ASP Tables and Visual Studio 2008

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 27, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

I am working on a project that I have inherited that was built in VS 2008 using C# . Originally done as a Wizard it is now being changed to a single page form. When I first started I was able to drag and drop the textboxes and other elements around but then I had to change the tables from HTML to ASP so I could create them dynamically. After doing so I cannot click on anything inside the table when working in VS. Is this normal functionality? I'm relatively new to VS, ASP and C#

crystal report -visual studio 2008 dual axis chart (bar & line)

dear all,

i use crystal report integrated with  vs.2008, and i want to make chart with dual axis (bar & line).

i have used bar chart and input the data with 2 values..

then in chart options > template, i activated the dual axis..

my question is, how i can change the 2nd value with line chart not bar chart??

i'd tried to find the right settings in "chart options" but still can't find the solution.

for information in "chart options" there are 4 sub menu : template, general,titles,grid..

i read in a tutorial there's more sub menu called "series" in crystal report (stand alone version)..

is it possible doing it in Crystal Report VS. 2008?

please,, i need your advice and solution..

Thanx before..

CSS support in visual studio 2008 express edition

I have several css style sheets I want to work with.  I have copied them into the appropriate directory structure in my project.  The styles are applied correctly.

But the manage CSS styles tool bar on the left margin doesn't seem to work correctly.  At one point I had generated a style sheet and worked with it there, but now it not only can't find the one it generated, but the attach style sheet link doesn't respond at all, nor does anything in this bar.  Same deadness with the CSS Properties bar.  With or without a style sheet loaded in the editor -- a style sheet that is active in the project such that when I run it, the styles are applied.

VB version of studio, running on Vista home basic.

PS, the design mode works a lot better than the professional version I use in my day job on XP and server 2003.

Where is the Visual Studio 2008 Web Control Library Template

Does a project exist for grouping user controls? Visual Studio 2005 had this template but it does not appear to exist in 2008.

We will be creating several User Controls and would like them grouped accordingly.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

WPF Designer (in VS 2008 and VS 2010) crashes with Visual Studio

Good day all. I have the following question: WPF designer in both VS 2008 and VS 2010 crashes with Visual Studio when I try to edit UI form. Moreover, it crashes even when I try to save .xaml.cs file. Meanwhile, Winforms and Dataset UI editors work as usual. Are there other people met this issue? And how could I fix up this problem? Deleting the .suo file, uninstalling silverlight, repairing visual studio, and further googling did not help me. Thanks in advance.

AdventureWorks and Visual Studio 2008

Would someone please tell me how to get Visual Studio to automatically create the correct SQL statements so that I can stop getting the following error:"there was an error executing the query. please check the syntax of the command and if present the types and values of the parameters and ensure they are correct. Invalid object name 'Product'" 'Product'  gets replaced with whatever table name I drag onto my web form from the server explorer. The only information that may help that I know is that I noticed that Visual Studio creates the following select statement: "SELECT * FROM [BillOfMaterials]" and this generates an error. Where as when I manually type "SELECT * from Production.BillOfMaterials;" Everything works fine. The only issue with this is i would hate to have to manually enter all of the SQL statement into my web app.  Any help would me great appreciate. SQL2008.AdventureWorks_All_Databases.x64 - this is the version of AdventureWorks that I downloaded and installed on my machine.

Windows Mobile - Visual Studio 2008 - Erro gravar no banco SQL compact 3.5

Boa noite estou tentando gravar em um banco de dados Compact 3.5 com o  código abaixo. Visual Studio 2010 - SQL 2008 or SQL 2008 R2

I have just rebuilt my development platform i.e. I ran the Windows 7 Ultimate setup app on an X86 platform followed by a fresh install of Visual Studio 2010 Prof. Using VS I opened up a solution created before the rebuild which includes a connection to an .mdf file. On attempting to connect to this file I Got an error message of the  follwing type. The database '.../XXX.MDF' cannot be opened because it is version 661. This server supports version 655 and earlier. A downgrade path is not supported. Referring to this link http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlgetstarted/thread/0a4082a2-793e-42c3-9f68-95041002b4de, leads me to believe that VS2010 uses SQL Express 2008 for database access and that I had been using(unknowingly) SQL Express 2008 R2 during my previous development activities. If that is the case two questions arise :- Why does VS2010 install package install the four 2008 R2 components when I presume that these would also be incompatible with SQL Server Express 2008? Is there a version of SQL Server 2008 R2 - since I assume that R2 is the latest and greatest version - that I can install on my machine and if so how do I tell VS to use 2008 R2 rather than plain old 2008? I hope these questions do not seem like the meanderings of a raddled brain, but any light you can throw on them, would help me gain a better understanding of the relationship bet
