SSIS Parameter Mapping Issue

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 23, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

Hi , we are facing a strange issue while executing one our SSIS package. It works on all enviroment excep one. We have checked the software and hardware stack. It is similar to other enviroments. This SSIS is triggered by a ASP.Net application.

1. The issue comes in Paramter mapping in sql execute task. I need to Map a user variable of type int32 to Numeric datatype. It thows a error "invalid precision value". The same code works on all enviroments except this one. If i change the datatype to Short or Varchar, it works perfectly. Not sure why Numeric fails only on this Enviroment ?

2. But if run the SSIS as a standalone task, instead of trigerring it from ASP.net app, the int32 to numeric mapping explained above works even on this enviroment. So not sure why triggering the ssis it from asp.net fails.  Would there be any diffrence if we run the SSIS through a client or as a standalone.?

I know its a Enviroment issue. But not able to get to the root cause.  any pointers would be really helpful.

regards,

Mahesh

need help to solve this issue.

SSIS Lookup Transformation Issue

I am having a strange issue, In my data flow i have a Lookup Transformaton which will match on key columns of the fact and is followed by a condetional split that would deside if it should insert (old db destination) or go to update (oledb command) or ignore if no change. I have packages running for the last 1 year with the same logic. But in the recent packages I am experiencing a problem.  example: Key columns for join are - type_no (varchar 16) with all numeric values except one record wihh ' '(space) in it  and type_cd (decimal(18,0)) with values(0,1,2,3,4,5) It worked fine when I test the package. After couple of day running in schedule I get integrity violation and huge file with failed records which are supposed to be blocked at the condetional split as they are already in the fact. When i add a data viewer what i found is for all the llokup columns its having nulls (no match found). Workaround that is working for me for now is - I select full cash and say ok in the lookup transofrmation and again open it and set it back to no cash. Then it starts working as expected. Did anyone come accross this kind of issue? is the some standard that I have to follow to make sure this doesnot happen again

SSIS And Sybase Source OLEDB connectivity issue with code page for character set

Hi I am using SSIS 2008 to connect the Sybase Server version 15.0.3 64-bit. The default character set id used by this Sybase server is 4 (i.e. roman8). (http://manuals.sybase.com/onlinebooks/group-charc/chg0300e/charsets/@Generic__BookTextView/1706;pt=266) I had installed Sybase Client for Sybase OLEDB Driver (ASEOLEDB) to integrate this in OLEDB Source Editor. As per guidance from one of the past MSDN forum discussion, I tried setting property of AlwaysUseDefaultCodePage property to "FALSE"  (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/sqlintegrationservices/thread/f5af9328-e1fb-48d7-a85d-1d08bb7cf0e5/). However, I am still experiencing error message as follows:- ********************************************************* Error at Package2 [Connection manager "xxxxxx.xxxxxxx"]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR.  An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005. An OLE DB record is available.  Source: "ASEOLEDB"  Hresult: 0x80004005  Description: "[00000] [Native Code: 30061] [ASEOLEDB]Could not load code page for requested charset". Executing an SSIS package from an stored procedure and passing a parameter to it:

Hello all, I'm trying to execute an SSIS package from an stored procedure, using xp_cmdshell. When I execute the package, hard coding the value on the variable, I get rows inserted to my destination tables, which indicates my package pulled the correct data based on the TransactionID parameter. When I execute the package from the stored procedure, the package executes without issues, but I get no rows inserted into my destination tables, which leads me to think it is a data type issue, between the package and the variables I'm using within the stored procedure. The variable TransactionID on the SSIS package, is a string data type, therefore I'm passing it as a varchar from the stored procedure. Am I doing this correctly? Maybe I'm missing something, can you guys see anything wrong? Also, I tried login into the server and executing these 2 commands on the cmd prompt: One with "" quotes between the TransactionID value: dtexec /FILE "D:\SSISPackages\MyOrderCheckProcess\MyOrderCheck_RenewalOrder.dtsx" /CONFIGFILE "D:\SSISPackages\MyOrderCheckProcess\MyOrderCheckProcess_Config.dtsConfig" /CHECKPOINTING OFF  /REPORTING EWCDI  /SET \Package.Variables[User::TransactionID].Properties[Value];"470219"   And also one without quotes between the TransactionID value: dtexec /FILE "D:\SSISPackages\MyOrderCheckProcess\MyOrde

SSIS issue with dynamic excel sheet name

Hi Team, I am creating a Excel file dynamically using a script, excute sql and then the dataflow. I am not able to cretae a excel sheet name without an underscore exisitng file: "team data" even though am giving the table name in excute sql task(which is excel sheet name) as "team data" it is creating the name as "team_data" because of which the package is failing? I am able to achieve this with an underscore, as it is a client requirement to generate wihtout an underscore am posting this question. Is this an issue with Sql server 2005? Thanks, Eshwar

Passing parameter to Sub report Issue ( pls help)

Hi I have main report and one sub report. I used on dataset for main report and one for sub report. I am using Vs2005 .

Store procedures

GetMainreport(mid)

GetSubReport(sId)

I have setup the report added sub report in main report. I have also setup parameter from main report to sub report.

It works fine on reporting server.

When I am calling from Asp.net. I am getting error sub report could not be found.

here is my code

Report.SubreportProcessing +=

new SubreportProcessingEventHandler(SubreportProcessingEventHandler);

void SubreportProcessingEventHandler(object sender, SubreportProcessingEventArgs e)

    {

e.DataSources.Add(new ReportDataSource("DataSetSubReport", GetDatasoure("dbo.GetSubReport ", e)));

SSIS Environment Issue

SSIS package loads all the rows in DB when I execute it directly from package. But when I execute it through Job or using command prompt it loads some rows and skips some rows in between and finishes with success. I've never experienced such issue before. This has started happening all of a sudden. 2 months back this package was running fine.

Can someone please help me?

Custom SSIS task inteface building issue

Hi all,

I'm tying to use the class foundation that SSIS provides to build interfaces like those of built in tasks

I tried to follow this tutorial

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/mattm/archive/2008/07/18/creating-a-custom-task-with-a-default-ui.aspx

I added a Display text property to my task in order to display it when the task is fired, every thing goes well

except three  issues

1. The display value is not persisted( when I change it from the GUI inteface. It is only persisted if it is updated from the BIDS properties grid)

2. The buttons OK, Cancel, Help are not displayed at the buttom of the interface such in the rest of built in tasks, should I add them programmatically and  if it is the case how  do I to persist properties values when user clicks OK.

3. Some cells in the properties grid shows a combo box like those configuring  connection managers. For example one can expand the combo box and selects <New Connection...>

Or when one property grid cell get the focus then ellipses button appears when he/she clicks then the OpenDialogResult opens up

Or if one selects some properties grid cells then the properties grid changes by

Issue with Connection of Sybase in SSIS and Linked Server in SQL Server

Iam having problem connecting with Sybase from SSIS or Link Server of SQL Server 2008.

I have installed Sybase 12.5.1 OLE DB Driver and have also registered by running command:

We are also able to create System DSN from ODBC Administrator in Windows 7. I am also able to import data in the MS Access. Here is the System DSN I created, successfully.

I would really appreciate you can help us out.

SSIS 2005 Buffer Manager Issue

Hi All,

I am facing Buffer Error while running my SSIS Package. I have configured BufferTempStoragePath Property of Data Flow task. Even though I am getting the following Buffer Manager Error.

Description: The buffer manager cannot create a temporary storage file on any path in the BufferTempStoragePath property. There is an incorrect file name or no permission.  End Error  Error: 2010-09-24 07:40:01.01     Code: 0xC0047048     Source: DFT Load Fact Data DTS.Pipeline     Description: The buffer manager cannot create a temporary storage file on any path in the BufferTempStoragePath property

Is there any other property settings or workaround to resolve the issue?

Thanks,

SQL 2008 Reporting Services Report Parameter and Analysis Services issue after upgrade

I have upgraded my SQL 2000 database and analysis server and SQL 2005 reporting services server to a new instance of SQL 2008 running database engine, analysis services and reporting services.

The analysis services database migrated successfully and I have got the database into a state where it processes fine but I am having the following problems.

- My Reports show in reporting services but the drop down list parameters are all empty.
If I change the parameter in report builder to use the display name instead of the uniquename then the drop down list populates and works until I select a value that contains a space character and then it reports a problem with the dataset used by the report.

Query for the dataset used to populate my parameter.
with member [Measures].[GroupUniqueName] as '[Site].CurrentMember.UniqueName' member [Measures].[GroupDisplayName] as'[Site].CurrentMember.Name' select { [Measures].[GroupUniqueName], [Measures].[GroupDisplayName] } on columns, { [Site].[Group].members } on rows FROM [Invoice Reporting]

Query used by the report, filtering on the selected parameter value from the drop
