AJAX partial update of a partial view

I have an application which is using jQuery tabs. Each tab renders a partial view asynchronously, however some of these partial views need to also be partially updated. For example, one of them displays two tables of data, and one of the tables allows the user to filter the results, so I want to do a partial update of this one table, but I'm not sure how to accomplish this. I've been looking at Ajax.BeginForm, jQuery.post, and jQuery.load, but I'm not sure what the right approach is.

Thanks for any help. :)

Using AJAX update panel to show image but still blinking

May anyone help me on this issue please?I'm developing a web site that can grab image captured from cameras and show in the web page, i'm currently using Ajax's Update panel to update the image every second, my web files and Images is located in IIS virtual directory, browsing using IE7.My code is as following :<asp:UpdatePanel ID="uPVideoPane1" runat="server">                                 <triggers>                                     <asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="Timer" EventName="Tick" />                                 </triggers>                                 <contenttemplate>                                     <asp:LinkButton ID="linkCamera1" runat="server">                                         <asp:Image ID

Dynamic Javascript in Ajax Partial View

I have a partial view which uses Ajax.ActionLink to perform paging.  The AjaxOptions in the link identify the update target (a div on the main view) and some javascript to run OnSuccess (in the partial view).  The javascript must be in the partial view since there is some information in the partial view required to properly wire up the jQuery in the javascript.  This isn't working as expected.  The sample below is the minimum code to duplicate the behavior I am seeing: Controller: private static int count; // // GET: /Home/ public ActionResult Index() { ViewData["Test"] = count++; return View(); } [HttpPost] public ActionResult TestPartial() { ViewData["Test"] = count++; return PartialView(); } View:  <%@ Page Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head runat="server"> <title>Index</title> <script src="../../Scripts/MicrosoftAjax.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script

how to make VS Intellisense show complex object's properties for result of Ajax call?

I've create a WCF webservice and created a proxy to the service using ScriptManager.

I can see the created a proxy class, and intellisense pops up the methods of the webservice (great!!). But, I can't see the properties of the method params, return types.

The webservice method:

searchResponse DBSearch.Search(searchRequest)

have comlex types as a parameter (searchRequest) and a return type (searchResponse).

Intellisense does recognize these types, but I can not see the properties (javacript does);

var _searchRequest = new DBSearch.SearchRequest; (intellisense knows type SearchRequest)

_searchRequest.query = "liver lacerations"; (intellisense doesn't know it's property 'query')

_searchRequest.searchOptions = "modality=mri";

Obviously, with javascript, var _searchRequest is not typed, but is there a way to hint intellisense into the properties of the class?

partial view, 2 controllers

This is my first visit to the forums, I hope someone here can help me

I'm writing a small webapplication for creating repair tickets and adding comments, really basic

now I'm writing this in MVC2

So I have 2 controllers, 1 HomeController that does everything related to the tickets (listing tickets, creating new ones, editing) and 1 controller for the comments

the edit view for the homecontroller contains a partial view for /comment/create

so /home/edit/ticketnumber can edit the title and status of the ticket on the left side of the screen, the right side of the screen contains the partial view for adding comments

this is done like this:

Html.Renderaction("Create", "Comment");

but if I look at the generated html code when running the app, both save buttons go to /home/edit/ticketnumber

so the comment is never saved.

I hope this makes sense and that someone can help me solve this

Using ajax to submit and update form

Hi all,

  I'm new to ajax and not sure if it's necessarily the technology I need to accompolish what I'm looking to do. What I'd like to have is a simple two textbox and button form that let's the user submit some credentials (not for logging in) but instead to verify their identity for other purposes.  I would label the button as "Continue" and assuming it passes through, the form would update with some new data entry controls that would allow them to submit some final information.  I thought perhaps ajax would be a nice way to do this since I wouldn't need to create a second continuation page from the first to display a new form.  However, I'm unsure how it's possible to update the form in the first place to look different.  Or is there perhaps a cleaner way to do this?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

AJAX update panel and update progress controls

I have writtena Crystal reports web application, that prompts ths user for parameters and then apply them and exports the report to a folder as .rpt and then display the report. I prompt the parameters on one screen and then display the report on another page. I have the AJAX update panel and update progress controls in the parameter page. When the user enters the parameters and click on ok, I export the report and then loads the report to a session report document and transfer the user to the second page where the report is displayed. I use the following code to do transfer to the seconds page. I have excluded the report load and parameter assign code here.rpt.ExportToDisk(ExportFormatType.CrystalReport, "c:\reports\testrep.rpt") Session("rpt") = New ReportDocument Session("rpt").load("c:\reports\testrep.rpt") Response.Redirect("show.aspx") In the second page I have the following: rptViewer.reportsource = Session("rpt") My problem is this works one time and then stops working the second. What I found out was it comes to the statement: Response.Redirect("show.aspx") But it does not even load the show.aspx page. It stays on the parameter page. There are no errors displayed. I could not see any errors when I debug the application also. And out of the blue it works

Ajax and Validation on Partial Views

I have a main page "Index". Index page has 2 partial views 1. "CategoryList"- list with bunch of checkboxes2. "Add Category" - 1 text field -"BlogCategoryName" with "create" buttonWhat i want to do is when someone types in a new "CategoryName" in the text field of "Add Category" partial view it would send via Ajax to AddCategory controller then it would return a new List and Update "CategoryList" on the index page.Questions:How would i achieve this? so that validation works (ie when CategoryName is blank it would return that partial view with validation) however when successfully validated it would return a new list and update the "CategoryList" partial view.What's the best approeach?would I use JSON or AJAX?thanks

SSRS Subscription Management: Restart, Stop, View Status, update properties, etc

As SSRS admins, there are times when a user comes to us and ask: I didn't get my reported emailed to me today?or worst, a report subscription going to multiple people doesn't run and now you have lots of people missing their subscription - (suppose server crashed, or something happened).One idea of course would be to have the subscription owner re-schedule it to run now, or create a new -- but - i'm thinking - we should create a subscription adminstration tool.a .net app that queries the ssrs web service, gets a list of subscriptions in the ssrs system (or perhaps by folder) and then is able to 'restart a subscription', "stop a running one", 'view all subscription status, schedule, owner, etc' if I wanted to d this - what is the web service that I could use this for?and most importanly - has anybody dont anything like this that they can share?this is for ssrs 2005 & and I'm hoping 2008 can be called through the same .net app tool
