HTML Editor not working in publishing pages - SharePoint

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 24, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hello All,

I am developing a SharePoint publishing portal wherein I make use of HTML Editor(third party control) in my page layout for editing the contents.

When I try to edit the page using the publishing console, the HTML Editor which I have added in my page doesn't appear at all. I monitored the design at run time using firebug and it showed no content. Where could I be wrong?

alternative to publishing pages that are editable in sharepoint designer?

when i create a publishing page, i can only edit the page in the browser.  it's not possible to edit publishing pages in sharepoint designer.  i want to be able to edit my pages in sharepoint designer.  so, i'm using web part pages.   now, i want to change the way the title of the page is generated for my pages.  the template i'm using has this:   <asp:Content ContentPlaceHolderId="PlaceHolderPageTitle" runat="server"> <SharePoint:ListItemProperty Property="BaseName" maxlength="40" runat="server"/> </asp:Content>   i want to change that.  i can change it in each web part page individually in advanced mode.  i can also change the template so that new pages are generated with my customizations.  but i haven't found any way to automatically apply my customizations to all of my existing web part pages. the page layout feature of publishing pages would allow me to do this.  but then, i wouldn't be able to edit my pages in SD.  is there any way to be able to edit pages in SD, and still be able to apply customizations to all of my existing pages in one shot?

sharepoint publishing pages permissions not copying while using variations

I have multilingual publishing site build on sharepoint 2010.We have break the permissions of the publishing pages  on the source language and assuming the same permissions will apply on the target site publishing pages also. But target site publishing pages still inheriting the permission from the site. Just want to assure, is this the default behavior of the sharepoint or something is wrong in environment setup.

SharePoint 2010 : Publishing Pages by Administrator

We have a requirement where administrator/approver should be able to directly publish the pages of a library where publishing approval workflow is enabled.

But, the Publish button on the ribbon is greyed out even for administrator and approver.

Any ideas on how to get this working?

Working with SharePoint document libraries

Document libraries are collections of files that you can share with team members on a Web based on Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services. For example, you can create a library of common documents for a project, and team members can use their Web browsers to find the files, read them, and make comments. Users with Microsoft Office 2003 can check out and edit the files as if they resided on a local or network drive.

By default, your team Web site comes with a built-in document library named Shared Documents, which is listed on the Quick Launch bar as well as on the Documents and Lists page.

SharePoint Application and Site Pages - Part 1 of 2

In this first part of the two part series, Steven covers the differences between Site and Application pages in SharePoint 2007, why each may be used in various circumstances, and prepares for the construction of a menu located application page. After a brief introduction he examines the concept of Site Pages and Application Pages separately in detail with supported screenshots.

SharePoint Application and Site Pages - Part 2 of 2

As the second article in a two part series, Steven examines the attributes and details of a SharePoint 2007 application page, including the construction and feature deployment of the same page based project. Since this is a WSS level objective, as opposed to MOSS, you will not need MOSS to work with the code included in this project. Windows Server 2003, WSS, and Visual Studio 2005 are all that is needed, with no additional add-ons. He provides a detailed analysis of each step involved in the creation and deployment of the project.

Application Vs. Content Pages in SharePoint

SharePoint has two types of ASPX pages. One type is the application page, also known as a _layout page. The other type of ASPX page is a content page, also known as a site page. Each of these page types is stored in a different location in SharePoint. When developers create custom ASPX pages, they must decide on the page type.

Embed Youtube inside Ajax Html Editor- problem

When inserting a simple embed of youtube inside the ajax editor, on firefox and chrome problems occur. On the other hand on internet explorer 8 everything works fine. I found this solution http://www.nopcommerce.com/boards/t/4228/bug-in-ajax-html-editor.aspx .

My question is where do I find the DesignPanel.pre.js ?

ASP.NET HTML Editor - Upload images

The article ASP.NET HTML Editor - Upload images was added by adarshtated on Tuesday, June 29, 2010.

In this article we are seen how to create a custom HTML Editor control to add image button in it.Create A Class-----------CustomEditor.cs------------------Add Name Spaceusing AjaxControlToolkit.HTMLEditor;namespace MyControls{ public class CustomEditor

I'm looking into using the HTMLEditor from the toolkit. I know its open source which isn't the problem. The problem is that I don't want to have my program to be open source but would like to use the editor. The source code I'd like to be paid for where the compiled version (the dlls and aspx pages) will be free to download. Is it possible to do that?

Sharepoint 2007 Search Not Working

I am pulling my hair out guys. I have tried everything i could find from this site and all other sites but have not been successful. No matter what i do I cannot get the search to work. We are using SharePoint 2007 and the search had been fine but our security team performed some patches and now I’m stuck with a dead search feature.

Any help would be immensely appreciated.

Things I have tried but did not resolve the problem:

1. Check all accounts and passwords

2. Run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard

3. Reboot server reset IIS

4. Try to rebuild the index but that also fails

5. Check the Content Access Account

Office Sharepoint Server Search not working but Windows Server Search is.

I am having an annoying Issue with the Sharepoint 2007 Enterprise search functionality. I cannot get the Search Centre to work, the out of the box webparts crash the page except the Searchbox when the others are closed. The event viewer shows up numerous Errors (Office Sharepoint Server - EventID 7080) returns with and the same when trying to add a search related web part (e.g. core.results, federated etc). EventID 6398 - Timer is a regular as is 7080. Details below.

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified).

Remote connections are connected, I am not 100% on the Instance name, (how would I go about checking this?)

Also I cannot access the link to SharedServices1 - Open Shared Services Admin site (not clickable), guess it's permissions but I seem to have full site permissions, I think I need SSP-Admin to make more edits to the Search, maybe this is related :s

Both Search Servers are runnig, I have tried everything I can think of to fix this and allow the Search Centre to work.

I am running Sharepoint 2007 on SQL Server 2008.

Report Builder in sharepoint is not working.

We are using below Topology in production
Topology is 3 servers:
Sever1: Sharepoint Form (wss3.0 no MOSS)
Sever2: Sql server 2008
Server3: Reporting Services 2008
Operating system on 3 servers: Windows server 2008.
Authentication mode: Form based authentication.

SSRS reports are working success fully in SharePoint using above topology, The issue is through SharePoint library when i am trying to access report builder reports the client is installing, after enter the credentials it is not connecting to server and am getting the following error "Unable to connecting server at 'http://servername/Reports/Forms/AllItems.aspx'  please use different url

The above issue on production only.

But in local development box there is no problem (in my development box SharePoint t, database (sql) and reporting service sits on my box only)

Thanks for your he

SharePoint 2007 - Consolidating everything as feature into WSP [Content Type, Page Layout, Pages, Ma

Hello –

SharePoint Designer: insert custom list not working anymore

Suddenly sharepoint designer decided today that it doesn't want to insert a custom list form anymore...
To be more specific, it doesn't work anymore in a site that uses the Microsoft budgeting and tracking template. In a website that uses an out of the box template, it still works.

It did work before, because I did it in other websites using the same template (it's broken there as well now).

Why oh why does SharePoint refuse to do this now?
I searched google and here on the forums, but all I could find was some issues after installing SP1, but we did that already long time ago and it was still working after that. I checked with our infrastructure guys and they didn't install new updates they say.

I also tried the solutions listed here: http://blogs.msdn.com/spdsupport/archive/2008/07/03/how-to-fix-custom-list-forms-will-not-insert-or-show-up-on-the-design-surface-of-sharepoint-designer.aspx
But they don't fix the problem.

So my problem is, I can go to Insert > SharePoint Controls > Custom List Form
I pick my list, content type and form type, I hit OK and... nothing happens.
