Problem with named pipe server in C# and client in native C++ (ACCESS_DENIED)

I'm trying to use IPC between a server application in C# and client application in native C++.

The IPC is "named pipes".

The OS is Windows 7.

It works just fine with C# server and C# client.

It works fine with native C++ server and native C++ client.

However, the native C++ client refuses to connect to same C# server. The error code is 5 (ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED).

Both security descriptors are NULL.

Does anyone here uses such combination or can shed some light on this issues?

Problem to obtain client IP on web service

I'm having problems to obtain the client IP on web service. Here's my scenario:

One server with Windows 2003, hosting the web service using .Net Framework 2.0, with IP and host name ServerTransaction.
Other server with Windows 2003, hosting a web application using .Net Framework 2.0, that consuming the web service on  ServerTransaction, with IP and host name ServerApplication.
Many other computers on the local network (IPs:,,, ...) acessing the web application on ServerApplication.

On the code of the web service I've tried to use HttpContext.Current.Request.UserHostAddress or HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables("REMOTE_ADDR") or HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FORR"), but always I can only get the IP of ServerApplication (

Any idea or tip?

Thanks and sorry for my bad english.

Problem consuming 32bit WCF service which references a native Dll in a 64 bit OS(Windows Server 2008

I have some 32bit Dlls which i want to use it in 64bit OS as i do not have a source code of this to recompile it for 64 bit OS. I have created a x86(32 Bit) WCF service which calls these Dlls and hosted it as a Windows Service on a x64(64 Bit) machine using Windows Server 2008. I have created one more x64 client which calls a function in the WCF which in turn calls a function from the 32 bit native Dll. Whenever i try calling this WCF from the client I get an error as given below. Can anybody please guide as to where I am going wrong and what is needed to solve this issue. Thanks in advance for any help.******The Error Message********************System.BadImageFormatException: Could not load file or assembly 'TestWCFWrapper, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. Logon Trigger blocking problem

I'm trying to learn how to use microsoft sync framework using the following example, but am having a problem with a logon trigger blocking something.  If I disable the trigger it will work, but that really isn't an option.  Normally, if something is blocked it is placed in a blockedLog table with the name of the user and application.  If we need to allow access then we can put this information in the BlockedExceptions table to allow it through.  Initially, the .Net SqlClient Data Provider gets blocked.  After adding it to the accepts table, I still get a blocking error due to the trigger, but I can't determine what is actually being blocked.  The table never fills with any information about what gets blocked after fixing the initial .Net SqlClient Data Provider error and I have not been able to figure out anything using the profiler or activity monitor. Sync Example in question:http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ProjectName=sync&ReleaseId=3422 CREATE TRIGGER [BlockLogins] ON ALL SERVER WITH EXECUTE AS 'DBTrigger' FOR LOGON AS BEGIN DECLARE @Allow bit SET @Allow = 'TRUE' IF (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM DB.dbo.Programs WHERE AppTitle= APP_NAME()) = 0 BEGIN -- ** Other allowed apps and users are in BlockedExceptions ** -- If it is a non-application that any user is allowed to run then let it through.

Problem registering client side script to interact with AJAX controls

Im using some animationExtenders in my project. The thing is, the objects to be animated are created programmatically, hence i need to also build programmatically the javascript code that will interact with them.It runs properly but, when i interact with these animated controls and the javascript functions are supposed to get to work, i keep getting the usual run-time error saying that the javascript functions are not defined. But, if i check the final html code generated, i can see how all the controls i built programmatically are there ,as well as the script.Tried both RegisterStartupScript and RegisterClientScriptBlock, no luck.Any advice? thanks in advance

Problem with custom onBeginRequest-Handler on client-side when partial postback is triggered from ja

Hi, I have a Modal Dialog with a Ribbon, which starts a long running serverside operation. To inform the user about the progress, I implemented Dino Espositos "Progress Monitor Framework", which worked perfectly (after some work) - at least when I trigger the partial postback from a control inside the UpdatePanel used for displaying the progress. In this approach custom onBeginRequest and onEndRequest-Handlers are used to start and stop displaying the current status of the serverside operation. When I start the operation from a Button on the ribbon by doing "something" with the mentioned control via javascript the serverside operation is started, but my onBeginRequestHandler ist not called and the progress monitor is not "switched on" on the client. Here is what I´m doing in my javascript :  function pageLoad() { progressManager = new VCSharePoint.MultiEdit.Progress(); // Remove existing handlers Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().remove_beginRequest(onBeginRequest); Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().remove_endRequest(onEndRequest); // Register handlers for UpdatePanel client events Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_beginRequest(onBeginRequest); Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_endRequest(onEndRequest); } // onBeginRequest() // Called w

.NET Remoting Problem with Sponsor Renewal on CAO (Client Activated Object) Architecture

I have figured out a strange behaviour when using Client Activated Sponsorship and hope to get a hint from somebody who already got in touch with similar problems. The case is as follows: An Application is used by a server and a client. Both use (or try to use) the same objects after a user login. A lease of a session object on the server (serverSession) is initialised correctly with all of its regular remoting values in the lease for InitialLeaseTime (10) SponsorshipTimeout (5) RenewOnCallTime (10) In order to test the behaviour the values are set to seconds. It is easier to check the log every few seconds, than to wait some minutes until the Sponsorship Renewal call. If a client performs a login, the lease is according to its logged in state renewed each 10 seconds (or whatever the value is set to). So no problem so far. The lease will be alive as long as the client performs a logout, by the way it is used on a local network. Just compare the log (the renewal is firing every 10 seconds as expected): 2010-02-17 10:29:40.4338 Info Log5 SponsorObject:Renewal() 2010-02-17 10:29:50.4308 Info Log5 SponsorObject:Renewal() 2010-02-17 10:30:00.4328 Info Log5 SponsorObject:Renewal() 2010-02-17 10:30:10.4298 Info Log5 SponsorObject:Renewal() 2010-02-17 10:30:20.4318 Info Log5 SponsorObject:Renewal() 2010-02-17 10:30:30.4288 Info Log5 SponsorObject:Renewal() As soon as

Client Script Replace Problem with .NET 4.0 ScriptManager

I want to replace the WebUIValidation.js client script (located in System.Web assembly) with my own custom script using the new script replacement features in .NET 4.0.

The replacement works fine in a simple sample form I created, but in my much more complicated wizard form it fails.  On partial post-back the ScriptManager writes the System.Web version to the browser and I end up with both Microsoft's version and my version of the script in the browser. Since the System.Web version loads last, it replaces my custom script.

I am using the ToolkitScriptManager intead of the ScriptManager everywhere. The form that needs the replacement has dynamically created controls (including the validation controls) and has several control extenders based on the AjaxControlToolkit.

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be going wrong, or have any ideas on a workaround for this?

Any help will be appreaciated,

Problem with getting client's IP address in WCF service on IIS7

I have deployed a WCF duplex service on IIS7 that gets the client's IP address and based on that if the IP address repeats, the client is not given access to service. The problem is that when I deploy it on IIS7 and try to access it from another PC on LAN, it identifies the new PC having the same IP address as the one that the service is deployed in(just for testing purpose, I am returning the retrieved IP address to client), and So, I am not able to access the service from another PC.

Can anyone help me with this?

Native C++ included in C# - problem with native singleton

Hi all

i am trying to integrate a static native c++ lib into a c# project. I use a c++/cli intermediate layer
which wraps the native classes and exposes them to the managed layer. That has worked fine so
far, i even managed to overcome the problem of using Boost library in the native classes.
I use VS 2005.

I now have a problem when i try to instantiate a singleton within the native code, which is implemented
according to the following principle

public : static Singleton* exemplar();
: Singleton() {}
: static Singleton * instanz;

This singleton class is not wrapped in the c++/cli layer but it is constructed within an exposed native class.

The code compiles and links fine, but when i start the c#-exe i receive the error message:
ModuleLoadException: The C++ module failed to load during native initialization
ie the program doesn't even reach any executable sections.

Is that a known problem?
Can anybody point me towards a solution?

SSRS Print problem on client machines

Initially after deploying SSRS 2005 report on server, the client machine could not avail print functionality because of the error "Unable to load client print control". Inspite of allowing ActiveX installation, the print functionality was not working.

Googling on this issue I found that rsclientprint.dll needs to be registered in C:\Windows\system32.

After successfully registering this dll, print functionality started working on some machines. However on some machines it started giving the error 'Error loading resource library.(0x8007007E)'.

Now I am stuck as to what needs to be done. Any help is appreciated.

Logon problem

I installed 2008 SQL Enterprise without an error.

When I tried to log on I failed to logon with below error. When it is SQL authentication login came up as 'sa' and blank for password. When I installed I remember that I didn't deginate a password for 'sa' user. I chose XXX/SYSTEM for Database Engine. Now I am in trouble not knowing how to logon.
