I've been developing with gridviews for quite some time now. Just
recently I came across a situation that has me stumped. Here's how the
gridview has been working for me.
stored procedure from the database is called (three parameters are passed (reporttype, name, location)
data is retrieved using the SqlDataAdapter to fill a Datatable
gridview DOES NOT AUTOGENERATE COLUMNS
are created programmatically as it reads the DataTable results (headertext,
datafield, and dataformatstring are set at runtime)
Gridview triggers the databind event - and voila it works.
dilemma is this: the stored procedure (that I haven't developed) returns
a various set of columns and column order. I have one report type that
does the following:
ReportType 1: column orders returned in the following order when running
directly in SQL
col B, col C, col D, col E, col A
I run the report through my gridview, the column order is as follows:

I Got a table with about 10000 records. When I use the query (for testing) SELECT * FROM <table> there is no problem with it....
But the query SELECT * FROM <table> ORDER BY date DESC (and column date is an unindexed column) the query never finishes.
quering the database with ORDER BY on an indexed column, the resultset is there in a couple of seconds.

I am running a data transformation that enters data into two tables using a multicast. The problem is that one table is the parent of the other, and therefore the parent must be populated first. However a multicast transoformation executes both
table inserts at the same time. Is there a way to specify an execution order at the multicast level?
BTW - I can't do the obvious solution of creating two data flow tasks at the control level because the data source in an XML file and I am using the dynamically generated element ids as my primary and foreign keys.
