I would like to have our current Sharepoint 2007 Personal Sites accessible externally to the end users via https and forms based authentication.
Can anyone advise the steps/best way to achieve this?

I am working on some code that I am writing on my dev site. When you click a button, you are sent to a third party site, when you are done filling out a form, it kicks you back to my page. This is done my referer.
On my test site, I created a site called test so if I go to http://test, my site comes up. This won't work for my code development because the third party site must kick back to my site. Since http://test isn't on the web, it won't work.
I set up a dyndns account so if you go to http://myhost.dyndns.org, the router points you to my vm. If I go http://myhost.dyndns.org:5555, it goes to my central admin site. If I go to http://myhost.dyndns.org, I get a random iis page, but not
my sp site.
How do I change my sp2007 site, so I can access it from that other url?
I have a SharePoint 2007 List with Expiration Enabled in Information and Policy Management. I have a datatime column ExpiryDate which i used in Expiration. On Expiration I have chose to delete the item. Through Central Admin I run the expiration by clicking
"Process Expired Items now" button. I got the following error in the Windows event viewer.
Expiration Service for site http://md-rmanimaran failed.
Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))
Category: Information Policy Management
Where I need to specify the login details to get rid of this error? Anybody Please help..
We are setting up a staging farm on a test domain. For this we took a copy of the data from production and attached them to staging. In the test domain I created user with same user name as in production but they cannot login. I tried making the user site
admin still he cannot access. I hope there is a problem when we move sharepoint data between domains.
I ran the stsadm migrateuser comman with ignoresidhistory and it ran successfully, but still user get access denied message. Is there someway this can be fixed?
For example, we have 2 domains, prod and test. I setup SharePoint farm (same patch level as prod) in domain test and copied all my content databases and attached in test domain sharepoint. The system account in test domain is “test\spadmin”.
Now only he can access the new site in test domain.
There was a user “user1” in prod domain and I created a similar user in test domain - “test\user1”. Even after giving him full control on the sites, he gets Access Denied error. I tried creating a new user in test domain that does
not exist in prod domain, even he cannot access the site because of Access Denied exception. Is it a limitation of SharePoint that we cannot move data between domains.
PS: We are running MOSS 2007 Ent 64 bit SP1 and SQL Server 2005 SP3. We use NTLM authentication.
I am not experienced in this but am having problems with accessing the Sharepoint Central Admin, I click on it and IE will not open/access it. Neither can I get to Companyweb, IE sais it encountered an error.
As an update when I go to restart the server remotely I get an internal error notice for 50331656. I can no longer access remotely after doing this!
...also when Office documents are saved to document library they open as Read-only and cannot be saved back to the same document library.
This only happens in my production SharePoint 2007 environment from client XP and IE7 machine. It does not happen in developement environment (which mirrors
production) from client XP/IE7 machines.
Save works fine to SharePoint document libraries from client Win 7 and IE8 machines in both production and development environments.
This only happens when attempting to save to a My Site Personal Documents document library. Any other document library this behavior does not exist from XP
or Win 7 machine.
What settings controls ones ability to save to a personal My site document library. What setting could be different between prod and dev installations?
It only happens
I know this has been asked a million times but...Allowing external access to a MOSS 2007 site
I just can't figure it out, here is what I have done so far;
Then I have gone to Alternate Access mappings and;
So internally this works and I can navigate the site but on my firewall I have set up NAT for port 39397 to point to <server> but the page never loads...What am I missing?

Our client has a SharePoint (moss2007) site on Windows 2008, SQL2008 R2 Enterprise, and Reporting service is integrated with SharePoint
The authentication on the share point integration is set to windows, else the authentication for the SSAS datasource gives and error
The extranet zone ( forms) and intranet (Customer Forms) and default (Windows) zones are all access from inside the firewall and the reports render in each with no issues, as the datasources are configured to pass a sql username and password.
However, report rendering is a problem from the internet (external site), the following error is displayed:
I am modifying a SharePoint site and so far so good. Some of the objects were created using Visual Studio 2008 (C#). I was able to modify these objects and implement them on the targete machine without issue. The final step is to implement
the ASPX pages that were modified using SharePoint Designer 2007. These are aspx pages that are used to modify items in lists. All the pages involved in this upgrade are customized. I need to upgrade the target site with the modified version
of these pages. My intent is to copy the code from the page in the source site and past it into the same page on the target site. I tried using the Remote Web Site connection tool in SharePoint Designer 2007 but received the following error message:
"Unable to open 'https://(site address)'. Server Error: Could not find a Web server at 'website'. Please check to make sure that the Web server name is valid and your proxy settings are set correctly. If you are sure that everything
is correct, the Web server may be temporarily out of service."
I am not sure how to first check to see if the Web Server is temporarily out of service. I would appreciate your input on how to verify this.
Background information of target machine: WinServer 2008, IIS 7, Sharepoint (MOSS2007), site on port 80
I am working on a SP site (MOSS not WSS) which is heavily customised away from the OOTB layout. I need to create a Wiki site, which was going well - I've created a master page which displays the miniconsole (this was not visible with our customised
layout), and made it the default master page for the site. This has been applied to the two standard pages that come with the Wiki site, however when a new page is created, it seems to inherit the default.master, rather than my custom master page - thus not
showing the miniconsole.
When I have created a new page, I am able to use SharePoint Designer to attach my custom master page to it, which works perfectly, however this will not be a viable option going forward as end-users create their new wiki pages.
How can I get the new pages to inherit my master page when they are created?
I´d like to verify if somebody see this scenario:
* I create a site, using te meeting site template;
* I give Full Control access to an user;
* When this user try to upload an item in a library, in this site, it was showed the message "Acces Denied".
* If the user press "back" in the Internet Explorer tool bar and press "F5" to refresh, the file is there.
* The same problem is ocurring, when he try to create a meeting.
Somebody ever see this error!?
Thanks a lot
I have an sharepoint application which was working fine.
I encountered a license expired message in sql server enterprise evaluation 2008 version after which i changed the date to 2 months earlier date, I have also changed HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\100\ConfigurationState to
3 after which sql server started working but the issue is that the clients are unable to access the sharepoint site completely. On providing the url the web site requests for logon information and then access is denied. The same
url with the same authentication credentials is accessible from the server and the entire application works fine from the server.
From the client the below error page appears.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.

My manager is getting the following email "The My Site of XXXXXXXX is scheduled for deletion. As their manager you are now the temporary owner of their site. This temporary ownership gives
you access to the site to copy any business-related information you might need. " Can anyone tell me the number of days before the my site gets deleted and can the deletion be stopped?
