Jax-WS and .Net client WSDL Object cast

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 24, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

I'm currently developing a Jax-WS web service with a .NET client. I defined two objects in my web service like this:

public class Line(){

private Phrase[] phrase;

public Phrase(){

. . .

public class Phrase(){

private String[] words;

public Phrase(){}

. . .

I want to define a set of lines each one with a set of Phrases... and I use type Array of Phrases into an array of lines to do it. Similary, a Phrase is composed by a set of words.

I've tested a web service method that returns an Object Lines with a java client and every thing went ok... but... When tested it on .net client the type  "Lines" is interpreted like "string [][]" instead of "Phrase []" ...and type Phrase is not recognised.

I've already tested this method by replacing String[] to String in class Phrase and it works on .net too... but I really needed to use it like String[].

Can anyone help with this please?

Thks a lot.

what is role of object properties when using client side validations ?

I have been using properties and have idea that using properties with private fields we can implement validations and buisness rules in them.

But I am just thinking asp.net client side validation controls provide good strength and they provide good user experience as well. They can be used for any type of validation (using regular expression) on client side and their re-use is possible on server side. When validation controls are a must and they are powerful; is making properties not just wastage of time ?

Is there still some use of properties ? Please guide me.
