Hi folks, about 1,5 months ago I have set up a - 1 server - development environment for PS2007. I had installed all components on one Windows 2008 box. Everything worked fine, now I receive an error. MOSS 2007 SQL 2008 SP1 MOPS 2007 SP2 I have done the additional installation for the cube building part according to this page http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd285466(office.12).aspx Microsoft SQL Server Native Client (sqlncli.msi) Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Management Objects Collection (sqlserver2005_xmo.msi) Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backwards Compatibility Components (SQLServer2005_BC.msi) Everything worked fine. Cubes were able to be built.. everything was good. In order to have Reports built I added SSRS 2008 Reporting Services Addin for MOSS (rsSharePoint_x64) Business Intelligence Development Studio (=Visual Studio for MSSQL) No CUs have been added to this box. NOW, Cube creation fails with the error: ULS LOG: [CBS] ProjectServerOlapCubeGenerator status: Analysis Services session failed with the following error: Failed to connect to the Analysis Services server <IPADDRESS>. Workflow project compilation fails with error 348: Compilation failed. Cannot execute a program.

Hi, I am trying to build a workflow project on a PC and I am getting the "error 348: Compilation failed. Cannot execute a program." error. This project is part of a bigger solution and it used to build just fine on my PC. Also, the project and the solution build OK on several other computers. I am sure that the problem is something on my PC. 1. I am not sure what changed to make the project start failing. 2. I tried to delete the project, source and all folders from the disk and sync to the source control again 3. Re-installed the .NET 3.5 framework 4. Uninstalled Visual Studio 2008, deleted the visual studio folder under program files, and reinstalled VS 2008 5. I noticed the the file referenced in the error "...Temp\8sl_helt.cmdline" does not exist under the Temp folder. An empty folder called "8sl_helt"however is created, but there is no file with the cmdline extension. I turned up the output log to "diagnostics", this is the output generated when the error happens. Have anybody seen this? Done building target "_ComputeNonExistentFileProperty" in project "QCReviewWorkflowLibrary.csproj". Target "CreateWorkflowManifestResourceNames" skipped. Previously built successfully. Target "WorkflowCompilation" in file "C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\Windows Workflow Foundation\v3.5\Workflow.T

VS Workflow creation fails to be created on one site

This is a long shot, there must be many reasons for the failure

Its a 2007 site recently upgraded using database attach.

When I try to create any sort of workflow on a particular site VS2010 asks for the site name then the dialog box disappears with no error message.

  • Can create all other project types on this site
  • Site opens OK in browser and SP designer
  • Can create workflows on subsites

Anyone else experienced the same?

Thanks,

Need help regarding C# / AJAX Dynamic Controls creation

public partial class Default : System.Web.UI.Page

//Assign values as a specific Dynamic WebControl Creation.
List<RadioButton> radioButtons = new List<RadioButton>();
List<CheckBox> checkBoxes = new List<CheckBox>();

Then I created a class that would dynamically create a table containing the available flights depending on session.. (See CallPageLoad())

The placeholder and button is inside the UpdatePanel...

on the button inside the update panel, (btnSelect)

i have this code which works...

protected void btnSelect_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{

Label1.Text = Convert.ToString(radioButtons.Count);

It detects the number of radiobuttons that were dynamically created...

But when I use the following code inside the BtnSelectClick event...

//PLS HELP.......

Can't get an Icon to show for Desktop shortcut and Program Menu

Hi

I've created a SetupWizard, but can't get it to show the Icon for the shortcut on desktop and program menu. The installation goes fine without any errors, the only problem is the icon.

I've made a shortcut of my exe file in the Application Folder and dragged the shortcut to the Desktop folder, then on the shortcut properties, I assigned it an icon picture located in Application Folder.

Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

ToggleDebugCompilation fails trying to perform "an unauthorised operation"

Hi,

We're having a problem with the Visual Studio 2008 RTW version of the web deployment projects on a colleagues machine. The project works fine if I run it on my machine, but when he tries to run it on his machine he gets:

<SNIP : Most output removed>
  Task "Exec"
    Command:
    if exist ".\TempBuildDir\" rd /s /q ".\TempBuildDir\"
  Done executing task "Exec".
  Using "ToggleDebugCompilation" task from assembly "C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\WebDeployment\v9.0\Microsoft.WebDeployment.Tasks.dll".
  Task "ToggleDebugCompilation"
    Updating Web.config <compilation> element debug attribute to 'True'.
    C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\WebDeployment\v9.0\Microsoft.WebDeployment.targets(639,7): error : Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation.
    C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\WebDeployment\v9.0\Microsoft.WebDeployment.targets(639,7): error MSB4018: The "ToggleDebugCompilation" task failed unexpectedly.
    C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\WebDeployment\v9.0\Microsoft.WebDeployment.targets(639,7): error MSB4018: System.ArgumentNullException: Parameter "message" cannot be null.
    C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\WebDeployment

Access to report file denied. Another program may be using it.

Migrated from Windows 2000 ASP.NET 1.1 to Windows 2003, ASP.NET 2.0 and had this error. All the forums/MSDN/Blogs says to give Read/Write Access to C:\Windows\Temp folder. Why should we give Full Access to some folder in Production server?? In windows 2000, ASP.NET 2.0 development machine, no files are created when we run crystal reports from aspx pages. Then why in Windows 2003 servers, we need to give rights to temp folder?? It is a simple code

crReportDocument.Load(Server.MapPath("Project.rpt"));

And the code is not storing anything on the disk. Then why should it store the GUID.rpt file in Temp file in Windows 2003 server?? Any alternative is there not to store anything on the disk when Crystal Reports are opened in aspx page??

ArrayList.ToArray fails!

In my app, I have code similar to the following:

          try

          {

               ArrayList alStartFrames = new ArrayList();
                byte[] abytTest = { 1, 2 };

                alStartFrames.Add(abytTest);

                byte[] abytCombinedFrame = (byte[])alStartFrames.ToArray(typeof(byte));
            }

            catch (Exception ex)
            {
                Response.Write(ex.Message);
            }

The call to ToArray always fails and the exception is caught even though I'm pretty sure alStartFrames is an array list of byte arrays. Anyone have any insight on why this is happening?! TIA

Design: Inspect and Optimize Your Program's Memory Usage with the .NET Profiler API

Developers using .NET often make memory leak tracking a low priority because the common language runtime takes care of garbage collection. What few developers realize, however, is that their objects' lifespans, along with their size and what other objects have been instantiated, all affect how they are cleaned up. Depending on the particular circumstances, these combinations can negatively affect performance, especially over the lifetime of an application. This article presents a way for developers to see memory usage and understand garbage collection using the .NET Profiler API. Along the way, a sample application to demonstrate these principles is built.

Visual FoxPro 7.0: Program Your Data with Powerful New COM, XML, and Web Services Support

Visual FoxPro 7.0 represents a significant improvement over version 6.0. There are many new features designed to support COM, XML, and Web Services. Now COM servers built with Visual FoxPro are more flexible and robust thanks to strong typing and the ability to implement interfaces from other type libraries. IDE features like the new object browser combine convenience and efficiency, and other language features such as event handlers and early binding to COM objects increase performance. Lastly, an enhanced session class plus several new XML functions make Visual FoxPro a great choice for Web application development.

Fax Services: Send Any Printable File From Your Program in Windows 2000

All versions of Windows 2000 have fax services built in, so sending faxes manually is as easy as setting fax options from the control panel. Faxes can also be sent programmatically in Windows 2000 using either COM Automation or the standard C API. The example in this article uses COM Automation with Visual Basic and MFC to programmatically manage faxing. The objects used for fax transmission, such as the FaxServer and FaxDoc objects, as well as their properties and methods, are explained. Because faxing of files you can't print can be problematic, this process is explained. Finally, this article implements a fax routing extension-a plug-in that exports standard functions and implements routing methods for processing received faxes.
