Any Automation tool to migrate DotNetNuke site to MOSS 2007. The portal predominantly has content pages, document and photo library and few landing pages. Appreciate pointers for migration. ( 1000+ pages)

Hi, I have developed a web application using MOSS 2007 enterprise edition. I have customized the site using custom ASPX pages, custom Webpart and custom features. Also I referred http://blog.brianfarnhill.com/2009/03/19/changing-list-forms-through-code/ for updating the contents of list forms. I have configured SQL-Form based Authentication for this site. Now I have a need to migrate this site to an environment which has MOSS 2007 standard edition and use a Active Directory Authentication instead of SQL-Form based Authentication. So can anyone guide me wether this scenario is possible or it will create any compatibility issue? Which are the precautions I need to consider for performing this task? I have multipal websites. I would like to update "Title" field in the content pages. How Can I do it using wsp/c#. For example.. I have site like http://www.something.com/pages/home.aspx . I this page I have "Title" field with value like "Something" now I want to change that to "Something else". Please help.

MOSS 2007 Content Deployment Error

I have trouble with a staging environment that I recently set up.ÃÂ I went through the error logs and finally got the staging environment functioning without errors, but previous to working through those errors, we successfully made a content deployment path and job and ran it.ÃÂ Now, the Destination central Admin is giving permissions issues.ÃÂ I changed and restarted some services and some component services..ÃÂ Are there any specific things I should check related specifically to content deployment as far asÃÂ servicesÃÂ on the server?ÃÂ

Content Deployment in MOSS 2007

I am trying to Deploy the content from one site collection to another site collection in a different server.

My question here what kind of similarity has to be exists with both servers.

I have some custom webparts installed in one server and it is also used in the site collection do i have to install all those custom server in the destination server too. or while content deploying it does it automatically.

Migration from WSS 3.0 & MOSS 2007 to SharePoint 2010

Hi All,

I am kiran and working on some migration project.

I am stuck with some basic questions,

1. I have got couple of hudred WSS 3.0 sites

2. I have got couple of hundred MOSS 2007 Enterrprise sites

I need to migrate both the above to SharePoint Server 2010 platform.

My Question is,

1. Can I directly migrate WSS 3.0 sites to SharePoint 2010 env? Is there any need to step up to MOSS 2007 and then to SharePoint 2010? Becuase all documentations talk about migrating MOSS 2007 to SS 2010.

Your help is appreiciated.

Reset all crawled content (MOSS 2007)

I Used the Reset all crawled content, but it broke my SSP (Search and UserProfile) in the Search i get:

The search application for 'SharedServices1' on server MOSSSERVER is not provisioned. Confirm that the Windows SharePoint Services Timer service and Windows SharePoint Services Administration service are running on the server.

Help to manage migration from farm WSS 2.0/MOSS 2003 to farm WSS 3.0/ MOSS 2007

Hello,

we need to move an application (only a site collection/portal site) hosted in farm using WSS 2.0(SharePoint Portal Server 2003 integrated with Project Server 2003) to a new farm where is installed WSS 3.0 and SharePoint Portal Server 2007.

We do not care at all about the part managed by Project Server 2003 . We are interested to obtain all lists, items and users information stored in the application (basically all the content part managed by MOSS 2003).

Which is the best strategy to get the job done ?

MOSS 2007 Strange Problem with edit forms, content types and document library columns

I'm having a strange problem and have not been able to track down any useful answers over google.

I inherited a SharePoint site that I am now making some changes to.

I am having problems with one document library. We had custom edit forms on this document library, which I was finding a pain to maintain so I reset them back to the site definition. This edit form now shows only those fields that are associated with the Document content type (the only content type - I've deleted the others) on the document library. There are other columns on this document library that are NOT associated with the content type that I would like to show on the edit form but they are not available when I try to add them to the content type via Settings > Document Content Type > Add from existing site or list columns. The select columns from drop down is set to List Columns. The Additional Authors column is just not there.

I CAN see this field on the all items view for the document library, it is there and populated with data.

Setting the Allow Managed content types radio button to NO does not have any impact on which fields are visible on the form- I still see those same fields that have been associated with the Document content type.

Has anyone else seen this or does anyone have any thoughts??

Moving MOSS 2007 from 2x Dedicated servers to 1x VM - Migration Tutorials?

Greetings all,

We're recently phased out our MOSS 2007 environment (after migrating to MOSS 2010), and need to reclaim the servers from our 2007 install. However, we need to provide access to the old 2007 environment for 9-12 months more.

So, my plan is to migrate the Content DB and FE from their split-environment (two server) solution into a single VM that we can power up when needed.

Knowing that there are a great number of quality tutorials in existence for MOSS 2007, I wonder if someone might recommend tutorials/posts they've found useful for migrating the Content DB and/or FE (this is similar to a disaster-recovery situation in which the FE and DB are rebuilt, no?), beyond the TechNet articles on the matter.

we need to migrate MOSS 2007 to SP 2010 for large user account(1500 users) with Large existing contents and database. can you guys give us an view how much approximate time(ex: 100 hrs or 200hrs) it takes to complete the migration assume very minimum or no customizations done in MOSS 2007.

MOSS 2007 Content Deployment Issue Could not find Feature UsageReportingTemplateList

I am trying to deploy a site collection from our development enviroment into our live enviroment all our other sites site collections deploy fne apart from this one which we dont seem to have chnaged anything.

The deployment job is failing due to the below error

Could not find Feature UsageReportingTemplateList
