Silverlight Webpart enableHtmlAcces = True is this possible?

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 24, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I am hosting a silverlight app in a silverlight webpart in 2010.  I need to set the param enableHtmlAccess="True" in the content.  I am able to do this if I put my own silverlight hosting code in a content control.

Is it possible to set a param in the silverlight web part?  (again this is a <param name="enableHtmlAccess" value="True"/> that is a nested tag in the <object> tag the web part generates when building the page based on the web part.  The custom init params is not a solution it just passes those values into the application itself, this has to be set on the rendered html.

I added this silverlight sildeshow webpart (http://www.sharepointevolved.com/blog/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?List=0586f39d%2Dc3f2%2D4f6c%2Db61f%2D2a33a3fcd95c&ID=27) which  customized a SharePoint data form web part with XML and XSLT to my sharepoint site which uses Active Directory authentication. it looks great (I published the webpage). but after I logout the system account, and login as my regular account with Read permission. the silverlight webpart can't show up. I check the permission of the Picture Library. there is no problem. I can see the pictures in the Picture Library with my regular account.
Anybody has the same problem? how to fix it?

Thanks

Silverlight webpart not working...

hi,

I have created a silver light Log In application  and added it into my Empty SharePoint Project. Also i created webpart for the silverlight application with the help of this link http://chrisforbesblogs.net/2010/08/11/deploying-a-silverlight-application-to-sharepoint-2010/

Now when i deployed the webpart i can see the webpart but when perform any operation i get the following error:

Microsoft JScript runtime error: Unhandled Error in Silverlight Application An exception occurred during the operation, making the result invalid.  Check InnerException for exception details.   at System.ComponentModel.AsyncCompletedEventArgs.RaiseExceptionIfNecessary()

Secure Sharepoint 2010 with Silverlight Webpart not communicating with CRM.

We have a SharePoint 2010 Enterprise site using SSL. I have modified a webpart that uses Silverlight to connect to crm and output data from there.

The project works when I debug the Silverlight project. This was only after I implemented a clientaccesspolicy.xml on the CRM site. The problem I have is that when I try moving it to the SharePoint site or debugging the project that wraps the webpart, I get the same cross domain error. The error is as follows.

Unhandled Error in Silverlight 2 Application An exception occurred during the operation, making the result invalid.  Check InnerException for exception details.   at System.ComponentModel.AsyncCompletedEventArgs.RaiseExceptionIfNecessary()
   at CRMSLParts.CrmSdk.ExecuteCompletedEventArgs.get_Result()
   at CRMSLParts.AccountManager.service_ExecuteCompleted(Object sender, ExecuteCompletedEventArgs e)
   at CRMSLParts.CrmSdk.CrmServiceSoapClient.OnExecuteCompleted(Object state)
<my site here>

This error when debugged in Visual Studio 2010 is as follows.

An error occurred while trying to make a request to URI 'http://<myCRMsiteHere>/MSCrmServices/2007/CrmService.asmx'. This could be due to attempting to access a service in a cross-domain way without a proper cross-domain policy in place, or a policy that is

How to change a SharePoint list item Approval Status from Silverlight webpart

Hello,

I'm facing the following problem:

I have an embedeed silverlight xap application inside a custom visual webpart, that access SharePoint data through Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.Silverlight classes, and I have to modify some fields from an item from a list that has "Require content approval" enabled. I update the item successfully, but its approval status is set to "Pending" afterwards.

How can I re-approve the content programatically?

Some additional information:

  • SPList item has a moderation information field, but in Silverlight there is only "ListItem" which does not contain such field.
  • When I try to do "item["_moderationinformation"] = something", I receive a PropertyOrFieldNotInitializedException.
  • I can check for Item.ParentList.EnableModeration, but there is neither a field nor a method related to moderation on the item itself.
A possible solution would be to create and call a web service that approves the items, but I'd rather prefer to avoid hosting and calling a ws to cover this functionality.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Ezequiel

Serving Silverlight Apps from Windows Mobile

Even if mobile dev is not my every day work, thanks to the .Net Compact Framework, it's still .Net programming.

Here is the scenario:

You come back home, you have a windows mobile phone wifi capable and you want to quickly get access to your phone pictures from your home network.
You just activate the Wifi, run my app and then browse to the provided link from any computer on the network.

Building a 3-Tier App with Silverlight 3, .NET RIA Services, and Azure Table Storage

Silverlight 3, .NET RIA Services, and Windows Azure Services Platform makes a 3-tier Cloud application easier to build: Silverlight 3 as presentation tier, .NET RIA services as the business logic and data access tier, and Windows Azure Table as the data storage tier. The sample application in this article demonstrates the architecture with a simple Survey application with all these technologies working together from Windows Azure.

Silverlight Simple Animation

Silverlight has several built in techniques for animating controls. Many of these technologies are particularly useful for creating simple animations meant to decorate a web page with eye catching movement that draws the reader's attention. In this post I will skip over these decorative technologies, and instead show how to create a simple animation using a technique similar to those used in many games.

Silverlight Slideshow Viewer for SharePoint

This series will walk through the Building Blocks that I have created to demonstrate and improve the SharePoint end user experience. I have been using many of these techniques in my developer focused demos for SharePoint 2010 (and in some cases SharePoint 2007). My plan is to use this post series to distribute my code and provide more detail on the why and the how of many of my code samples

Easier Silverlight Development against SharePoint

I have been spending quite a bit of time lately working with Silverlight 3 and SharePoint. One of the first big shifts for me is that Silverlight Development is Client development. Silverlight runs in the browser, but it runs on the client, so no SharePoint Object Model code. You have to access all of the goodness that is SharePoint through its web services.

WPF / Silverlight tutorial: Visibility property and binding

Visibility property is a very powerful and yet often overlooked property available in both WPF and Silverlight. It enables you to set Visibility of certain UIElement objects to different states like: Visible, Collapsed and Hidden (not supported by Silverlight). This tutorial shows you how to use it and how to bind to Visibility property

Integrate Reporting Services with Silverlight and RIA Services

One of the most wanted future features in Silverlight is the possibility to create business reports using Reporting Services. In this article, I will show how to use the existing Reporting Services technology with Silverlight and RIA Services combination.
