Posted By:      Posted Date: September 24, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I would like to connect the shapes with the Data from the SQL Server. If I do it in the MS Visio I have got the connection and I can update the Data. If I publish it to the Sharepoint as an Web-Drawing (.vdw) I have got an error by updating although it is working in the MS Visio Software.

Data Driven Subscription problem - sub runs slowly, has 40 errors out of 300, but report server trac

I have two report servers and a single separate SQL Server 2008 server hosting the data source database and the report server catalogues. There is a data driven subscription that runs off a sproc that returns 300 rows with email addresses for this report to be emailed to. The report itself contains around 30 subreports each with its own sproc to retrieve data. As the report is executing there are long pauses between the times when emails are actually sent out, and the subscription status will finally end with something like "Done: 300 processed of 300 total; 40 errors." I am not sure how to go about troubleshooting this problem. Details: I kicked it off at (say) 2:00 PM. Within 3 minutes in the report server execution log I saw 300 entries. There were exactly 300 people who should receive reports, so the master report should have executed 300 times and sent out 300 emails. So this looked good in the execution log. But when I checked report manager's status page for the subscription it was listed as processing 50 out of 300... Then all activity stopped, about 15 minutes some more reports started emailing out, and now I see there are around 590 rows in the execution log and maybe 97 emails sent out... Then finally I get a grand total of 846 rows in the execution log and a grand total of 260 of 300 emails sent out with 40 errors so 260+40=300 exactly. The time betw

Problem with users needing sysadmin server role to connect to db

When we create a new user in SQL Management Studio 2005 and give it just the public server role, it does not allow us to connect to the db. We found that we had to give it the sysadmin server role in order to allow it to connect to the db. We are using a UDL file in order to test connect. It seems that this is true for all users we create in SQL Management Studio 2005. Is there a way where we can change it so that users are not required to have the sysadmin server role in order to connect to a db? We would like it so that if they have at least the public server role, they should be able to connect to the db.

Problem with SQL server 2008 UDF and model data entities

Hi everyone. I'm very new with this technology and still have to learn lot's of stuff...

I managed to start with basic MVC design but i'm now stuck on adding functions to model..

I created view in mssql

SELECT table1.Field1, table2.Field2
FROM table1 INNER JOIN table2 ON table1.Field1 = table2.Field1

and function

CREATE FUNCTION fnGetMyViewResult(@paramField nvarchar)
RETURN SELECT * FROM MyFirstView WHERE MyFirsView.Field1 = @paramField

but when i run entity data model wizzard from VS 2010 i can chose only from tables, views and stored procedures. There is no way (atleast no way i know about) to add my sql function to MVC model...

I can see function in ServerExplorer but not in wizzard....

Can someone help me with this?

Thanks in advance..

Inforpath data fails to submit to sharepoint libary - A server problem or????

I have build a infopath 2007 form - published it to sharepoint. User fills in the form via link to the infopath tempalte on sharepoint. so fare so gooooood NOT

For some days the form work great - data was tranfered from infopath to sharepoint. With out any problems. Every time the user press the submit button the form is saved and a pop up tells the user, that data is submitted. hmmmmm today a user told me that he had submitted a few forms to sharepoint. I did not know because sharepoint did not email me about new data. So i checked No new entries from that user. I log in as test user - submitted data - no problem. did anoter try later and discovered that infopath behaved normaly, pop with info about data submitted to sharepoint - BUT no data was found in sharepoint form libary

Any ideas what can be wrong - there are no codes - except userrole and some fields for calculating age.

When user submits the form data is sent to a libary which only shows filname, and info if its approved or not. When i open the submitted form I have to ad text to some fields and then submit the form to another libary for data collection. the full templet is placed in that libary.

As mentioned eralier this has work until today. and i cant figure out why some data is comming throug and others not. I tried to submit form with sam

MS SQL Server: Search All Tables, Columns & Rows For Data or Keyword Query

If you need to search your entire database for specific data, this query will come in handy.

So when a client needs a custom report or some sort of custom development using Great Plains, most of the time I will have to track down the data in the system by running this query and find the table(s) it is in.

SQL Server Session state problem.

Hi to all,

I have some things that I want to know. I am right now using a free asp.net webhosting ("somee.com"). The problem is that when I am visiting a page, there's a tendency that values stored in my session variables are lost. Therefore, it causes an error when the requested page is loaded.

1. I am thinking of using sessionState mode="SqlServer". Will it solve my problem?

Actualy Im working on it but Im having problems when connecting to the sql database.

2.  Is that a problem in the webhost?

3. Do free webhosting sites provide allow session state in the sql server?. Because ive tried it locally into my computer and error say's i should intall the ASP.NET Session State SQL Server version 2.0 or above.

MySql.Data assembly problem

I added refernece MySql.Data to my project. My web.config looks like that:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
                <add assembly="MySql.Data, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=C5687FC88969C44D"/>

But when in ServerExplorer I try "Add Connection..." I can't find "MySql Database" in the "Choose Data Source" dialog box?

What the problem can be?

server side does not save data when using POST data to another URL using WebRequest

 I am using a IIS 7.5 on Windows 7. I have a simple application that uses System.Net.WebRequest to POST data to another URL (in fact, the server side URL is on my local computer and it is hosted in IIS 7.5).

  1.  The problem is the server does not save data from client although on the client side codes when I debug and I see the OK message return from the code line

   response.StatusDescription; // this has value of "OK"
2. How can I debug the server code side where to receive the request from client side who posts the data ?

The following is the codes for client who posts data using System.Net.WebRequest, and codes for server side who received posted data to save to database.

Client side codes: // also run on my local computer

public string PostIntegrationXml(XmlDocument xmlSubmitDoc)

SQL Server Express2008 R2 brings app down, instance problem

I have tried dozens of changes and modifications to many settings as I will outilne here and all to no avail.

The short answer here though is that I uninstalled SQL Sever Express 2008 R2 and went back to the "NON" 2008 R2 and got things working. But like the fool I am wanted to run on the more current rev and updated again, all problems returned....

Win Server 2003 R2 SP2

VWD2008 Express (removed)

XP Sp3

VWD2008 Express

SQL Server Express 2008

I was orginally getting this message after updating to SQL Sever Express 2008 R2, I removed VWD 2008 Express from the web server, no good, then uninstalled SQL Server 2008 Express R2 and reinstalled SQL Server 2008 Express. worked but had issues, couldn't install MGTM Studio. Then I removed SQL 2008, cleaned folders and reg. Reloaded SQL Server 2008 Express, still flaky, couldn't get the Management Studio to install. So I removed it again and used the Web Platform Installer, which worked but loaded 2008 R2 again. Which brought back the message.
