\administrators". I then added both these accounts to the Business Data Connectivity Service and granted them all four permission sets. I configured the ECT Operations to perform all
operations, and I filtered the return by limiting it to a 100 items. Using the Create List and Form wizard I then created an External List from the ECT.
Problem: When I display the External List in the browser I get this error - Access denied by Business Data Connectivity.
I have read several blogs about this issue (which seems to be common) but I still can't resolve it. Can anyone help?
How the concurrent for sharepoint list item are are handled.
if two or more users are working on same item. Then how sharepoint process multiple update request for particular list item.
I´d like to verify if somebody see this scenario:
* I create a site, using te meeting site template;
* I give Full Control access to an user;
* When this user try to upload an item in a library, in this site, it was showed the message "Acces Denied".
* If the user press "back" in the Internet Explorer tool bar and press "F5" to refresh, the file is there.
* The same problem is ocurring, when he try to create a meeting.
Somebody ever see this error!?
Thanks a lot
doesn't any1 know the answer of my question?
i'm trying to create a data view with the edit, delete and insert function.
the edit and delete works fine. only the insert gives me this error:
The data source control failed to execute the insert command.
I have read several posts where this access denied to path ex.('c:\test' ). The only way I got this to work was adding <identity impersonate> using my credentials in the web.config file but I don't want to use my credentials all the time. I have Windows as the authentication mode so why doesn't it work without supplying my credentials? I tried giving Network Service account write permissions to the folder but that doesn't work either.
I have an sharepoint application which was working fine.
I encountered a license expired message in sql server enterprise evaluation 2008 version after which i changed the date to 2 months earlier date, I have also changed HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\100\ConfigurationState to
3 after which sql server started working but the issue is that the clients are unable to access the sharepoint site completely. On providing the url the web site requests for logon information and then access is denied. The same
url with the same authentication credentials is accessible from the server and the entire application works fine from the server.
From the client the below error page appears.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.
