sharepoint 2010 compatibility with Office 2007

I want to use sharepoint 2010 but use office 2007 along with this for all operations in moss 2010 like excel services, document management also exploit the features available in sharepoint 2010. Is it possible or compatibility issues occur?
I know SPD 2010 is required as SPD 2007 cannot be used to open the 2010 sites.

SharePoint 2007 and Office 2010 Compatibility

So far all of my clients that have been piloting Office 2010 have been running into complications with updating documents in a SharePoint 2007 environment.  They are receiving the following notification when trying to save their changes:

<Document Name> has not been uploaded to the server.  Do you want to close this file?  All Microsoft Office files that have changes pending upload to the server can be viewed here:Microsoft Office Upload Center

In the Upload center we have the following status: Upload Failed - Upload Error

No additional information is available, you just have an option to select 'Resolve'.  This tells you to save the document localy and then upload it to the SharePoint server.  Has anyone found a better log location that can be reviewed for status errors with the Upload Center?  Or, is Office 2010 even really usable within a corporate environment running SharePoint 2007?

Sharepoint Foundation 2010 problems with Office 2007 ActiveX controls

I have a SPF server that I recently upgraded from WSS 3 using the database attach method. The new server configuration is SQL 2008 R2 with SPF 2010 on Windows 2008 64bit SP2. Mostly things are working fairly well, though there have been a few fires to put out. The latest inflamation seems to be centered around ActiveX controls for Office 2007. I'm getting the following message whenever I try to create a new document using the New button: " 'New Document' requires a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible application and web browser. To add a document to this document library, click the 'Upload Document' button." On the client side, the browser is IE8 on Windows 7 (Windows is 64bit, though the browser is in 32 bit mode.) using Office 2007. I've also had the same problem with systems running XP. In terms of troubleshooting, other activeX related features seem to be working fine. I can open datasheet views, if I click on a document, it will open in the appropriate client. However, I have some libraries where the Word document template opens the document information panel and those will give thhe following message on open: "One or more ActiveX controls could not be displayed because either: 1)Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on thi page , or 2) You have blocked a publisher of one of the contols. As a result the page mi

Publish Office 2007 documents with metadata to SharePoint 2010?

Hi. I have SharePoint 2010 Enterprise based Intranet solution. We are publishing office 2007 documents to various document libraries there. When uploading documents normally to the document library, I can enter managed metadata to the documents which are later sorted and filtered by this metadata. But how can I enter metadata at the point where I'm publishing the document(Publish->Document Management Server)? I can get the document management pane to show my metadata -column in word as a textbox after the document is published, but the textbox is colored grey and says that I should modify that data on the server i.e. from sharepoint.

Trying to repair SharePoint 2010, running into an error with Microsoft.Office.InfoPath in GAC...

We've got an environment which has been hit badly by something we're not yet sure of. SharePoint has ceased working completely, and when I try to run SharePoint Configuration Wizard, it stops with an error concerning an windows assembly. Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Office.InfoPath.Server', VErsion=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' or one of its dependencies. Signature specified is zero-sized. (Exception from HRESULT:0x80131237) How can I fix that assembly?

Currency and number column error with office 2007 document formats in SharePoint 2010 library

Hi there,

The following error occurred within a SharePoint 2010 document library:

As I tried to test out the new SharePoint 2010 environment I changed the metadata from a few documents within a document library. I noticed that the data from the currency und number field was incorrect from a few documents. The numbers looked like that the decimal separator were ignored. For an example: 123.456,78 was saved as 12.345.678.

At first I thought it could be a language incompabilty but if that would be the case: Why would there be other documents which show the correct number?

I created another document library to recreate this error. And there I noticed the real reason: Every time I changed these fields from a document which was saved in the office 2007 format the error occurred. The metadata from the documents in the office 2003 format were correct.

Has anyone a similar problem or got an idea how to solve this problem?
