I had this as reply on a thread about migrating from WSS 3.0 to SFS 2010. But I have completed all the steps with the modified documentation, but the browser delivers an error 404 when I try to open the site I created. Same thing happens if I go at
it via https, but first I get a certificate warning error (using the IP instead of the FQDN) and then being prompted for credentials.
I am completely stumped at what else to look at. Any help in gathering information to get help is also appreciated.
Environment: SBS 2008, SFS 2010, SQL Express 2008. Rest of the IIS sites continue to function normally and I can get to the management site ok. Although after the install, I had to go into application pool and change the service account
from the domain admin (it defaulted to that) to networkservice account, otherwise I got a 503. Same thing happened on the site I created until I changed the service account. Now just a 404.
I created a browser enabled form with InfoPath 2010. I then published the form by selecting the option "Publish form to a SharePoint library" and then selected "Form library" and finally selected "Create a new form library".
As a result, a new form library was created.When I click on "add document", the browser opens a new form, which I can fill and save successfully. However, after the form is saved, whenever I click on the form name in the form library to edit it,
the browser "opens with" dialog box opens, asking for an XML editor software. In other words, the form does not open in browser for editing even on systems that do not have InfoPath installed.
The form is browser compatible and the form library is configured to open browser-enabled forms in browser. The issue is that the form hyperlink is directly pointing to form XML file rather than pointing to InfoPath form services URL.
I would really appreciate, if someone tells me how I can edit the form in browser.
We are using asp.net StateServer for asp.net session management. In our project we need to make sure that if a user is already logged in and if he is trying to acess the website from a different browser tab, we need to inform him that he is already logged in in another tab and use it instead of opening a new session. Consider the following scenarios:
1. User is logged on in tab1 and his session is still on, then user tries to logon from another tab, the browser sends the asp.net session_id cookie, In the page init i am checking if the Asp.net session Id cookie is present, if it is there i am checking if the it is a new Session (i.e. if the existing session timed out), if it is a new session then proceed with the user action else it means that the session in tab1 is still active so i am redirecting user to error page with appropriate message.
Now the problem with this approach is that, suppose session in tab1 is expired and user opens tab2 and performs some actions, now he goes back to tab1 and perform any action, i directly need to take him to log out page.
Please let me know how this can be achieved.
I'm having trouble in opening .xlsx files created using excel 2007. File is on the sharepoint site (WSS 3.0). Since I have installled Office 2010 I am not being able to open this file directly from the browser. However, if I download it on my local PC its
seems to open fine.
Excel 2010 shows error "Excel cannot open file "filename" because the file extension or file format is not correct. Verify the file is not corrupted..."
Please can someone suggest what I am missing on my sharepoint site?
I have a simple question - when I open up links in Outlook they automatically try to open in InfoPath eventhough I have selected Web Browser Form in the compatibility section of Form Options. How do I force it to open in the browser on all the links in these
workflow generated emails?

I have a button control where I retreive 2 strings with 2 URL like in the code below.
What I wonder how it is possible to do, is how to open up 1 browser window with 2 Session Tabs where 1 Tab is http://www.google.com and the other http://www.yahoo.com
How can this be possible to do from code behind (C#)?
protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
String URL1 = "http://www.google.com";
String URL2 = "http://www.yahoo.com";
//How to open up a browser with two session tabs with each URL in each?
