SSRS 2005 Render Format Excel Issue with Time Field

I have a report that uses a datetime field but gets populated only with the time. So, in SQL db, it gets stored with a default date value of 1899-12-30 12:01:01 with the correct time filled in. Report in SSRS Preview mode displays the value just fine when I use the Time format in Layout mode. I build and deploy and able to view the report in a web browser with no problem displaying the time field. But when I subscribe to the report and choose Excel render format, when I open up the Excel file from the email that was sent, I get negative decimal values. I have tried every possible Time format in SSRS but I get the same result. I also tried just the default and still gives me negative decimal values that show up as ####### in Excel.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

SSRS charts not displaying in dashboard, But only matrix controls

Hi
We are facing a strange problem. We have developed a dashboard using Sharepoint 2007, Custom report viewer and
SSRS 2008. Due to unknown reason the custom report viewer was not able to show reports from reporting service
through default authentication. I mean with the credential of the logged-in user in sharepoint site. So we
hard coded one of the credential detais in the webpart so that we are able to see the reports through
sharepoint dashboard.

Now the problem is

1. if the user whose credentials are hard coded on the custom web part logs in to any machine.
         a. He opens the sharepoint site with his credentials. he can see everything fine, means reports with table control and reports with charts.

         b. He signs out of the site and some other user signed in to the site. he can see everything fine, means reports with table control and reports with charts.

2. The user whose credentials are hard coded signs out of the machine itself. And some other user logs in to the machine.
  a. He opens the sharepoint site with his credentials. he can see reports with table control, but he cannot see reports with charts.

Format Code D0 is not working in SSRS 2008

We are trying to migrate all our RDL from SSRS 2005 to SSRS 2008.

In the rdl’s we defined format code for a  text box as “D0”  which is working fine in SQL 2005.

While migrating the rdl’s to 2008 it is not working and data is showing for that text box as “#Error”.

How to resolve this . I am having around 1000+ rdl’s to update with proper format string.

If I open the Rdl in BIDS I am getting below error.

[rsInvalidFormatString] The Format value for the textrun ‘textbox1_0_13.Paragraphs[0].TextRuns[0]’ is not valid. Format specifier was invalid.

Where can I find a list of all the format codes, complete with their definitions?

SSRS - Date Format & Parameters Refresh.

Hi,

I am using SSRS 2005 with Enesys Add on Tool for reports.

I have used date format as "dd-MMM-yyyy" in the application and used the same in the report.

Issue : 1

I want to convert this format into a format where i can sort the date fields as and when exported to excel sheets.

Issue : 2

Some of the values are null and when exported to excel cant see the null values. I am using Format function in the conversion so that if the value is nothing, show nothing or show the value.

Need to resolve this as when the report is exported to excel i can see null values or squares in the columns when applying filters.

Issue : 3

The input paremeters are refreshed everytime i select a new value in other parameters. There is no dependency on the input parameters.

Please help me out in resolving these issues ASAP.

Need to submit these today EOD.

Thanks in Advance.

SSRS Report Sorting issue in Dashboard created usign Performance point services in sharepoint 2010

I have created a report in SSRS and this report is integrated within a dashboard created using performance point services in sharepoint 2010.

The report is a simple tabular report with 5 coulmns and interactive sorting is enabled on each of them.

Sorting works when the report is viewed separately but gives "Report Server Error" when I try to sort (on any column) inside the dashboard.

I have user IP instead of host name in the report server url.

Please help.

Thanks,

Abbas

SSRS Date Format in Parameters

Hi,

Can we change the date format in the default parameters pane.(For eg : When we create a new parameter and select datatype as date time in report parameters.)

Default settings for this date picker control is mm/dd/yyyy.

I need to change the date to dd/mm/yyyy.

Is it possible to the change this date format to dd/mm/yyyy or any other custom format?

SSRS Format Expression w/ Dashes

I have a filename field that contains text such as:  data/0123456789ABCDEFG.txt

Does someone know of an expression that can format it as this:

data/0123456789ABCDEFG/0123456789-AB-CDEFG.index.htm               ?

So, it would be adding the original field again and formatting it with dashes?

Hope that makes sense....

Thanks!

SSRS 2008 R2 - datetime parameter "visually" format?

Hi, I have SSRS 2008 R2 in SharePoint 2010 integration mode.

My report has Date/Time data type parameter. When user open report, "visually" date format is MM/DD/YYYY, but I would like to have DD/MM/YYYY format (same if user pick date from Calender drop-down date selection). Any idea (like is it Report Server region settings or SSRS settings OR SharePoint date settings OR ... ).

Any idea how to "visually" shows date parameter as DD/MM/YYYY format? Thank You.

How To Set a Date Format In GridView Using ASP.NET 2.0

A very common desire is to set a column of a gridview to display just the month, day and year of a DateTime type. The problem is the by default, the HtmlEncode property of the boundfield attribute (

How to format and update GridView and DataGrid rows using JQuery

The behavior described in this question is as expected. When you set text of a cell in grid, it directly affects HTML that is going to be rendered. When you set text value of a cell, it means that you are setting innerText of the cell. The column that GridView creates for command fields (Edit, Delete and Select) are a (anchor) or button elements. So you can see what will happen if you set text value in that cell. It will wipe out those link or button controls and replace them with simple text string.
