Gridview, guid ID, and Location

Presently I have a gridview, I'm in the process of populating the gridview. One colunm "Location" is displayed as the guid ID.  I need for that colunm to be displayed as the location. Here some of the code to display the grid.

myObject orgs = new myObject();
grid.DataSource = orgs;

orgs gets a list of organizations (locations) for the grid. How can I replace the guid ID with it location. Yes the guid ID and location are in a table.

Service to monitor SFTP location

Hi there,

I want to develop a service (may be Web / WCF / Windows) to monitor a SFTP location for excel files. As soon as any excel file arrives, service should be able to move it to some location and initiate another process.

My queries are:

1. Can we monitor SFTP using services? If not, what are the other ways to monitor.

2. Which service (Web / WCF / Windows) should I use? What could be the challenges?

Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks

Initialize snapshot fro alternate location - multiple .bcp files for an article

I have to replicate over 50GB of data over a slow network.  I did not use the option to initialize snapshot from database backup because the replication articles contain row filters.  If I do that, I'll have to run a lot of scripts to remove the data and other unnecessary database objects on the subscriber. Instead, I created a workaround.  On the publisher, I first create the actual push subscription to the target subscriber on the publication.  This subscription is set not to initialize from snapshot.  I then created a second push subscription on the same publication, but the subscriber is a random database on the publisher server.  This second subscription is a dummy subscription set to initialize from snapshot - the purpose is to generate the necessary snapshot files.  I then reinitialized all subscriptions and generate the new snapshot files. On the subscriber, an empty database is created with the same tables as the publisher database.  I created an identical publication on this empty database, and a dummy push subscription on the target subscriber.  The subscription is reinitialized, and the snapshot files on the empty database is created.  These dummy snapshot files are then overwritten with the actual snapshot files created on the publisher, and then I synchronize the the dummy subscriptions with the actual sn

Location-Based Metadata #sp2010plaintalk

This is the first post in a series of SharePoint 2010 plaintalk (#sp2010plaintalk) aimed at SharePoint professionals who are exploring features of the platform, typically to do feasibility assessments for applying platform features in projects. With every new version of the platform I tend to spend a lot of time digging through the marketing and technical content of the new features to understand what a new feature *really* does. We'll start out with a small one on Location-Based Metadata (sounds...(read more)

Web Folder problem : This file cannot be saved to this location because there is no connection to th

When I check out a Word 2007 document from a list, I cannot save it back to the server.  I get:   This file cannot be saved to this location because there is no connection to the server.  Check your network connection and try again.   I am using a Virtual Machine (Virtual PC).  I have the Microsoft Loopback adapter installed.    The server has a static IP address and is a domain controller. I am able to access the web folder through Windows Explorer.   How do I set up Office, Sharepoint and Webdav so that I can check files out of sharepoint and save them back, on a virtual machine?

Overriding runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests for single location

There is an ASP.NET application, having a virtual directory VIRDIR. Now if I code in web.config... <system.webServer>   <modules /></system.webServer> <location path="VIRDIR">   <system.webServer>      <modules runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests="true" />   </system.webServer></location> should this work the obvious way? With "runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests=false" for the entire web, except for the virtual directory, where "runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests=true". It seems as if "runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests" cannot be overridden for a specific location. Is this correct? Michael G. Schneider

SQL Server Management Studio - Invalid access to memory location

In SQL Server Management Studio (for SQL Server 2008), when I try to open a new query window, or create a new database, I get a popup error box saying the following: "Invalid access to memory location. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800703E6) (mscorlib)" This just started happening in the last few days, and I have no idea why.  I even uninstalled SQL Server 2008, and then installed SQL Server 2008 R2, and continued to get the exact same error, in the exact same scenarios. Please let me know if you have seen this before, and what I might try to correct it. Thanks, Robert

Server drafts location not being saved Excel 2007

Hi, I have problem with "Server drafts location" not being remembered. And my "Server drafts location on this computer" button is not even checked but I still get the message: "The server drafts location you entered for offline editing is not valid or you do not have permission to access that location. Please specify a location on your local computer" Even if I change and choose a place for this it renders this message as soon as I for example "Adjusted List". Every thing I change in "Excel Options" renders the above message. I have full control over the "Application data" folder as well. Please see if you can help out since this is really giving me trouble in my daily work. I have Microsoft Windows XP professional sp 3 and Office 2007 latest sp. Thanks in advance! Mari
