Filter Outlook 2003 MailItems with c# and VS2005

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 27, 2010    Points: 0   Category :.NET Framework

Hi all!!!

I have a Windows Service wich manages an OutLook 2003 inbox. The service filter the mailitems using dasl queries, and the problem comes when unexpectedly goes out of order. The filter returns now null instead of Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook._MailItem.

Here is the dasl query i use to filter the inbox:

@SQL=(urn:schemas:httpmail:displayto like '%Altamira%' AND urn:schemas:httpmail:textdescription <> 'Mesena' AND urn:schemas:httpmail:textdescription <> 'Aportucasa') OR  (urn:schemas:httpmail:displayto like '%altamira%' AND urn:schemas:httpmail:textdescription <> 'Mesena' AND urn:schemas:httpmail:textdescription <> 'Aportucasa')

And this is the code i use to filter the _mailitem the filter function returns:

Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Items oMailItems = outlookNS.GetDefaultFolder(Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.OlDefaultFolders.olFolderInbox).Items;

oMailItems.Sort("[ReceivedTime]", false);

Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook._MailItem oMailItem = oMailItems.Find(sFilter) as Microsoft.Office.Interop.Out

Filter built in Excel 2003 different from OWC (huge performance difference)

Hi,

Our customer uses Excel 2003 and the OWC as a client to report on data in a cube. We have defined a specific report (OWC) that the customer can export to Excel 2003 for customization. When running the OWC report with exactly the same filters as Excel 2003 the OWC report seems to runs much faster than the Excel 2003 report.

I have unselected a couple of values in the report and see the following differences in performance:

  • OWC: a query with those filters takes +/- 2 seconds
  • Excel 2003: a query with those filters takes +/- 2 minutes

Using SQL Server Profiler there's a big difference in how the filter is send to the cube:

  • OWC
    Looking at the trace, OWC selects all queues and inbox children, excepts only those values that are unchecked.

Share Point 2007, Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2002 - Tasks and Calenders

Hi All,

I need some help in find out if I can do the following in Share Point 2007.

1. Can a task be assigned to a user in Share Point, which will appear in there personal Outlook account under the task list?

2. Is the Calendar in Share Point a separate entity from the exchange server? i.e. - I would like to use to the calendar in Share Point to manage meeting etc and send out invitations from the Share Point site, that if accepted would appear in the user's personal Outlook account.

3. Can the Gantt Chart view be mirrored to the task list?

I hope I’ve explained the requirements correctly for people to be able to provide feed back.

Thanks

Tony

Outlook.Application in Infopath 2003/SharePoint 2010

I transferred our form library from SP2003 to SP2010. Everything works except for when I try to submit the form via Outlook using "Outlook.Application".

var objOutlook = new ActiveXObject( "Outlook.Application" );
var olMailItem;
var objOutlookMsg = objOutlook.CreateItem(olMailItem);

We are still using Office 2003 with SharePoint 2010. Anyone know if the above code doesnt work anymore in SP2010?

Thank you,

Azu

Using jQuery to Filter Table Rows

The project is using the .net GridView control, so I had limited control over the output HTML code. Still, I think this code can work for most tables. One thing to notice: you should use the class "filterable" on your table or on one of its parents for the code to work.
First, we need a text box:

GridView Multiple Filter AJAX Control

This AJAX control enables the user to filter data within any column inside a GridView. The user can add multiple filters and can delete existing ones too.

Where to Filter the companies returned by the EF?

Hi,

I am just starting with dynamic data. I have an enttity framework called UsersModel.edmx.

It returns a list of all companies in the tblCompany table. This list is really big.

I need to filter the list returned to all user controls on the client so that it only returns the company that have a CompanyTypeId= 2 or CompanyTypeId= 3 and company name != "".

1 - Is it possible to filter the company list returned on the server so that I can filter only once for all the controls that use that on the client?

My ideas was to do something like this using linq and lambda but I am not sure how:

return tblCompanys.Where(c => c.CompanyTypeId == 2 || c.CompanyTypeId == 3 && ).Where(c=>c.CompanyName != "").OrderBy(c => c.CompanyName).Distinct().OrderBy(c=>c.CompanyName);

2 - I have created a partial class and a metadata class and added the DisplayColumn attribute to use the company name and sort by company name ascending.

Could I use the code to filter the returned companies in this? where?

namespace MarsMedicalModel
{
    [DisplayColumn("CompanyName", "CompanyName")]
    [MetadataType(typeof(tblCompanyMetadata))]
    public partial class t

Filter by Computed Column

Hello!

After looking for a driver to open legacy dbf drivers to connect, the next level trouble a have is this one:

first, i can retrieve the data but when trying to filter by a parameter (somesc columns) i get an error.

The error says about the database can't determine some blah blah!

The error is a columm tha is formated (  1234  ) about  8 space, fixed. The values in the query appears like that. I resolve this by Trimming Ltrim(ColumnName) and i get this (1234).

Now in SqlExpress, how can i filter by the new Trimmed Expression? (This is a primary key that the DBF use)

Sample:

SELECT column1, column2, column3
TABLE FoxProDB

Now

SELECT Ltrim(column1) as NewExp, column2, column3
TABLE FoxProDB
Where NewExpre = @NewExpres                  -Error-

Thanx!

LDAP nested groups filter

Hi all,

In my organization we use nested groups.

For a particular usage, we have a group (let's assume that the group name "kuku"), and the names of all the nested groups under it contains "kuku" as well.

We may assume that no other group in the LDAP has "kuku" in the name.

I need to create a filter which will return all the users which belong to one of the "kuku"s group.

Obviously, using this filter will bring only the head kukus

(&(&(objectclass=user)(objectclass=person))(memberOf=CN=kuku,cn=.rest of the group DN.))

How can I use wild card to fetch all users which belong to any kuku?

For example: (&(&(objectclass=user)(objectclass=person))(memberOf=CN=.*kuku.*))

Thanks,

Asi

Problems converting VS 2003 project to VS 2008

Hi!

I'm having problems converting a VS 2003 project to VS 2008 (tried 2005 as well, same problem). There are several problems;
a) I don't have VS 2003 installed.
b) The project is a web service, however I'm not sure what type of VS project it was created as.
c) The general knowledge about the project setup is..slim.

I get a error message using the conversion wizard, however, I'm not familiar with the tool and I cannot quite find any good information on Google for it, so I am left with a error message I do not understand.

Conversion Issues - myProject.csproj:
Unable to open the Web site 'C:\local\path\to\project\myProject.csproj'. The Web site 'C:\local\path\to\project\myProject.csproj' does not exist.

The web service is not intended to run on the dev machine, it is copied to a test or a prod server. However, I do not know how this was done previously. I'm thinking that in order to convert, it has to access the server on which it should run (which is set somehow in a config maybe). But that doesn't actually make any sence..

If anyone could shed light on this, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you.
