SQL Server 2008 r2 developer RTM edition not installing on windows 7 64 bit machine with latest serv

This machine had sql server 2008 installed.  I removed it since the upgrade would not work.   The machine currently doesn't have any sql installs.    The error fails during the Setup Support Files step.    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.  I've included last part of file since you can only include 60k chars here.

Error installing SQL Server 2008 R2 on a Windows 7 Ultimate 32 machine

HI all, I'm installing the Developer edition of MS SQL Server 2008 R2 (downloaded today) on a Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit virtual machine (using VMWare Workstation 6.5).  Yesterday I had tried MS SQL Server 2008 R0 with the same results.  Both give an error about 30% into the installation process: "An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'VSLangProj80,Version="8.0.0.0",PublicKeyToken="b03f5f7f11d50a3a",Culture="neutral",FileVersion="8.0.50727.1826"' When I click the OK button, the install rolls that last bit back and then continues.  Unfortunatly I didn't take a screenshot of the main install window, just the error window. Any ideas what this error means?  The install yesterday seemed to work, but I'm not through the R2 install yet.  The R0 install also failed to install the documentation for some reason (I left it running during the night) Note that I have VS2010 (original release plus downloaded updates) installed and then just some small stuff like Snagit and Skype on this VM.  I updated Windows 7 completely before I started installing R2 so it is completely up to date as of midnight! I just purchased Windows 7 Professional  for installation on an Intel 64-bit laptop. I planned on purchasing SQL Server 2008 Developer Edition but noticed that Windows 7 Professional is missing on the requirements list.

I was hoping someone here could verify that SQL Server 2008 Developer Edition will install on the OS mentioned above.

Here's the requirements page I was viewing:

MS Word Component Not Getting Created on Windows 2008 64 bit Web Server Edition When I Try Using ASP

Hi All, This might look like a similar question to a lot of you considering there are a lot of web activity happening in terms of blogs/forums/suggestions that I have seen with reference to changes that one needs to do in COM+ Services to enable their ASP.NET Web Application to be able to create Word Objects & I have actually used them personally & they worked for me on Windows 2003 32 bit/64 bit servers. The issue started some 1 month back when I was told that we are upgrading our server to Windows 2008 Web Server edition 64 bit ‘cause of some real benefits it offers if used only as a web server. This was just great as we tested a lot of features /functionality that we were using on our existing server & everything seems to be working just fine on this product by Microsoft. However we also have one web module which is responsible for opening up a MS Word 2007 template file at runtime and fill it with data & is then converted into a PDF document. A lot of ideas on Web suggested that we should move onto Open XML standards to generate documents at runtime, which I have been able to do with no issues. But one activity which still requires me to create a Word document is when I have to convert/SaveAs the Word (docx) document into PDF. I tried all the COM+ & registry related changes that I did on my Windows 2003 64 bit server, but nothing seems

sql server 2008 R2 Developer Edition

I am having trouble finding a place to actually purchase the developer edition of Sql Server 2008 R2. I went to CDW and they provide the ability to purchase a developer license but don't provide the actual software. Where can I actually purchase the developer edition without subscribing to MSDN? Thanks Royal

SQL Server 2008 R2 Developer Edition

I've been looking to get SQL Server 2008 R2 Developer Edition since I discovered that there was going to be one.  My question is, where do i get it?  I can't find any place that references a place to buy it, or upgrade to it.  Any ideas?
