I have a technical problem as the title described. I need to achieve this by SSIS that means the destination file could be XML or HTML. However, before inserting dynamic data from source, an XML or HTML format table must be predefined. In the final destination
file, the predefined table and dynamic data will be both output.
Can anybody give some suggestions or reference links regarding to this? Appreciate it.
Hello all, here's a problem I've been trying to figure out an elegant solution for, but so far I'm coming up blank. I have a situation where I'd like to display view-only data and Dynamic Data together on the same page (without creating custom insert.aspx and edit.aspx pages). I've been playing around with using a SQL view, so that it returns me both my view-only fields and my updateable fields as well. I'm having issues with the insert side of things, the edit page works quite well, and I know I'm going to have to create custom delete logic. The major drawback to using a SQL view though is that to get it to behave you have to 'hack' the .edmx file, and I'm not sure I want to do that. So I guess what I'm asking is that has anyone had any success with this, or should I just bite the bullet and create custom pages for the situation of having view-only data and Dynamic Data on the same page? For the record I'm using the Release Candidate version of VS, and my website is an "ASP.NET Dynamic Entities Web Site". Thanks!
I am at my wits end and need some help, I have a dynamic data site, and have built a formview for my parent table, Claims (parent), Claims has a child table called DamagedVehicles, I want all the fields on the Cliams table and the fields on the DamagedVehicle to be displayed for insert on the same formsview, when the user fills in all data it should insert the claim and the damagedvehicle at the same time and set the foriegn key on the Damagedvehciles row to the Primary key of the claim, I dont know were to start any examples in VB.net or C# will be greatly appricated. i have been search for 3 days now trying to come to a solution and nothing has worked.
thanks in advance.Andrew
can any one pls tell me if it is able to do something like this inside stored procedure, i know its possible in ssis or using sql agent jobs and schedule step wise, but within a stored proc, is it possible
insert into table1
select * from table 1
if (task1) succeds
insert into table 2
select * from source2
task3:(execute only if task 2 succeeds)
insert into table3
select * from source 3
I finally figured out how
to retrieve primary key values from the insert page template that are inserted via
defaults in a SQL Server database. I wanted to get the keys so that I could route
the user from the insert page template to the details page template (regardless
of whether it’s a custom route or not). There are a number of scenarios where
separate insert and details pages are desirable, and routing from the insert page
back to the list page is not desirable as Dynamic Data does out of the box. Since
I could not find an answer to this problem anywhere with significant effort, I decided
I would document it for others, I hope you find it useful - it turns out that it's
quite simple under 10 lines of code. I also applied the same idea to a Dynamic Data
Entities application which works exactly the same except for two minor changes,
I have documented it below as well.
For starters, as is documented plenty elsewhere but bears repeating here, you must
first annotate your Entity Data Model with ScaffoldColumn = false for identity columns
and guids that get assigned with newid() in thedatabase. This tells Dynamic Data
not to attempt to pass a null value from the page through to
