WPF- Back/Forward navigation UI not working when Html web files are displayed in Frame Control

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 24, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WPF

I am integrating (web) html files in my WPF application using Frame (say Source=http://www.microsoft.com)

I set the JournalOwnership="OwnsJournal" and

The navigation UI is visible and disabled initially when the page loads up (which is fine), but when I click on links the Back/Forward button is not enabled.  Interestingly the context menu shows Back/Forward and I can navigate that way. Do you have pointers?

Thanks for your help.

Server side validation of Fileupload control not working

I've tried this method in my code behind to try and validate that the Fileupload control has a file or not. I get the error message the the event "Server Validate" cannot be found. Can anyone tell why? Thanks.

Localization not working in class library (composite control)

I have a class library called WEM.portal which used Resource files to localise text in my composite controls.

I store my resource files (eg MyResourceFile1.resx) in App_GlobalResources folder and then refer to them using

MyLabel1.text = My.Resources.MyResourceFile1.MyResourceKey1

This is all working ok until I create seperate files for each language such as MyResourceFile1.FR-fr.resx.

I have implemented this throughout my other web applications but the Class Library doesnt seem to want to work the same way

When I load the page it correctly showes the resourced keys which I have done through the web application BUT the resource keys in the composite controls does not seem to pick up the culture code.

Am I missing something stupid. Ive tried

  • changing the Build Action on the resource file to Content and Custom tool to GlobalResourceProxyGenerator
  • Creating a resourceManager but to no avail

Model Binding the values in an HTML Table back to Controller / Model

Currently, I am working with ASP.NET MVC1 and am still learning about Model Binding and how values from a View are passed back to the Controller / Model. Specifically, I want take an existing Model, create a Table and populate the Rows of the Table, allow the user to edit some fields and pass it back.

In my example, I have a Class called "Ingredient" which has 4 public accessors:  Name, Barcode, Amount, and Unit

<%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<IEnumerable<MvcACE.DomainModel.Entities.Ingredient>>" %>

<% using (Html.BeginForm("SubmitOrder","MyController"))
{ %>

<% if (Model != null)
foreach (var item in Model)
{ %>
<td><%= Html.Encode(item.Name)%></td>
<td><%= Html.Encode(item.Barcode)%></

corrupt html from custom control on win2003/iis6 box

Hello everyone -- first time poster and relative newcomer to the boards.  This bug I'm tackling has me at my wits' end and it's come time to turn to the masses!  If this is posted in the wrong forum and/or has already been addressed, I apologize.  However, I've done thorough searches and haven't come across anything akin to what I'm facing.

I'm working with a website that has a set of custom controls, all descending from a base class.  These controls take DataSets returned from web services and renders custom html via overriding the Render method.  Everything works fine on my local box and my coworker's box (both xp machines running iis 5).  However, on our server (windows server 2003, 64-bit, iis 6), the html rendered by the browser appears corrupt, with garbage replacing individual characters, as follows:

Binding byte[] to image control in navigation application leaks

Hi there, I have a (minimal) navigation application with two pages. Page1 contains an image. Switching between pages is done via a buttonhandler in code behind, for instance, (this.NavigationService.Navigate(new Page2())) The image is loaded in code behind via: private void LoadImage() { string fileName = "./images/image.bmp"; if (!new FileInfo(fileName).Exists) throw new Exception("File name doesn't exist"); using (FileStream fs = new FileStream(fileName, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read)) { this.ImageData2 = new byte[fs.Length]; fs.Read(this.ImageData2, 0, System.Convert.ToInt32(fs.Length)); fs.Close(); } } ImageData2 is a byte[] property that sends a propertychange event on changing. ImageData2 is bound to an image in xaml: <Image Grid.Row="1" Source="{Binding Path=ImageData2, Mode=OneTime}"/> When we unload Page1 the following clean up code is executed private void Page_Unloaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { this.ImageData2 = null; GC.Collect(); GC.WaitForPendingFinalizers(); GC.Collect(); } Now, when I start changing pages, I expect the Page we leave to unload, so the GC removes the byte array. However, it doesn't. Am I missing something? Binding the image to a BitmapImage (ImageData1, as you might have guessed:-) ) doesn't leak.

No symbols are loaded for any call stack frame. The source code cannot be displayed.

Hello.I installed VisualStudio.NET 2005 a few days ago.  ( not beta )While I'm debugging, I'm faced with strange message box.-- MessageBox --No symbols are loaded for any call stack frame. The source code cannot be displayed. -- Debug Detail Window --FatalExecutionEngineError was detectedMessage: The runtime has encountered a fatal error. The address of the error was at 0x7a2b5aec, on thread 0x358. The error code is 0xc0000005. This error may be a bug in the CLR or in the unsafe or non-verifiable portions of user code. Common sources of this bug include user marshaling errors for COM-interop or PInvoke, which may corrupt the stack. How should I solve this problem? Please answer me..Thanks.Gwisun.

Trouble getting my back/forward buttons to work correctly

My program has 4 pages that have session variables on each page and they are retrieved on the 4th and final page then submitted to a database when the submit button is clicked. When i was testing my program i filled out all 4 pages and then clicked back to refill-in something on a previous page and all my information wasn't filled out anymore. So i added the code in the page load sub btnBack.Attributes.Add("onClick", "javascript:history.back(); return false;") and this cured that problem so i could click back and the data would still be filled out. Then i saw a new problem....after i went back to fix something on previous pages 1 and 2, i would click the next button to go forward to pages 3 and 4 that i've already started filling out and now the data on those pages were cleared. So how do i make it so that the information from the whole program stays filled out whether i go back and forth from the 1st page to the 4th until i click submit on the 4th page? I have searched everywhere on the internet and cannot find a solution

Back & forward button of browser hide...

Page navigation in a frame throws an exception

I created a very simple WPF project that exhibits the following error. I have no idea how to get of this error. Get visual clues back when using a control template

This something I dropped for a while.  I am attempting to use a control template to get a left and right (sort of jukebox) look.  When I do this all visual clues such as selection are lost.  The XAML for the listbox and the control templates are as follows: <Window x:Class="Window3" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window3" Height="300" Width="513" > <Window.Resources> <Style x:Key="NoButtonBorder" TargetType="{x:Type Button}"> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type Button}"> <ContentPresenter Margin="{TemplateBinding Padding}" HorizontalAlignment="{TemplateBinding HorizontalContentAlignment}" VerticalAlignment="{TemplateBinding VerticalContentAlignment}" SnapsToDevicePixels="{TemplateBinding SnapsToDevicePixels}" ContentTemplate="{TemplateBinding ContentTemplate}" RecognizesAccessKey="True" Content="{TemplateBinding Con
