In our Search Drop Down box, we define search scopes that appear in the list.ÃÂ (i.e. All sites, custom document libraries, business data catalogs, etc...)
However,ÃÂ for some reasonÃÂ itÃÂ automatically includes an item for every site/sub-site that says "This site: <sitename>".ÃÂ I don't want that in there, because when a user selects that, it will take them to the ossSearchResults.aspx page instead of our custom search center.
So how do I prevent it from adding that item to the list?
I have many controls on my form, but in particular, I have 2 dropdownlists. 1 dropdown list has 2 values, and each value controls what the second dropdownlist displays. This is an edititemtemplate and both dropdowns have the selecteditem set via '<%# Bind("fieldname") #>' on page load.
THe problem is, if I change the value of the first dropdown, it errors out because the second dropdwon has a bound value that is no longer acceptable.
Can I cancel the bind of the second control, if the the first one is changed? I would like to cancel the bind, and update the values by using a different datasource depending on the value of the first dropdown or hardcode the new values.
If Dropdown1 has a value of "A" for example Dropdown 2 Shows Values "1", "2", "3"
If Dropdown 1 has a value of "B" , Dropdown2 Shows Values "4", "5", "6".
It binds fine initially, but if I change Dropdown1 from A to B, I want Dropdown2 to show the new values, maybe with a default of "Select an Item" and not error out b/c it's attempts to bind a value of 1, 2, or 3.
Hope this makes sence, b/c I'm
I have created a new scope (Scope A) and everythind works ok. Then I wanted to create a search page (my search page with a search box and search core results) to show only the results from the created scope.
I created a new search display group (Display Group B) and assigned the "Scope A", configured the search box to display the "Display Group B" hidding the scopes drop down list and it didnt work as I wanted as it displayed all the results by default.~
How can I remove the "This site" from my display group, keeping only one scope as the default one?
Thanks for all the help

I am in the process of implementing MOSS 2007 and we have 2 site collections.ÃÂ ÃÂ When we get to either site there are 2 search option This Site:ÃÂ and All Sites.ÃÂ ÃÂ All sites returns all the results but when search This Site I get no results.ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ We removed the People Scope because we aren't implementing mysites with the first release.ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ
Does anyone have any suggestions.ÃÂ ÃÂ I had Microsoft on the phone yesterday but they didn't seem to be able to help.ÃÂ ÃÂ
The dropdown may be binded with a datasource or have same value list.
I have asp.net2.0 framework.
Please don't advise for using ajax.

="<Select a Report>" NULL
="Score" ="[Measures].[Indicator Score]"
="Rank" ="[Measures].[Indicator Rank]"
="Value" ="[Measures].[Indicator Value]"
In BIDS i dont see the select a value parameter. When rendered to report manager/reportviewer it shows Select a report but also shows Select a value before that...this is still there...

I have a 6 server farm. 2 App servers for indexing and 3 Web Front ends setup to crawl as well. I can search if I go to the sites/search pages but just doing a search on the home page using the search box on the top of
the page I am getting 0 results. Also if I search on a list/library I am getting 0 results. Anyone have the same issue and no how to resolve. I have over 16000 items in the index.
I am trying to limit the search on a SharePoint site to each individual site collection..
These sites are all on the same server. I have found a way to do this by following the article below –
I change the dropdownmode on the masterpage to DropDownMode = "ShowDD_DefaultContextual"
this works for all my publishing sites.
Search Scope - Default to "This Site" I have created a root level site collection via MOSS.ÃÂ I have then added a site directory with both WSS and MOSS sites created underneath the site directory.ÃÂ The default search for all of these sites is "All Sites".ÃÂ Is there any way to make the default search for the team sites under the site directory "This Site"?The issue is when users search for a topic using the "All Sites" scope, the results page is at the root level and it takes them out of their team site.ÃÂ They then have to navigate back to the team site.ÃÂ I am assuming that I am creating a WSS site when I use the "Team Site" template under "Create SIte" in the site collection page.ÃÂ Is this correct?
I'm trying to remove Authors and Date from the search results on my Search Core Results page. I've succeded in doing so by editing the Search Core Results web part, using the XSL editor and commenting-out or removing the section that begins with <div
Could that cause any issues moving forward? Is that the best method to hide these attributes? Any advice is appreciated.
