Error during installation of SQL Server 2005 when typing the domain account

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 23, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

I am installing SQL Server 2005 on a server (Windows Server Enterprise Edition 2003 SP2) that is not domain controller and on the screen "Service Account" I checked the box "Customize for each service account" and typed a domain account (it has permission to "logon as a service"), its password and domain, and when I click the "Next" button, I am getting the error below:

"SQL Server Setup could not validate the service accounts. Either the service accounts have not been provided for all of the services being installed, or the specified username or password is incorrect. For each service, specify a valid username, password, and domain, or specify a built-in system account. "

What's happening? Why is this error occurring? What I have to do for this error does not occur?

Thanks for any help me to solve this problem

SP3 for SQL Server 2005, Installation Error

I successfully installed SP3 for SQL Server 2005 on one server, but it fails to install on another. Upon launching the executable (SQLServer2005SP3-KB955706-x86-ENU.exe) I get an error:

"Errors Found in INF : The patch request could not proceed due to errors found in one or more INF files. Download the patch from its original location and retry the patch installation. Contact customer support if the problem persists."

I downloaded it twice from Microsoft and once from the machine that had previously received a successful install. Same error each time.

Any ideas?

... The purpose of the SP3 upgrade is to enable printing from reporting services within a web browser.

SQL Server 2005 x64: Intermittent "Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 10."

Hi, We are experiencing intermittent authentication errors "Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 10" on a customer's production server. This is a new server that has just been rolled out in the past several months. Rebooting the server appears to make the problem go away. We are using SQL authentication from a separate server that is running IIS. The application always uses the same username and password to connect. Best practice for user defined error messages in SQL Server 2005/2008 --Need help

My requirement is to setup a standard practice for our team in handling DB erros and also  user defined messages. We are handling exceptions using Raiseerror method with in Try and Catch blocks.  For user defined message, we are using Sp_addmessage to add our application specific error/warning messages with error codess>80000.  Ex: 80001 | Company name already exists. please check. Here is the sample code ********************************************************************* CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[usp_CompanyProfile_insert]  -- Add the parameters for the stored procedure here  (@company_name VARCHAR(50),  @company_code VARCHAR(3),  @user_id INT  ) AS BEGIN  -- SET NOCOUNT ON added to prevent extra result sets from  -- interfering with SELECT statements.  SET NOCOUNT ON;  BEGIN TRY -- Begin Try Block      -- Validate company name   IF EXISTS (SELECT company_id FROM companyprofile WHERE company_name = @company_name)    RAISERROR(90021, 16, 1)      INSERT INTO companyprofile (company_name,       company_code,       createdby)   VALUES(@company_name,     @company_code,     @user_id)    END TRY  -- End Try Block &
