Office InfoPath 2003 is a new Microsoft Office product that lets you design your own data collection forms that, when submitted, turn the user-entered data into XML for any XML-supporting process to use. With an InfoPath solution in place, you can convert all those commonly used paper forms into Microsoft Office-based forms and end the cycle of handwriting and reentering data into your systems. Today organizations are beginning to realize the value of the mountains of data they collect every day, how hard it is to access it, and are striving to mine it effectively. InfoPath will aid in the design of effective data collection systems. Here the author shows you how to get started.

I'm having a big problem in my Sharepoint Environment.
So far I've created a form in InfoPath 2003 and successfully published it to a Form Library. It's also submitting correctly (at least at first).
Now after I added a couple forms, let's say three forms with unique file names, and then I open the second one, make a change and submit it again, it disappears from the "All Items" list. I can still see it sitting in the "Explorer View", but it's missing
in the other. Now when I try to "Fill out a new Form", it either won't show up in the list or it will show up but with the column fields that have been populated previously.
We're using WSS 2.0 and InfoPath 2003.
I used this guide to create the unique filenames: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/sharepoint/SharePointSubmitInfoPath.aspx
In my view, the issue lies in trying to overwrite existing files and not appearing in the list.
Any help is much appreciated !!!
Thanks in advance.
I am a newbie to SharePoint. Please let me know if I didn't explain my problem well...
We built the new SharePoint server 2007 on a different physcial box from the old server 2003. There are huge amount of InfoPath forms in form library on the old server. I was told that: to get these forms moved over to the new server 2007, we have
to save the forms and re-publish to the new server one at a time. This will be really time consume and also loosing the attributes of the original forms, the date it was created and modified etc.
I would like to see if there is a way to move one form library at a time, and just copy the forms over; not publishing them again.
SharePoint 2007 SP2 - 64 bit Standard edition

Issues is with Infopath forms saved to a document library (NO FORMS SERVICES ENABLED - MOSS Standard license), no code behind, just XML based form with a number of fields in it linked to an xsn that is located on another server entirely.
Client machines are IE 6 Infopath 2003
When form is opened by an owner - works fine, client opens no issue
When form is opened by a contributor - unless checked out first or if the "Require checkout before allowing editing of file" is disabled works fine
When form is not checked out to contributor or if the user if a viewer the error is:
"Infopath cannot open the following file:<filename>.xml. The file does not appear to be an infopath form ."
"The processing instruction in the file is missing or invalid"
I tried a couple tests, I logged into Windows as a user who had viewer rights and then logged into MOSS as a user who has owner rights. Issue still happens. So I am assuming there is a second call being made by the InfoPath client using the windows identity
and integrated auth.
If I download the file to my desktop it opens just fine. I cannot determine what ch
Been pulling my hair out trying to figure this one and am hoping that you are able to help.
Have been putting together a new SP2010 Standard environment and have gone as far as creating some sites, sub sites and generating Content Types and assigning to Doc Libraries etc.
The problem comes when we are attempting to upload existing Office 2003 files, namely Word .doc files, and only happens on specific libraries, this is not across the board.
When we upload an existing 2003 file to the affected library, we are not able to set any meta data to the file as SharePoint registers the Content Type as a Folder as seen in the properties of the file:
However, if we upload a pre-existing Office 2010 .docx, we get the full array of Meta Data and the correct Content Type has been assigned.
Do any wonderful people have any clues as to what could be causing this?
Thanks in advance
My Infopath form contains an image upload button . Is it possible to upload multiple files at a time from the same upload button.
I have an annoucement list, which has been customized in infopath ("customize Form" button). Nothing funcy, just adding some comments.
The form opens , and I attach a file, over 27 MB (22 MB works with no problem).
I press save (wait for 20 secs) and and error occurs:"Error processing the form"
I press retry, a popup window appears saying: "sending data to the server" and then an error window appears:
A Microsoft SharePoint Server State Service error occurred while processing your request. For more information, contact your server farm administrator.
Click Start Over to load a new copy of the form. If this error persists, contact the support team for the Web site.

I open the logs and copied-pasted here:

I created 2 document libraries, with a few fields in it, one of it is the people and group field named "Approver". The thing is, when the document is of 97 - 2003 format, the approver field gets copied over fine, but when is of 2007 format, it does
not get copied, its only the people and group column, I tried different names like Hidden_Approver, but yet it does not get copied. Am I doing something wrong here, and have anyone else faced the same error
