How to determine TCP IPAddress for WCF address

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 25, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WCF

Hello all,

New to WCF, so newbie question here. I have successfully created win forms Host and Client applictions using WCF. Using an endpoint address of localhost, they communicate fine back and forth.

We are using ftp for communication because the project needs to run on multiple machines and will not be exposed to the internet. How do I determine what IP address to use so that I can reach the host from multiple machines?

Determine Ping SendAsync Address That Timed Out

I'm using Ping SendAsync to scan a network and update displays with ONLINE or OFFLINE icons based on which computers replied and which didn't. Right now I set a the display of each computer to OFFLINE before I ping it and if I get SUCCESS reply I change the display status back to ONLINE. This occasionally causes a momentary blip on the display especially if there is some latency in the reply. What I mean is the display status goes from ONLINE to OFFLINE and then back to ONLINE for computers that are online.

What I'd like to do is eliminate the step of setting the display to OFFLINE before the ping to avoid the occasion blips. Since there is no guarantee about the order the replies will come back, how do I tell who replied and who timed out when the Ping Completed event fires?

IP Address Blocking or Restriction in SQL Server

Image processing, determine white space and crop

I have created a image upload for our ID card system to allow users to upload new images, edit them and submit for approval.  This is all working well with a combination of asp.net (c#) and jquery to give a seemless editor etc.

We have had a few users who I cannot believe have scanned a photo of themself and then just submitted it with the A4 page of white and little photo.

I am wondering if anyone can help with a suggestion on how I could possibly reduce the load of these coming through (I can't believe they can be this stupid), it stipulates UK passport standards.

Would my only option be to check for a single continues colour that occurs and if it reaches a certain percentage point say 60% then to just send back an error stating they need to crop the image.

Can anyone help with providing sample or that I can use to move this one on.

I am still in disbelief on this one.  the other one is they take a photo of whole body and other in it and cut straight down middle chopping the people out but supplying a photo that no use for an id photo card....but that I can't imagine being solved programatically as I need to determine where their face dimensions are and what percentage of the actual photo is taken up by it and if it below a threshold reject it.

Advanced Basics: What's My IP Address?

If you're like me, you regularly do tech-support for family, friends, and neighbors. You can't go to a party without hearing the familiar refrain: "I've just got a quick question. " It's always something-their Internet connections get dropped, they've got a virus, they can't install some piece of hardware, or some file has gone missing.
