Page to Design a Football Shirt (eg with CSS colors) - C#

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 24, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

I am trying to work out the best way to have end users design thier own "avatar" football shirt.

For example:

They select type of shirt eg stripes, hoops etc

Then the colors eg black and white etc

Submit these details to a database

Then it generates the image on the fly from the database which stores "stripes" & "black, white"

Any ideas how to start this?

Master Pages: Master Your Site Design with Visual Inheritance and Page Templates

Master pages in ASP.NET 2.0 solve a problem many Web developers have been solving on their own with a variety of techniques for years - providing a single master template for an entire site. This article covers the details of master pages, discussing their usage and implementation and how they are a natural evolution of custom techniques developers are using today.

creating different sub page design template in sharepoint website

I know very little about sharepoint and have outsourced the design of a master page and sub page design for a new website using sharepoint. i received a site master file with all of the necessary images and the home page works just fine. However the file i received for the sub page design template was an ASPX file with the following instructions:

Here I enclosed the inner page layout file. You upload this file by using following instructions. you can change & edit the blue menu section in the master page itself. If I change into modifiable section you need to add the menu in each and every page, otherwise it will show as empty block. Please let me know your comments.

Steps for uploading inner page layout page.

Design view displays blank page

I'm relatively new to VWD and am using the Express version.  My web site is simple with a few connections to SQL Server data and to XML documents just to populate controls to display data.  After adding a new web page, linking its controls to an XML document and running it successfully, I discovered that I can no longer display the page in the Design view, I just get a blank screen.  To further confuse things I opened my root master page, which appears just fine.  I then opened the master page derived from this root master and it shows me content placeholders but not the controls inside the content placeholders.  If I have one of the master pages open in VWD and then I open the base page, I now see the data from the root master page but nothing from the base page or the derived master page. I think I'm doing something basically wrong but I don't see it.  Before I start deconstructing my web site I'm hoping someone can help me.  I have looked at a lot of posts on this site but I don't see one that answers my problem.  I did see the one about style and links and their ordering in the aspx file, but this isn't my problem as I currently have neither of these in use. TIA Jon

How to design common page across different sub sites and make them customizable?

I have a requirement to develop common pages with web parts and all authoring capabilities that should be hosted in the top level site and can be shared among all sub sites. The advantage of this should be as long as the sub sites don't want to customize this common page for look and feel or authorizing content this page will be served as a common page and yields the performance benefits. But when the sub site wants to customize the common page, it will have its own copy and any changes made to the common page shouldn't be available for the customized common page. How can I achieve this? I tried with the application page by hosting them into the 14\TEMPLATE|Layouts folder, but couldn't see the publishing capabilities enabled. Help will be greatly appreciated.

I have go thorugh online and find out that almost all the design is done in table with height= px/% and width=px/%

The way is i do is to have a table with width=100% and height=XX px for the master page.
Header, navigation menu, footer are all rows/columns in the table.

How to design an ASPX page?

I am creating an ASPX page using visual studio. I need to make use of CSS file. Ultimate goal is to use this page in sharepoint.

As of now, when I right click on the ASPX page and choose "View in designer" it kind of just hangs (however "View code" works). Is this quite common?

I need some inputs how to design the ASPX page (assuming I have the problem above) by using stylesheet.

Please suggest.

odd approach to dynamicdata and poor page/code design

I have a gridview (that sits above a goup of formview usercontrols on a page) whose datasource returns a list of table names (10 or so, datakeys are id and tablename) and some other values from a table and populates the gridview with a select column and a few other details.
The formview usercontrol has a property that sets the datasourceid and these are done on the apsx. On select in the gridview, the page posts back and tells the appropriate formview usercontrol, based on a giant switch statement, to databind and turn visible.

In the page_init, all formview usercontrols have their formviews enabledynamicdata for the appropriate table name.

All formviews start in edit mode (per client).  The switch will also takes the id from the gridview select and loads a small list of links ot the right of the visible formview that point to other tables with details about the table displayed in the formview.  These links pass a querystring paramater of another table name to a popup that runs a switch on page init, using the table name to dictate the datasource for a single formview (with 10 or so LinqDataSources on the aspx), binds and opens in edit mode.  Seting this on init allows the formview to properly edit, etc.

Here is how a user sees it.  Homepage, choose an "area"  This takes you to a page that loads a gridv
