Reading xlsx when cells are in hour format

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 27, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hello,

I have a page that does an upload of an xlsx file to a datatable and write into SQL.

That is working, my problem is when i upload the file and pass the values to the datatable some of them are showing in the wrong format and the column name dont appears.

e.g.:

Hours at home

Hours working

3:00

8:00

01-01-1900 1:35:00

01-01-1900 2:35:00

01-01-1900 3:35:00

The first 2 columns its how i want the info the third is how my problem looks like.

I've tested and the problem occurs when the same column has more than one value.

The format of the cells is h:mm if i change it to text it works fine but i dont want that because the time will be converted to semething like this 0,123456789.

I dont know if it matters but the xlsx file is kinda complex and has 10,2MB.

Any pointers? Thanks for any reply

Reading WPF rich text box content in HTML format

Hi, I am using WPF RichTextBox. From that, I am reading the content in RTF format using the following code. TextRange textRange = new TextRange(paramRichTextBox.Document.ContentStart, paramRichTextBox.Document.ContentEnd); MemoryStream msData = new MemoryStream(); textRange.Save(msData, DataFormats.Rtf); //get the data from the selected range //strData = textRange.Text; strData = ASCIIEncoding.Default.GetString(msData.ToArray()); I also found that there is an option called DataFormats.HTML. Hence, I tried using this but ended up with error. Is there any other way to read the content of RichTextBox in HTML format? Thanks in Advance!!! Best Regards, Subalakshmi Vijayarajan.

Problem with WCF: Error while reading message framing format at position 13665 of stream (state: Rea

Hi,

we're using the net.tcp binding, server is self-hosted.

One of our clients experience the following problem randomly appearing on each client couple of times a day:

System.ServiceModel.ProtocolException, System.ServiceModel, Version=3.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089

Error while reading message framing format at position 13665 of stream (state: ReadingEnvelopeBytes)

The exception appears on the client. I analyzed the WCF trace of the server and there are no exceptions.

What can be the cause of the exception?

I'd really appreciate any help, because the client is in production and this brings lots of problems.

Thanks!

Edit GridView Individual Cells in ASP.NET

The ASP.NET GridView allows for a row of data to be edited by setting the EditIndex property of the GridView, placing the entire row in edit mode.

You may not want the entire row in edit mode if you are using DropDownList controls for several columns in the EditItemTemplate. If each DropDownList has many options then loading them all at once may result in a sluggish page. Also, if your data structure is more like a 2 dimensional array rather than a set of rows, you may want to edit each cell individually.

Here I will demonstrate how to achieve this and also how to deal with event validation without disabling it.

How To Set a Date Format In GridView Using ASP.NET 2.0

A very common desire is to set a column of a gridview to display just the month, day and year of a DateTime type. The problem is the by default, the HtmlEncode property of the boundfield attribute (
The problem is that if this field is enabled, you can not pass format information to the boundfield control. That is, if you try the following code, you will not get the desired result.

How to format and update GridView and DataGrid rows using JQuery

The behavior described in this question is as expected. When you set text of a cell in grid, it directly affects HTML that is going to be rendered. When you set text value of a cell, it means that you are setting innerText of the cell. The column that GridView creates for command fields (Edit, Delete and Select) are a (anchor) or button elements. So you can see what will happen if you set text value in that cell. It will wipe out those link or button controls and replace them with simple text string.

Program for Format Conversion of An Image

.NET provides extensive support for image conversion. Any image can be processed from one format to another. Most common formats to which .NET have support for are .BMP, .EMF, .GIF, .ICO, .JPG, .PNG, .TIF and .WMF.

Reading and Writing Images From a Windows Mobile Database using UltraLite 10(C#)

Periodically I get a request for information on how to read and write binary data to a database running on Windows Mobile. If you search the Internet you can typically find examples that are available on Windows Desktops or allow you to read and write to a local file system. The problem is that it can take a bit of work to get this code to work on Windows Mobile accessing a database.

Ultimately you might be asking, why would I want to store and image in a database? Well in an environment where you synchronizing data between a local mobile database and a consolidated (central) database this can be extremely useful. Imagine if an insurance adjuster went to an accident scene, took a picture of a damaged car, loaded it into his Windows Mobile database and then replicated that image up to the Insurance headquarters for approval. All of this could be done in a very short period of time when using images in the database. Another good example might be a doctor who was waiting for a patient chart to become available. If you could store the image in a database this chart could be sent down to the doctor's device once it became available.

For this article I am not going to get into how to synchronize the images to and from a remote and central database as this is typically fairly straightforward when using a data synchronization technologies like MobiLink

XML Reading and Writing

We learned to process XML files using the Document Object Model as implemented by the XmlDocument class. To go further and make XML friendlier, the .NET Framework provides many other classes for different purposes, allowing you to create and manage nodes from custom .NET classes.
Besides the XmlDocument and the derived classes of XmlNode, the .NET Framework provides the XmlTextWriter class, which is derived from XmlWriter. The XmlTextWriter class works in a top-down approach to create, or deal with, the contents of an XML file. This class writes an XML node and moves down without referring

Get pixel format, raw format, property id list and property items image in VB.net - C#.net.

n this simple article you will learn that how we can get pixel format, raw format, property id list and property items image in VB and C#.net.

Get Pixel Format:

Image consists of pixels to get the format of the pixel we have a property named pixel format. This property returns an enumeration of pixel format. This enumeration tells the pixel format.

To demonstrate make a window application. Drag one button and a picture box on form.

Now write the following code on Button click event:

Format Generic List Bound to Gridview

I have a generic list of a custom type. The custom type has a string and double.

I'm binding the list to a gridview and it outputs everything fine.

I'm trying to format the double column into a currency format. It is in a template field as I'm calculating a running total. I pass the value to a function that returns a double and adds the current value to a running total which I will show in the footer.

The format is not changing to currency as expected when using String.Format("{0:c}", GetTotal(Convert.ToDouble(Eval("Amount"))))

Any ideas on what might be going on and how to fix this?

Thanks!

User validation Issue in xlsx file

Hi,

I am validating user from Login.xlsx file. It was working fine by validating email and password from that file. For testing i got new file same contents of file but added some more user names.

So after that when i validating the user i am getting the following error "Data type mismatch in criteria expression".

But when i replaced the new to old one it is working fine. The contens of both files are the same. So why this kind of error happened.

-Thanks

reading values from config files in NUnit tests

One of my NUnit tests has to read in some values from config files.  In my main application this process works perfectly well, however when I run the unit test, the code that reads in the values from the config files doesnt read anything in.  Ive tried putting app.config in my unit test project (I even tried web.config) but nothing seems to work.  Are there any special steps involved when reading from config files in an nunit test ?
