Infopath 2010 Viewing source codes?? (Urgent!)

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 23, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi everyone,

This will be my first post on this site!!

I am a ASP.NET developer normally using VS 2010 for web application development.

but this time my boss wants me to help another developer who develops and maintains Sharepoint 2010 site and applications.

She uses Infopath 2010 for sharepoint forms developement, but needed my help for custom code writing for proper displaying.

So my boss bought me Infopath 2010 today (I couldn't use VS2010, could not find any related Infopath forms)

and I am trying to use it- But got a problem!!!

Question: There is a button on the form and I clicked button event handler for custom codes.

I wrote custom db connection strings and sql statements and it works, but could not get any source codes for Textbox ID, Dropdown ID

on the form where I can bind my selected information. Where can I find these information? I could not even find any configuration files also,

so please help me with kindness.

I really appreciate your helps,

Do you like a big pile of source code? Well, there is an imperial buttload of source in the Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4 Training Kit . It's actually a 178 meg download, which is insane. Perhaps start your download now and get it in the morning when you get up. It's extremely well put together and I say Kudos to the folks that did it. They are better people than I. I like to explore it while watching TV myself and found myself looking through tonight. I checked my blog and while I thought I'd shared this with you before, Dear Reader, I hadn't. My bad, because it's pure gold . With C# and VB, natch. Here's an outline of what's inside. I've heard of folks setting up lunch-time study groups and going through...(read more)

BDC as Source to the Infopath form

Hi,

I have set up a bdc connection which retrieves info from HRIS. Now i need to populate a dropdown field in the Infopath form with the data collected from HRIS.

What are the ways a infopath form will know about the HRIS as well the Column that i need to bind?

Can a BDC connection be directly provided as a source in Infopath forms as we do for DataBase?

Thanks

VS 2010 and data source issues

I've been banging my head against the wall for the past 4 hours on this one and think I'm going to need a little help here. I must be missing something. I'm in VS 2010 on Windows 7. I've got a web project which has been going fine, but no matter what I do I can't get a data source to show up in the Data Source window. I've added a data source using Data > Add New Data Source, and the "wizard" appeared to complete successfully. I have a data source showing in my solution explorer, and if I open the .xsd file I see all my tables from a remote SQL 2005 database. I have a good data connection to the database server showing up in the Server Explorer window. But no matter what I do I cannot get anything to appear in the Data Sources window, which is greyed out (the commands at the top are grayed out and there's gray text in the middle of the window reading "There are no data sources to show for the selected project"). Under the main Data menu at the top of VS, the "Show Data Sources" and "Add New Data Source" commands are missing. I can sometimes get them to reappear if I restart Visual Studio or reboot the OS, but not consistently. I've been all over Google on this and have tried every suggested solution I can find, to no avail. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

Infopath 2010 Browser Based Form Vs Infopath 2010 Filler Based Form Issue

I have created a detailed infopath form that is connecting to multiple sharepoint lists, some of which contain thousands of rows and dozens of columns.  To tailor for the data load i have enabled the form to only pull in data as needed and on some of the lists i have created 5 or 6 data connections to the same list, each only looking at a certain set of data, and as you make your way through the form selecting your options, the data is pulled in. If i preview this form from within Infopath or if i launch it using Infopath filler this works great, the data is pulled through in under a second.  However if i then publish the form to the browser and launch it through the browser, it now takes roughly 30 seconds to pull in the data. My question is therefore this,  Is there something i can do to speed up the way the data is pulled in when launched through the browser?  are there transport protocols i can alter or something like that? maybe config in central admin or infopath config? any help would be gratefully appreciated as if i can not get the form to pull the data in fast through the browser then the whole project is a waste of time as my management team will never go for the solution if it is slow and will get slower as more data is added. thanks

InfoPath Forms library in visual studio 2010

Cannot publish InfoPath 2010 form template to SharePoint Server 2010 RC

Hi all, I am MSFT in Vietnam. I created a SharePoint list using InfoPath 2010 RTM 64bit. After publishing it to SharePoint 2010 RC, I see an error message:  Click on button "Show Details" the message is The list schema does not match the schema of this form. Refresh the data source and publish the form again. When I create new item based on published SharePoint list, I can see plain form not browser enabled InfoPath form. I checked InfoPath Form Services, everything seems to be good. What should I do to publish SharePoint list from InfoPath 2010 to SharePoint 2010 as browser enabled form?

Infopath 2010 - Section hidden

I have a section in my Infopath form that only a few people are supposed to see. I have used conditonal formatting rules to "hide" it. I am restricting based on user name that I am getting from GETUSERPROFILE which is working just fine. My problem is now that I have more than 5 users that I need to add to that conditonal formatting - there are only 5 slots for options.

Infopath Form Data submitting to Sharepoint 2010 List

Making a Client intake form that once submitted will send data to  a sharepoint 2010 List called contacts. Short Summary the form will have repeating fields and alot of information to submit. I have looked and read all over but I cannot find an easy step by step guild on how to submit the form data like that. Long Summary on the sharepoint site a button will open a form for adding a new client.  once the form has been filled out and the user hits submit sharepoint will then create a User File, in clients file, and take the data and put it into contacts list. I am trying to make use of Sharepoint as I would with access, meaning the more information I have on a client the easier it will be to mail merge letters, motions, basicly any file prepaired stuff. So once I have css designed forsharepoint to make it look the way I want then the forms should intergrate perfect
