sharepoint 2010 task list to outlook 2007

I've connected to outlook a task list of sharepoint 2010.

Once connected I can see  only the activities assigned to one single user. All the activities assigned to multiple users are not reported

Does anyone know how to solve this bug?

Sharepoint 2007 Task List problems

I have encountered some problems with the task list web part and I wondered if anyone could suggest any solutions?   So heres what is happening. I create a new task list and check the box to have it send out emails when tasks are assigned. I create a new task, assign it to myself and I get an email, great! Then I see that everyone elses tasks are viewable in sharepoint and in outlook 2007 when I sync the webpart with that, which is no good. Okay no problem I'll make a change in the advanced settings of the webpart so 'only their own' is set for read and edit. Sounds good. However now when I create a new task and assign it to myself (just like before) I don't get an email (and nor does anyone else). (Incidently I tried reversing the item level permissions but still no emails). A second problem seems to be that people now also don't see tasks in sharepoint that have been created by someone else and assigned to them. Useful!   Any help would be much appreciated. More info can be provided as needed.

How to stop the mail trigger while editing a task list item in sharepoint 2007

I have a requirement to stop the mail trigger while editing a task list item in SharePoint 2007. When I am creating a task the mail is sending to the “Assigned to” Properly. But when I am editing the same task item again a mail is sent to the Assigned to user which I want to stop. Is there any out of box feature / settings to stop this mail trigger while editing. Is there any facility to auto archive List items In Sharepoint 2007 and 2010?

i work for a software company, Recently client gave us a requirement where he need a functionality to archive list items based on its retention period... so i just wanted to know that is there any facility in Sarepoint 2007 or 2010 where we can auto archive list items.Kindly provide some information on this. thank you.

SharePoint 2010 Approval Workflow email is not showing link to Workflow Task list



I have created an out of box Approval workflow in SharePoint 2010. I am receiving email with below information

Task assigned by Chinna Malipedu on 10/7/2010.

Due by 1/1/0001

Approval started by Chinna Malipedu on 10/7/2010 11:43 AM
Comment: Approve



To complete this task:
1. Review SharePoint2010.
2. Perform the specific activities required for this task.
3. Use the Open this task button to mark the task as completed. (If you cannot update this task, you might not have access to it.)

But I need to go to Workflow Task List by clicking 3 item "Use the Open this Task" , this is not a link here

or I want like "Edit this task to mark the task as completed."  Edit this task should link to Task List

How to do this? do i missing any configuration?

Sharepoint 2010 and Outlook 2007 Problems!


I am using SP 2010 and have outlook 2007. I am using the calendar synch option and am easily able to synch the calendar from SP to Outlook. I was easily able to drag and drop all appointments at once from my outlook calendar to the SP calendar and they showed up on the SP site. Now I am unable to make any further changes on the SP calendar using Outlook that will show on the SP site. It will say it is "Send/Receive Status % complete" at the bottom of the Outlook screen, but when I look at the SP site, no changes are reflected. It will allow the opposite, if I make changes to the calendars on the SP site and then the changes will show on my Outlook SP calendars.

I have full permission in SP. Really confused why it let me synch at first FROM Outlook to the SP site, but no longer will.

Any ideas?

sharepoint 2010 task list added new column


Hi everyone,

I've created a task list on sharepoint 2010 by default it has set of columns i.e title, priority, status, %complete etc...... then I added a new column called 'task group' but when I put information on a newly added column and click on save, the information that I entered on the new column does not save.

Any idea???

Sharepoint Services 3.0 - hooking into outlook 2007 / 2010?


I'm looking at creating a Meeting Workplace using sharepoint services 3.0.

I'm reading a lot about calendars and how you can configure them to receive emails & update the calendar & such.

What I want to know is if it can be hooked into Outlook 2007 / 2010 so that it will either directly update my (and other members) calendars, or if it can be configured to broadcast the meeting request to the other members.


Move a sharepoint list in sharepoint 2007 to sharepoint 2010

i have a list on a sharepoint 2007 site and i want to move it to a sharepoint 2010 site. my problem is the items have files attached to them. what would be the best method to do this.

SharePoint 2010 alert emails are displaying strange symbols in outlook 2007


After recently setting up alerts in SharePoint 2010, when receiving email alerts the format looks pretty screwed up.  We are using Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2007.  When setting up SharePoint outgoing email, the character set is 65001 (Unicode UTF-8).   Below is a picture of the email.  Anyone have any suggestions?







Selecting a Task List in Sharepoint Designer 2007 while setting up "Collect Data from User"

When using Sharepoint Designer 2007 to Collect Data from User the task list cannot be selected.  Instead the Task list that is defaulted is the most recently created Task List.  How can I select a specific Task list to associate with"Collect Data from User"?

Show Sharepoint list tasks within the overarching To-do list in Outlook 2007



Is it possible to show Sharepoint list items in the overarching To-do list in Outlook 2007? (the one showing all tasks independent on which list it is in) I have no filters applied and can yet not see them.

Is this pending on some setting in Outlook?

reading sharepoint 2007 discussion board entries in outlook 2010 sometimes deletes or reposts them.


I get a huge fire alarm every month or two. Our users like to post and receive all the SharePoint lists from Outlook, but sometimes there will be mass reposts of old items, or deletion of mass items when they aren't even logged into SharePoint, or deletes a mass of discussion board entries when (again) the user isn't even in SharePoint nor deleted them from Outlook. I can't recreate the issue, and it seems completely at random. Any ideas what I can do to recreate, fix, or find out what is causing this?

This is a really big issue.

Its a MOSS 2007 server with Outlook 2010, and they are connected (Actions -> Connect with Outlook).


How to add custom list entries to mysite's calendar in Sharepoint 2007 site?


I would like to know below things

(1) How to create MySite for one specific member with other or administrator's access?

(2) Scenario : Administrator have created one SP2007 site. now Administrator have created one calendar (Sample calendar). Administrator have added some entries in calendar. now one user entered in portal site ansd view the calendar and he click on MySite menu. so this sample calendar entries should enter in that user's mysite calendar. How this can be achieved?

Outlook 2010 / Sharepoint authenthication issue


Hi all,

I'm using Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 64bit.

My company uses a hosted Sharepoint server (I guess it's Sharepoint 2010). There's a team calendar, which I would like to connect to my Outlook 2010. Linking it to Outlook works fine until it tries to update the calendar with the Sharepoint server. I shows the following error:

Error (0x80070005) when running the task "SharePoint": "You are not authorized to view the SharePoint list (team calendar). Contact the administrator of SharePoint site. HTTP 401."

So this tells me, I'm not authorized to connect - which is quite clear because Outlook never asked my for any username or password.

Funny thing is when I try to add an internet calendar (Right mouse click on calendars, Add calendar, Internet calendar) and use the url of the sharepoint list, it asks me for username and password, but then fails to add the calendar, as it isn't a webcal (which is OK).

BUT: As Outlook at this moment has the username and password, the exisiting Sharepoint calendar synchronizes correctly. This works until Outlook is being restarted.

Does anyone have an idea why I'm not asked for any authentication? Maybe there's some setting I haven't found yet? It works with trying to add the webcal any time when I start Outlook, but t

In sharepoint excel working fine in office 2007 but not in office 2010


Hi All,

we receive error  while trying to create excel sheet using the template we have uploaded on the SharePoint 2007.


This occurs on a machine that has Office 2010 installed. Earlier the machine had Office 2007 and everything was working fine.


Can you let me know why is problem is coming and how to resolve this.

Trying to send email using Sharepoint Designer 2007 workflow and email enabled list


I have a a list that recieves email. I have few fields that shows me the originator: "E-Mail From" and "E-Mail Sender".

I am trying to create a workflow that will generate an auto reply to the originator but the SPD fails to recognize the email address in these two fields. It's either truncating part of it or uses the html ( href=mailto:Demo@DemoSomething.com) in the To field.

Sharepoint 2007 and Excel 2010 features


Does Sharepoint 2007 Server support the new Excel 2010 feaures like slicers? Or do i have to have Sharepoint 2010 to get that working (considering all other components besides Sharepoint 2010 are available in my Sharepoint 2007 environment) ?
