SSRS Reports Not updating in Sharepoint 2007

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 27, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hello All,

I created some reports in SSRS 2008, The reports data source is a live transactional data source. The reports are to auto refresh every minute displaying any new info that  was put on to the system in the last minute. The auto refresh property on each report is set to 60 sec. to trigger the refreshing of the reports.

The problem: when i run the reports in the report manager the every thing works fine, the report runs, refreshes, and the figures are updated.

I am now displaying these reports in Sharepoint 2007 via the "report viewer" facilitated by the RSWebPart that i installed on the Sharepoint instance.

The reports are displayed fine in the viewer, but my problem is that it does not auto refresh with the updated info.

I figure it is a caching issue but how to get around? HELP!

Building SSRS reports based on SharePoint 2007 lists

Hi,   I'm building a SSRS report, and I want to get data out of a SharePoint 2007 list. The difficulty I'm facing is the following: The SharePoint server is behind an ISA Server, and is configured for Form-Based Authentication. Is there a way to keep the FBA and retreve information out of a SharePoint list with reporting services?   Kind Regards,  AVermaas

SSRS 2008 R2 and sharepoint 2007 report builder problems

I upgraded our enterprise sql server 2008 to sql server 2008 r2 last weekend.  Along with this i installed the report builder 3.0 on the servers as well and the updated ssrs add in for sharepoint.  The upgrade went fine, no errors that i could find.  The problem is now when i go to a library that has the report builder content type enabled and click report builder report under new it does not load report builder 3.0.

I updated the custom report builder url in central administration from /_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_2_0_0_0.application to /_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_3_0_0_0.application

however when i do click the new report builder report it kicks me over to http://company.com/ReportServer_MossEnt  which itemizes out each individual sharepoint site in the farm.

Is the integration of ssrs 2008 r2, sharepoint 2007 and report builder 3.0 work?  did i install the wrong version of the report builder add in?  The above is the only problem i am having now.

all servers are server 2008, 64 bit and moss 2007 enterprise with sp2 & april 2010 cu

SSRS - Where are the Sharepoint Report Usage Reports provided by Microsoft

Microsoft provided 3 example reports for Sharepoint report usage. Does anyone know where they are located? I used them about 2 years ago.

Publishing reports from Business Intelligence to Sharepoint Services 2007

We currently have sharepoint services 2007 and SQL server 2005 installed (with reporting services) and Sharepoint SQl web part on a single box named 'king-sharepoint'.   We have sucessfully setup the reporting services from Native to integrated sharepoint with a db name of 'spkingsdb'. We are trying to publish reports to the sharepoint database using Visual Studio, as we are new to sharepoint we are confused as to how to achieve this.  We understand to publish it we need to know the path of the database (reportserver(spkingsdb)), the folder in which the reports will be published to (do we create this? If so then how?), and the server name (http://king-sharepoint/reportserver).  thanks

Win server 2003+ Sharepoint 2007+SQL Server 2008 ,reports view issue?

I hope someone may shed some light on a serious obstacle encountered on a client site:

We have implemented a SharePoint integrated report services solution for the client on a single server

Server = Windows 2003

SQL = 2008

MOSS 2007

Web application = servername:8888 (default) - windows auth

Web application extension 1 servername:8889 (extranet) forms auth

Web application extension 2 servername:8887 (intranet) forms auth

Reports are visible and can be run (renders) on internal sites

However, there is an external site which allows users to access the reports - the issue is, the reports then dont run and I get this:

"An unexpected error occurred while connecting to the report server. Verify that the report server is available and configured for SharePoint integrated mode."

Though I have not actually seen the firewall config of the AAM, the client assures me it has been setup properly.

If the AAM is setup correctly, what could be the problem? The server is clearly available and confgured in SharePoint integrated mode.

has anyone experienced the scenario where clients want to publish their reports on an external site? What can one do to see any errors other than the one line message (tried enabling custom errors, but no good)

Looking for guidance: Integrated SharePoint SSRS migration and upgrade from 2007 to 2010

Our existing prod farm is MOSS 07 with an integrated SSRS instance using SQL Server 2008, both on Windows Server 2003 64bit boxes. SharePoint databases are on a different SQL Server 2008 server.

I have built a new SharePoint 2010 farm on Windows Server 2008 R2 boxes, using a single SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise server as the backend for both SharePoint databases and Reporting Services (installed in Integrated mode). We are going to be using the database-attach method of upgrading our SharePoint farm.

Is there any specific guidance out there on exactly how to migrate/upgrade Reporting Services in this scenario? I've read through some of the MSDN content (How To: Migrate a Reporting Services Installation) but nothing seems to deal specifically with doing this when in Integrated mode with SharePoint. Our business heavily relies on SSRS reports in SharePoint and also shared and custom report subscriptions via email.

We do have a dev SharePoint 2010 farm in a similar configuration that I can test migration/upgrade steps. Thanks.

reports published to SharePoint not refreshing in "sharepoint 2007"

Hello All,

My Issue: SSRS reports published to SharePoint not refreshing in “sharepoint 2007”.

The reports have the ‘Auto refresh’ property set to 15 sec. When the reports are viewed in the report manager the reports refresh and update with the new data entered in the Transactional system.

I now want to publish these reports to SharePoint in a dashboard format.

My first attempt to do this was with Performance point server. I added the report to the Performance point dashboard designer and then created a dashboard with these reports. I then published the rep

Authenticated, when deploying the reports(SSRS 2008) to a sharepoint site

I created reports in SSRS 2008 for a sharepoint list. But when I tried to deploy it to the report library I used to get an authentication pop-up box again and again. I used all the username and password. But no luck. Does any one knows how to overcome this situation.

Regarding the Subscription of SSRS reports from the Sharepoint Portal.

At present, I am having some SSRS reports hosted on share point portal and For one report, I am subscribing thorugh manage subscription by mentioning the dropdown values (The Selections which are required for the report) as parameters. So that, I am going get a mail for the report for the selection which I made from the report.

Now The Issue is, for every combination I should need to select the parameters and need to subscribe for that. Is it possible to mention all the selection crieteria at once and run it in one shot?

Can we write any backgroud job to complete all the selection criterias at once?

Please help me on this.

Thank you!!

SSRS SP1 and Sharepoint 2007 build 6529 Integration

Scenario is single server (VM for dev)

Windows Server 2008 SP2 x86
Sharepoint 2007 build 6529
SQL Server 2008 w/SP1 integrated, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS

Kerberos configured for all Sharepoint services and working, SPNs set on machine account for kernel mode auth

SSRS configured to use service acct

get an error occurred during client rendering.  I also cannot get to the SSRS web service url .../ReportServer

Now i switch the account to networkservice, which contains the spn in AD as a sideeffect, i get the .../ReportServer page, but still the same error in MOSS.  Am i missing something?  I have read articles that state that using NetworkService on a single server with MOSS and SSRS is not supported as that account is explicitly denied access, which ironically both services could use the SPN, but how would i configure SSRS's service account?  also, i see the subsite in MOSS .../ReportServer in both scenarios, however because it's MOSS i am unsure if this is the correct behavior as everything i have seen suggests that a new IIS site needs to be created for SSRS.  If this is the case, where is the integration point in MOSS?

Regarding Deployment of Reports(SSRS) in Sharepoint

I have developed a Report in Business intelligence studio.then i have to deploy on the Sharepoint site(i am using SiteCollection of Collaboration template).

Search SSRS Reports from SharePoint

What is the best way to search SSRS .RDL reports from SharePoint. My goal is to be able to search for a key word (e.g. KPI1) and it query reporting services.

I'm looking into setting up BDC search but I don't have all the details straight yet.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

SharePoint 2007 approval workflow status not consistently updating

I have an InfoPath form library in our SharePoint site that people use to create requests and submit them through an Approval workflow for concurrence and process completion tracking.  The workflows are manually started by users and the system is supposed to update the approval status only on completion of the workflow (ie the request is approved or rejected).  I did go into SharePoint Designer when we first launched and set the document library property settings to "Require content approval for submitted items".  They are not required to check out the item before editing it.

At first everything was just fine, but now it seems that the workflows are inconsistently updating the approval status.  Any ideas?

Prompted for network credentials via internet while accessing SSRS reports in SharePoint integrated

We have developed a SharePoint- FBA site and published it through ISA.  The site, among many features, displays SSRS reports through Performance Point Monitoring dashboards.  SSRS is using windows integrated authentication (Kerberos).  Through intranet, the reports are getting displayed without any issue, but, through internet, its getting prompted when we try to access the reports for the first time after logging into the site using FBA credentials.  When we enter valid domain credentials after being prompted, it starts displaying reports without any issues and never prompts again for that FBA session.

We have been trying to eliminate the prompt through internet, but couldn't do so.

Has anyone experienced the same before?

Any help is appreciated.

Can't see any data after publish SSRS report to Sharepoint 2007

I'm using SSRS 2008 R2 , MOSS 2007 and report Builder 3.0 To generate cascading reports with sharepoint 2007 lists.

I'm able to filter and see the data correctly within report builder .

But if i upload the same RDL file to Sharepoint library and then tries to view the report,i'm not getting any data.(absolutely zero records)

I'm using Report builder 3.0 and sharepoint list as connection string.

Interestingly, if i'm ising XML as a connection string to pull sharepoint list data and then publish the report to sharepoint, i'm able to see the data within sharepoint correctly and i'm able to use the cascading filter and can view the correct data.

Please advice on why i'm not able to see the data if i'm using the connection string" sharepoint list "

This issue is same even if i'm using BIDS 2008 and sharepoint list as connection string.

i would like to use sharepoint list as connection string because of the ease of using it.

Thanks in advance!!

SSRS Reports deployed on sharepoint giving Permission Errors.

Dear All

We recently migrated our sharepoint from standalone to distributed environment.Everything is working fine except SSRS reports.

MOSS is on Server X and Databases,Report Server is on Database Y

Report Server is configured to run in SharePoint integrated mode.

Central Admin Settings are set as recommended by microsoft for distributed environment.

When i try to access reports or Report DataSource i get this error.

An unexpected error occurred while connecting to the report server. Verify that the report server is available and configured for SharePoint integrated mode. --> The permissions granted to user 'EMS\bmsadmin' are insufficient for performing this operation. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException: The permissions granted to user 'EMS\bmsadmin' are insufficient for performing this operation.

I have looked around everything and all setting seems fine. Single Domain Account is used for all services and Report Server service account as well.
