I've been recently looking into coding a whole instant messenger application for a uni project. From researching into socket programming using tcp client it seems that anything can be sent via tcp once converted to a stream of bytes.
So, if I were to implement code that converts an audio file (possibly from a mic) to bytes and then sent this to the recipient who converted it back to an audio signal which played out loud using a media plug in of some sort, is that not VOIP??? If not, what else is VOIP??
Thanks in advance,
