Columns of E-Mail Enabled List

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 27, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi everyone,

hopefully someone can help me with this MOSS-Issue:

when you activate incoming e-mails for a document library, sharepoint automatically creates a few columns in the document library such as "e-mail to", "e-mail subject", etc.

The problem is that it seems not be possible to access a few of these newly created columns.

In my case i have to create one list where the user should be able to send and also drop e-mails to while using the same columns for the emails metadata (to,from. email datetime). When i drop e-mails to the list, it doesn't care which 3rd party tool/outlook add-in i use - they are all not able to access the newly created columns to save the email metadata into.

So is there a way to change the columns used for incoming emails in a document library ?

Trying to send email using Sharepoint Designer 2007 workflow and email enabled list

I have a a list that recieves email. I have few fields that shows me the originator: "E-Mail From" and "E-Mail Sender".

I am trying to create a workflow that will generate an auto reply to the originator but the SPD fails to recognize the email address in these two fields. It's either truncating part of it or uses the html ( href=mailto:Demo@DemoSomething.com) in the To field.

Thank you,

Trying to move FK links from list as columns to my navigation area.

Hello,

I'm using vs2010, EF. I have a left column simular to a navigation area and I'm trying to figure out a way to display the FK links that appear at the end of a list as columns, in my navigation area.  One thought was to place a duplicate table in the navigation area and hide all the columns except for the FK links. Is there an easier way to accomplish this.

Thanks, Jeff

does SPD support filtering of the mail title/body we send to a list/library?

for example, if we send a mail with the title of "%hostname% %ipaddress%" to a list. can SPD WF filter the title and get %hostname% to a new variable? the reason to ask this is i want to send a well-formated mail to sharepoint and the automatical WF can recognize the change of the list items and update the relevant columns by the filtered content from mail title or body. thanks!

Can Managed Metadata columns be edited in the DataSheet View of a Library or List?

Hi, I like to mass set document properties in a library using DataSheet View, the properties are columns based on Managed MetaData values. When I open the doc library in Datasheet view, those columns become read-only. I made sure the library does not require 'Check Out' and also tested it in other views then the AllItems view. Can someone confirm what is the expected functionality and or if there is a bug?

Query Sharepoint list, rich text columns returning HTML tags

Hi! So I have an issue that maybe someone of you have encountered as well. I am querying a Sharepoint list and creating a report from the data collected from this list. This all works fine except that one of the columns in this list is of the type "Multiple lines of text" and also supports "rich text" with different fonts, sizes and so on. This has the effect that the text returned from this column is wrapped in HTML tags that specifies how the text should be formatted. Naturally I do not want this HTML code to appear in my report so for now I have used custom code to do a string.replace and replaced for example <div></div> and <br> with "". However, this column also has url references to documents and these links shows up like this "/servername/site/subsite/Gemensamma%20dokument/Mwh.docx">http://servername/site/subsite/Gemensamma%20dokument/Mwh.docx There is some sort of double reference to the document that I guess like the HTML tags are embedded in the answer from the rich text column and this is not so easy to do a string replace on because the url varies with the different document and document names. My question really is if anyone of you have done a similar report that I am doing, and have encountered this fenomen with this sharepoint column and how you did to solve this? I have tried to creat

Name Column Not Included in List Columns

I created a custom content type derived from the Folder content type.  The “Name” column is included in the custom content type columns.  I add the custom content type to a custom list that allows multiple content types and the "Name" column from the custom content type is not included in the list columns.  Normally, the custom content type columns are added to the list columns, but for some reason it works differently for the “Name” column.  Even though the “Name” column is not a typical site column and not included, it’s a problem for me because I need it for a SharePoint/SQL Server data flow task. The data flow task is using the SharePoint list source and destination components and I need to map a database column to the “Name” column and it must be specified in the list columns.  Does the “File” type for the “Name” column make it impossible to be included in the list columns?  Any help is appreciated.

SharePoint 2010 email enabled list with workflow has incorrect User ID when items are emailed to the

I have set up an approval workflow for a document library that has email enabled. Emails come into the document library fine, however, if an item is emailed to the library the workflow kicks off with the initiator as "System Account" rather than the person who submitted the email. This makes the error of "The e-mail message cannot be sent. Make sure the e-mail has a valid recipient." come up. If someone submits a document directly to the library (by logging into sharepoint and submitting) everything works fine. The person submitting by email is a valid sharepoint user and the profile shows the correct email address. The Created by and Modified by fields show the correct person (rather than System Account), it's only the workflow User ID that shows incorrectly if document is emailed to library. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
